I went here with a couple of friends last weekend after shopping and it was lots of fun! The steak I ordered (medium rare) was cooked just like I like it, and the veggies and rice and noodles were really good, not too greasy or salty-sweet the way I've had at other places. The guy did a great presentation!

My girlfriend and I have been to the Osaka in Tallahassee, so we decided to try the one in Destin when we were in town recently. The hibachi chef we had was very entertaining, the food quality was just as fresh and delicious as it is in Tallahassee, and we tried the sushi and saki here as well, and that was very, very good. Well presented and fresh. Good service too. I got the filet and lobster for us, and we split it. There was plenty to share, and we were more than pleased.

Osaka is one great place. The first time I ever had hibachi, I was at Benihana in Atlanta, so I'd set the bar pretty high from the start. Osaka has never been a disappointment (and I've been to "eh" hibachi places over the years). Their filet is so tender you could cut it with a spoon, even their chicken is amazingly tender and high-quality. The chefs (especially the "Elvis" guy) are fun and have a great sense of humor. I've seen some chefs that did their little performance as if it were sort of a drudgery for them, so it's nice to see chefs actually having fun with what they are doing. That's the whole point of going, right? They have a location in Tallahassee too, and that place is just as awesome. And they also have a sushi bar. Totally amazing, fresh, beautifully prepared and presented sushi. I've been to Osaka with my fiance, for birthday parties, with other couples, and with the kids. And with my parents. Every experience has been just as cool as that first time I experienced hibachi in Atlanta.

My wife and I were greeted and seated immediately by a friendly staff. The decor was clean and nice. We ate a variety of sushi rolls and couldn't have been happier. Our waitress was pleasant and attentive but not intrusive. The sushi rolls were creative with ingredient combinations, fresh and delicious.

Pros: Great food, excellent service

While vacationing, my family and I dropped by this establishment as it had a good crowd in the parking lot. Unfortunately, our evening was a big dissapointment when the sushi arrived. The protein were tasteless unlike a good fresh cut should be. Even the dressing in the salad was not even edible. We had the sashimi platter, a few rolls and some nigiri. Bland was the common denominator.

Fortunately, the service was friendly and efficient last night and that was the highlight of the evening. I suppose the handsome structure and packed parking lot could be very misleading.

I would highly suggest tourists who enjoy sushi to avoid this joint.

This restaurant is becoming a regular stop whenever we visit the area. I am moving back to NW Fl after years and am amazed at the variety of food being offered in the area. I first visited after it was recommended by my Air Force son. My mother has eaten there and now our whole family. Osaka is for lovers, for senior citizens, for young families and for veterans having a quiet dinner with loved ones deploying to the GWOT.
The first thing you notice upon arrival is the appearance. Both tea garden and modern in design, when you enter, you are greeted like a friend and offered a choice of sushi bar, mat room, and traditional sitting. No distracting noises, unless you consider the banter between sushi chef and customer that. You don't notice odors or smells. You do take in the aroma of things freshly grilled and steaming bowls of soup.
The menu is both well organized and easy to read. The offerings are traditionally Japanese with something for everyone. There are noodle dishes that you can't find elsewhere in town (try the tempura udon: prawns and thick noodles, tasted like the same I had as a military brat growing up in Japan in the 60s/70s (Go Chofu!). Bring an appetite. Portions are good sized (katsudon/pork on rice in a bowl), but with the selections offered, you will want to order Chinese style, some of this, some of that.
If you aren't sure what to have or haven't had a certain sushi item, ask. They will make you a sampler portion (give the tamago/sweet egg omelette sushi a try). For an appetizer, the word is edamame. They are the healthy 'popcorn' of Japan. You will end up buying these soybeans as snacks for life.
The staff is a major part of their success. They are responsive, courteous, and willing to help you with the chopsticks. For a special celebration, engagement, birthday, etc. consider visiting them. And bring your camera. Memories are made there.

Pros: Food, food, food

Cons: Souvenier shop...nice but needs some new items

This traditional Japanese restaurant is a great place to take the family. The meal is prepared in front of you at the table. We celebrated my daughter's fourth birthday here and the fruit bowl they prepared was delicious.

While on our honeymoon in Destin my husband and I visited Osaka. It was the most amazing Sushi we've ever eaten. The food was so fresh and the service was excellent even though they were extremely busy. We joked about traveling the 6 hours again just to eat there!

We just went for the sushi and it was outstanding. So fresh and full of flavor, it was made perfectly. Our server was great too although I don't remember his name. I will definitely go back for more sushi next time I'm in Destin.
