I joined WW this year and I LOVE it. The staff are all great, friendly, and helpful. They answer all my questions patiently and politely and I have never had a problem. They have several membership options available and the classes are incredible. The facilities are nice, neat, modern, and clean and the locker room is great. I have friends who went to Gold's and had problems with the trainers hitting on them and having their accounts still having funds removed and I have had neither problem at WW. It's a great environment and makes me actually want to get off the couch to go work out. I love it!

I recently joined Women's World gym, and I really love it! The staff is friendly and helpful, and the facilities are modern and clean. I'd recommend this gym to any woman who wants to avoid long lines and who wants personalized training specifically designed to benefit women. Two aspects of the gym that I particularly like are the weight circuits and the abundance of cardio machines. I've never had to wait even a minute for a machine to become available!

I??ve been going to Women??s World gym for the past 3 months and I really like it. The facility is clean, there are plenty of machines, the changing room is awesome and the staff is friendly. What really works for me are the group classes. I particularly enjoy body pump and zumba. I never thought I would enjoy going to the gym and now I look forward to it. I do think it??s a bit expensive but it??s money well spent.

After having a baby, I really wanted to join a gym to help remove the excess weight I had gained. I had a one-month pass to Women's World and ended up buying a year's worth of membership since I liked everything about the gym. Women's World offers convenient lunch hour classes Monday-Friday. I love going to the Body Pump and Core and More classes and always feel like I get a good workout.
The staff are always friendly and some even know me by name. Best of all, I got my body back in a fun and motivating environment.

I've been going to Women's World for 4 months and I have been enjoying every day of it! The trainers are always helpful, I'm always greeted when I arrive and leave the building, and the locker room is always clean. I couldn't have found a better place to join!

I have been a member of Women's World for 3 months now. At the age of 24, I haven't felt this much alive since I was age 10 running and being active, lol. Everyone that works their makes you feel so comfortable and sure of your self. They also know how to 'keep it real' while still being respectful. I LOVE my personal trainer. She has so much patience with me and always know just the limit to push me!

I've been a member of Women's World for about four years, and I can happily recommend it. The establishment is no-frills, but the cardio machines all have individual TVs. They offer a good range of group fitness classes as well. I've also done personal training there and been happy. The best thing about it is the Kid Zone childcare- the ladies there are dedicated, conscientious, and friendly and my kids like to go, which gives me one less excuse for blowing off a workout. I think the price is reasonable for what you get, and I have never had any problem putting my membership on hold while I couldn't use the gym, either for extended travel or pregnancy. For the people who are complaining about not being able to get out of their contract, the problem might be that they charge less per month when you sign up for a year, so if you want to terminate early you have to pay what you would have paid per month for that period of time. That said, I hate the kinds of practices that make it deliberately difficult for you to conduct business- but I haven't had that experience at Women's World (though my husband had a nightmare at Gold's).

I cannot rate this business - Womens World of Tallahassee - because there are no negative stars to choose. Well to post I must give a rating so under protest I will give it a generous 1 star.

Once, I was in the building and did not find it to be a pleasant atmosphere. Bleak comes to mind.

I did not join but my daughter did and now it is a real problem to cancel. She paid her year's worth and sent in the cancellation form via certified mail. Not only do you have to send it certified but you have a certain time period to do it and if you don't it goes for another year and then again you have a time period where your can cancel it (shorter this second time around) and it will go on for another year if you don't meet their time requirements. And the cycle of life goes on.

I agree that reading the contact is important and maybe my daughter would not have this problem if she had read it more closely. I haven't see the contract so I don't really know what it says. Then again, she asked if the membership could be cancelled and was told it could. Of course she was not told how hard it would be and that there were time limits.

I think that this company uses bad business practices. They cannot keep customers the normal way. I dislike them very much and want people to be aware or really beware. It seems to be a tricky contract.

Hmm. They call it Womens World. Do they think women should be treated like this?

Netta M.s post about the cancellation form going to another state. Not true, unless it is Womens World sending it after you send it to them at a P.O. Box in Tallahassee. Also, the card sent to us saying that the membership could not be cancelled came from 1147 Appalachee Pky, Tallahassee.

update
Beware of signing a contract with these people. A good rule would be to never ever sign a contract with them and also and especially never, never give them access to your bank account.

The contract is a rolling contract and their rules make it difficult to cancel it. You have a window of time in which to cancel and you have to send a certified letter. No fax, no regular mail. If you don't get it just right you will be sucked into another year of payments.

My daughter, inexperienced and young, signed up. After almost two years she went to the gym and asked to see her contract and the person at the counter asked her why. Sounds to me like they may have something to hide although I couldn't say for sure. Yes, a lot of this is my daughters fault and now she has learned a valuable lesson. She is now in the process of trying to cancel the membership. I will write another review as this involved process goes along.

It shouldn't be this difficult. A business that provides a service should be able to keep customers by giving them a great product. If they have to resort to trickery then maybe their product is not so good.

I just think that people should be aware of what they are getting into. Especially young people who haven't had these kinds of experiences and are perhaps too trusting.

