I have my 4 year old son and 7 year old daughter in classes here and they have a blast. I like that they get to tumble and try out all the different equipment and the coaches are great. We also did a birthday party there once and all the kids had such a great time.

I did not like East Coast Gymnastics at all. The gym room has no Air Conditioning ( it's Florida and gets extremely hot ) and it smelled really bad in the gym area. There was little supervision and alot of horse play. The coaches were always different, very young and seemed as if they had little experience. There were not enough coaches there for the number of students making the classes very unsafe. You need adequate coaches that have been properly trained if you want a safe learning enviorment for your child. My child's coach had to stop several times and go across the gym to tell other gymnast to stop doing what they were doing before someone got hurt. I witnessed one of my child's team mate getting kicked in the face from another older gymnast because she was walking through an area when they were flipping. ( this is where they need to have more coaches come in ) I witnessed kids having water fights with their water bottles in the gym area and leaving the water for other's to slip on. I also witnessed a child being carried out by another team mate, she was very fatigued, covered in sweat and looked as if she had heat exhaustion. The child was then placed behind the front desk, no adults from the gym around, while 2 other girls and the girl that carried her in stood there and laughed at her for almost passing out. This is not the kind of training facility I want for my child. For the amount of money we were spending at this gym I did not think it was worth it and we decided this was not the gym for us. I suggest if you do look into this gym you take the time to sit in on acouple classes before you enroll your child. Ask to go into the gym room even though they say parents are not allowed. Sit in on 1 class in the gym room and see how hot you get from just sitting in there, now imagine your child trying to train when she's covered in sweat, the equipment is wet from sweat and she's crying because her eyes are burning from sweat getting in them. To me, for the money people are paying atleast get some A/C in the gym room for those poor kids.

My daughter has been on the girls team at East Coast for 3 years. It's a great place with a good attitude and while ALL serious gymnastics facilities are expensive, this gym is one of the least expensive in the area.

This is a great place to go if you want your child to be a gymnast. If, however, you're looking for your child to just enjoy some tumbling, look somewhere else. The classes are expensive and they get full fast. There are open gym days, but again, those are pricey (for both members & non-members).
