i as reading all of the horriable stories everyone wrote and i just wanted to give you guys some information that might be useful if you want to give formal compliants there is a number and website listed by miami dade where you can do so.

This company accepts cash only after illegally nabbing your car. These Trucks drive around Miami Beach as if they own the streets. You will notice how they circle the intersections and cutt-off tracffic tring to get to a car before the owners do. These wreakless drivers are such cowards they do not properly move your car they snach them out of spots and damage your vechicle in the process. They are to scared to confront the owners. Terrible for tourist, They treat you like criminals and with such disrespect, The police are in on it, This should be a federal investigation, or a Dateline special.

I was on South Beach this last Memorial weekend on vacatation and my car got towed from these crooks. I attempted to contact them via phone for cost info and directions and they hung up on me over 9 times. When I arrived at 5 am they stated my car was towed f at 3 am and it was 210.00 considering I was parked at a meter my parking was valid I contacted the police. The fat officer jumped out all cocky with a fat belly yelling "who called" I explained my story and they stated there is nothing they can do according to them on 14st it is prohibited. There was a ticket for 23.00 and 210.00 to pay i was pissed. My debit card and wallet was in my room. i had to catch the bus to my hotel room and back to pay for that crap. I watched all diffrent scenioros before my eyes, pregnant lady, lady with 3 kids, people curseing, etc they didnt give a hoot. This company is money hungry and pigs. I live in Miami Beach and my car was towed twice by these crooks out of my own condo...
A cab driver i was talking to while going to pick up my car said tremont was either owned by or doing business with the police department.
Once I told them they towed it from my condo they didn't look surprised at all and didn't even apologize.
The place looked shady with bullet proof windows. Was shocked of how nasty they were treating everyone and the employees looked miserable working there. I would be also if I worked around money hungry people that would do just about anything to make more money. Please be careful where u park in Miami Beach. You'll be in for a very unpleasant experience.

We were parked at the 7-Eleven near 14th & Alton around 10pm on Sunday night. While I went into the 7-Eleven, my girlfriend went to pick up some food from the next door restaurant. Less than 10 minutes later, I heard our car alarm go off. When I checked, I found our car broken into and hooked up to a Tremont tow truck, about to be pulled away. After some discussions with the extremely rude driver, he offered that he would let the car down if we gave him $150 in cash. He also happened to be able to point us directly to a nearby ATM. Unfortunately, my girlfriend was so upset by this time that she decided it would be best to give the man the money and get the car back. She gave him the money upon which the driver dangerously left the car in the middle of Alton Road, facing AGAINST traffic (facing northbound in the southbound lanes) and took off!

I later went back to the 7-Eleven and also asked at the other local stores, who all told me that they had not called the tow truck. They did tell me, however, that Tremont secretly employs so-called "spotters" who roam the parking lots and call the tow truck on unsuspecting shoppers in return for a "commission".

I still cannot believe that something like this would be allowed to happen in the US. What happened was illegal, unethical, and corrupt... yet there seems to be no way to do anything about it. After reading many very similar reviews, it is clear ot me that Tremont uses these practices on a regular basis, yet they seem to never have been penalized or investigated for these questionable business practices. I'm considering hiring legal counsel - if anybody has had a similar experience and wants to join the suit, please let me know.

