The library is small, but meets the needsof the community around it. The staff is friendly, and they keep the kids smiling. Theyve had a lot of afterschool programs for kids involving literature.

As part of the larger Volusia County library system, the Daytona Beach Public Libraries offer a huge amount of material - icluding ever growing collections of VHS & DVD Movies, audio CD's, books on tape/audiobooks, as well as books and magazines.

The staff is usually very helpful, and they also offer an online service where you can extend the due date of books you have out already, request them to order a special book from another library on loan for you, and search vast databases. Be sure to ask for the password sheet when you visit the library so you'll have online access when you want it.

City Island has to be one of the most magical library locations in the world - where elese can a place of learning and education be surrounded by so much beauty. Condo devleopers have been drooling over the city island property for many years, let's hope residents will speak up in support of keeping the City Island library, a true local treasure!