I had a 1-month free membership. I was apprehensive about the cost, and I let Tabby know about this up front. The staff was quite nice, and the center itself is very clean. The thing that got me was the price...I cannot justify $500.00 a year to work out. I had asked whether there was any other discounts they were having or whether they had a senior discount program to see if I could at least get it below $500...nope, she wouldn't even talk to me. I asked about the senior discount specifically because my friend who referred me, they gave her the senior discount. Tabby tells me there is no senior discount at all...it's the regular $39.99 price they charge for paying 1 year in full. I would rather have a customer than not...It's there loss at this point. I'm sure if I went to the manager, they wouldn't be too happy. Now that I think about it...I probably will.

I recently joined Women's World in July, 2010. When I called to inquire about the amount it would cost to join... they quoted me a fairly decent amount around $200.00 for 15 months... when I got to the club, it was a different story.. by the time she finished writing up the contract the total amount had jumped to almost $550.00!!! I was astounded but really needed to be in a club somewhere. Walking outdoors is good but the weight training really helps to keep the weight off. I wrote them a check so they wouldn't have access to my credit card and I paid my membership in full. Although I must say it costs way too much for a membership but when I weigh it with the possible health consequences of not working out, it's a good deal.

I agree, this place is AWFUL!!!!!!!!!!! They are such SCAMMERS!!!! I tried to cancel my membership because I was moving and they keep debiting my account, they have gotten around $200 of mine for nothing and when trying to talk to who is in charge of billing that person is never in or was let go. They are HORRIBLE!!! The BBB gave them and Gold's Gym an F rating. I had to close my bank account and I know if you get them blocked from your account somehow they can still charge you and get money. They are horrible and very unprofessional!

This place is pretty bad. I would go sometimes as a guest and they charge you $7. However, one day i went in and specifically payed for a yoga class and waited for half an hour for an instructor that never showed up! Because i came for a yoga class i wasn't dressed for the other workout areas so i payed $7 dollars to sit in the waiting area for half an hour!

TERRIBLE customer service. I am going to go in and cancel their direct withdrawal capabilities because I have gotten so screwed by mischarges and late fees. I wouldn't be surprised if down the road I get a charge for the service fees that were "waived" when I signed up either, so I want to be sure they don't have my bank info at that time. the actual gym is ok but the customer service is SO bad I'd rather not get in shape than deal with this headache. and by the way, what the hell is up with the plastic surgery ads all over the locker room? is that really the message they want to send? "if working out doesn't do the trick, here's a plastic surgeon."

while i agree that the paperwork/cancellation issues are difficult I have to say that the gym itself is wonderful. I have never found it over crowded and they seem to always be improving equipment. Each treadmill has it's own TV!! But for me the best part is the kid zone. I am very particular about who cares for my children and I have only good things to say about the ladies that work there! If any WW mnmgmnt is reading this, you should pay them more!

I am quiet pleased with my experience at Women's World. They are always adding equipment and have already remodeled the whole place and have not been open but a few years. I was concerned as well about the cancellation process. The cancellation letter had to be mailed in, but it doesn't go to the gym, it goes to their billing company in another state. That is why it can take a few weeks, up to 30 days to get you out of the system. Also, if it were me I would have called to check and see that the paperwork went through before I got billed again. You can't assume just because you spoke to the desk that is all you need to do.

This place has by far the worst customer service in Tallahassee.
They lied to me when I signed up by telling me that they will give me a free month. I had to catch that a couple of months later and had to talk to the manger to get it reversed, they placed a freeze on the account to give back the money and that was bogus, I had to stop by and show them the freeze.
After being fed up and I had to move, I asked to cancel, low and behold!! You will have to mail it to the gym, even though you are in it, wait 30 DAYS!!! and get charged for the month you are in and get charged another $50!
Also you will have to show proof you are moving.

I have never had this much trouble with any kind of membership, stay away, trust me, its a massive headache.

I agree with the previous comments that Women's World is one of the worst gym's that I joined. The customer service is awful and again to cancel your membership takes and act of congress.Good luck to the suckers who join this facility and want to cancel their membership. They will try and take you to the cleaners with their fees.

This club has the worst customer service experience in the Tallahassee Area. I would not recommend this club to anyone. It is over crowed and over priced. Do not give this club access to your credit card. they will try to suck the life out of you and your family. Just try running out doors and do your work out how god intended for it to be...free of blood sucking scums like the one that represents this club. Oh yeah do not try and cancel your membership because it will require an act of congress. This club will conveniently lose your paper works for months while you get hit with late charges half the price of the membership fee and they will charge it all on your credit card which you gave them access to. GOOD LUCK AT Womens World.

Women's World is a part of a new trend in Health clubs: women's only membership. The theory is that mixed membership clubs are not as inviting to women who are already self-concious about those extra ten pounds they want to lose. Given an all-women environment, women are more able to forget the social stresses and focus on their fitness goals. There is a kind of instant comraderie here, because you're all there for the same reason.

I did a trial membership with Women's World through a friend's referral. The gym is fully equipped, and they have plenty of selection in classes both in variety and time availability. If I weren't locked in a contract at another gym, I would definately consider Women's World.