sunday april 19th i parked in the miami beach marina off of 5th street because i decided to go jetskiing. i arrived there around 2:30 maybe a little later, went to the american watersports to sign up to go jetskiing. the next jetskiing trip was at 3:45 so me and my best friend walked over to Burger King to get some food and let time passed by. we got back around 3:30 put on our gear and rode out for about 2 hours.
when we got back we were all sticky from the beach water & decided we needed to take a shower or atleast to rinse ourselves off.
we walked over to the shower that is right infront of tgi fridays to rinse off, once we did that got something to drink and walked back its was about 7:20.
i get back to where my vehicle wass parked and nothing there.
i went to the jetskiing place had them take a copy of my receipt to present to the towing company.
i managed to get a ride to the lot and some "low-class" girl (im going to say lowclass because she was dirty looking with a bunch of jail-like looking tattoos) she told me that Frank would be there at 7am. of course its a recession and i have no idea where im going to get 250 dollars, SO I CANT SLEEP ALL NIGHT, 7:15 am comes along i call the office and they answer and say that frank isnt a manager that hes a driver and that the managers name is robert and hell be there at 9. 9:20 came along i call and Robert isnt there. its obvious that the boss is NEVER there so he doesnt have to take any calls of any sort, even if you have proof for your defense!
id just like to say that miamis police dept owns this towing company & i could include that miami has one of the most distorted police departments in the nation.
they should be put to an end.
i wrote this email kind of fast so there might be misprints and grammar errors (sorry) but like the rest of us who has time.
so i would just like to include that Tremont Towing is distorted and should be banned along with multiple towing companies especially ran by the MIAMI DADE POLICE DEPT.
you guys are towing cars because you have no lives and would rather take money from innocent by standers that are just living life day by day to survivee.
like i said excuse my language but they are all "fat lazy pigs with convict mentalities and thats why you guys are in right business, cr o o ks with badges."

thank yooou & see you around Robert & the tremont towing crew. ;D

My son was instructed by the valet at the "Mosaic? in South Beach" to double park in a regular space to unload equipment to bring up to a unit owner for a New Years Eve Party. My son told the valet he would be there overnite and gave his cell number and the resident?s info he was going to see to call in case of emergency. When he came down in the morning to get his vehicle; the pirates at Tremont had already towed it. My complaint is that the employee at Tremont would not check with the valet to see why this car was double parked prior to the tow. Furthermore, they would not let my son get his truck out of impound, but wanted us, his parents to drive down to Miami from WPB to sign for the vehicle. The license and insurance is in my son?s name, but that was not good enough.
I called & spoke with "Manager Frank". He told me he could make an exception, but my wife had "yelled" at him. My wife never spoke to him, but told my son to call the police as tow driver ran our vehicle into the wall when towing it. Now he turned into, "Mean Manager Frank" & said due to my wife's hostility he would not make an exception. I got ready to drive down (New Years Day) to get my sons vehicle.
Minutes later, my son calls & informs us ?Mean Manager Frank? left for an hour & if we faxed my wife?s license to him, the other employee "would make an exception". ?Mean Manager Frank? had told me $150 on the phone, but my son paid $200 cash to the other guy as no credit cards are taken.
Bottom line is, this company needs to be stranded by the merchants that employ them & select another firm to do their towings. As a business owner in Florida,I would never have such a firm with rude, inconsiderate, & arrogant staff represent my company for third party services.
?Mean Manager Frank? needs to be given the hook himself. The damage done by Tremont Towing to my son?s vehicle was dismissed by Mean Manager Frank. Quote "If one of my trucks did it, there would have been a lot more damage".

Our rental car was towed recently from the Marriott Oceanfront Hotel. The front desk called for us and was told it'd be $217 to get it out. After a $12 cab ride to this seedy address, the guy told us it was $190 cash. So what happened in 30 minutes to make the price go down. Because this is a cash-only outfit, they obviously make up the prices as they go and who knows what they report. Our receipt also said they used a flatbed which cost the most. The car was an automatic so they didn't need to use a flatbed and who knows if they really did since it was done over night. They are definitely in kahoots with local store owners, etc.

Regarding the scam they have with the dunkin donut strip stores. We must do something to stop this. I heard that the owner stays upstairs and calls the towing company as soon as someone leaves their car. They have a contract together. He must be getting a huge kickback. Everything is in cash. There's an ATM machine you must use. Cash only. A huge scam. Please boycott the stores and tell everyone else to. Make them aware of it. Unfortunatley the tourists are getting hurt by this and giving Miami or us Americans a bad name. The rest of the world hates us as it is, do you wonder why?

I am a Dad from TX, who has a daughter going to college in Miami. My daughter expressed to me today that her car got towed on Alton in a parking lot. The parking lot has 3 stores, one being a dollar store that she went into which you are authorized to park as long as you go into one of 3 stores. When she came out of the dollar store, the tow driver was towing her car. My daughter said she tried to explain to the tow driver that she was coming out of the dollar store, but without any success. Then she mentioned to him she could pay the on the spot fee without him having to tow her car off. Which he quoted her an amt of $57.90. My daughter friend was there and they explained to him they needed to go to her car to get the money. While attempting to go to her friend's car which was on the premises, the tow driver pulled off. My daughter ended up having to go to their location and pay an amt of $145.00. I think this is a very unusual and unethical practice of just a way to make money or more money from citizens. Also, I called Tremont Towing and spoke with Frank Mi the supposedly owner. I asked him if my daughter could just pay the $57.90 since she was offering to pay that on the spot and his tow driver just simply pulled off. Of course, Frank Mi decline my offer stating he did not make deals. In response to that I wasn't asking him to make a deal. I was asking him to take my request into consideration because his tow driver simply drove off in order to not accept the $57.90, but to make the service charge of $145.00 by having to come to their location. Also, Frank Mi was one of the most rudest and inconsiderate persons that I have ever spoke with. I called back a couple of times and spoke with an employee who refused to give me his name as well. He did give me a Mgr name Robert to speak with at 6:00 supposedly. Not sure how that will go based on my experience with Frank Mi and the other anonymous employee.

Please be careful of this unethical business. My car was recently towed from a parking lot on Alton and 14th. My girlfriend went to 7 eleven, I went to the convenience next door, and 20 minutes later, my car is gone. When I called, they said they just towed it because we weren't on the premises. I asked how would you even know what stores we were in. Did you come and ask? They were clearly wrong and simply towed the car to make a $175. Outraged, I saw an officer nearby and when explaining that my car was towed while in the stores in that shopping center, he smirked and said this happens all the time. He suggested to file a complaint with the city to take them to court as they tow cars unjustly all the time. He said that people complain to the Miami police department, and the owners of this business aren't exactly ethical people. Please be careful and make sure to report this to the police if you happen to have this occurrence.

Tremont Towing is practicing unethical behavior!!!

Today on November 4, 2007, my truck got towed from 1600 Alton Rd (by the Dunkin Donuts). My girlfriend and our 4 kids went to Dunkin Donuts, then went to the taco place next door so the kids can go the restroom and place an order to go. Within 10 minutes of them entering the taco place the truck got towed. The towing company stated they knew they had entered the Taco place, The only way they would know this is if they have "spotters" ready to call once the vehicle owners leave the premises. I'm a veteran of Iraq and the enemy does the same thing. They pay citizens ( often kids) to monitor the US troop activites, this is how they know immediately what we are doing...sound familiar? As soon as I pulled up to the parking lot (around 4:00pm) I could spot the visual observers and my girlfriend noticed that the same kid (teenager) had been sitting at the same spot earlier. Coincidence? I think not.

Tremont Towing claims that it is the local businesses/owners who called the towing company. However, after I spoke to every business manager/ employee present they all stated " We are to busy for that. No, we did not call. The towing company has people who keep an eye on the parking lot so they tow people on the drop of a dime."

A couple of questions automatically enter my mind:

1. As US citizens should we be allowed to be tracked by a business, so they can tow your vehicle and make a quick $175 dollars?

2. As a business, is Tremont Towing so concerned about "making a buck" that they rely on such an unethical behavior in order to tow vehicles ( within minutes of you leaving the vehicle) from a parking lot with empty spots available?

3. Are we going to sit back and let them get away with this unethical behavior?

The intent of designated tow-away zones is to keep traffic and vehicle clutter away from our city, not for companies to make a quick buck.
