Well, Patty and Jason, you sound exactly like all the other whinning customers I have dealt with in MY business, my entire life.

Let me ask you a question. When you bought the car, did John Rogers Used Cars tell you they would repair the car if it broke down? My guess is, they did NOT tell you this.

Also, just a guess, but, I would place a bet on it, that they did just the opposite, they explained to you, that as soon as you drive off of the car lot, they car is yours, there was no warranty, and any and all repairs would be taken care of by YOU, the customer. You are even required to sign a state generated "AS-IS" form, called a Buyer's Guide, stating, that there is "NO WARRANTY" whatsoever on the vehicle. After you sign that paper, the dealership is then not legally allowed to repair your car, or it is then know as what is called, an "Implied Warranty," and they can then be stuck repairing every little thing that goes wrong with the car.

Also, if you would have bothered to have a mechanic take a look at the vehicle before you purchased it, he would most likely have found whatever problems there were and recommended whether you purchase that particular car or not.

So stop your whining, stop giving false representation of a company that was good enough to finance someone with credit as bad as yours, no matter how many repo's, bankruptcies, foreclosures, or evictions, you may have on your record.

You can walk into this place with as little as $300 to $500 and drive out in a vehicle instead of walking.

So, give us all a break.

I bought a car from John Rodgers and after a week of having the car it would not work. I had to take it to the mechanic and get it fixed many times costing me thousands of dollars. When I called the man who sold me the car (Dave) he hung up on me three times once he realized it was a customer calling. My advice to anyone buying a car is DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM JOHN RODGERS. YOU WILL LOOSE YOUR MONEY AND STILL NOT HAVE A WORKING CAR. Go to a car lot that is actually "reliable" and honest. Also, please disregard the positive reviews because they are written by employees. It is a way they market their business. Another thing, they will tell you to go to Greg's auto shop to get your car fix because he will give John Rodger's customers a discount. I suspect that Greg's is either owned by John Rodgers or is in cahoots with them. I believe John Rodgers sells half working cars (lemons) then sends customers over to Greg's to get them fixed so that both businesses can make money. Also, there are hidden things wrong with the car so even if you do a test drive or check the engine there still are things not easily seen wrong with the car. I just want to help fellow consumers who are struggling financially like me in a tough economy.

Never ever go to this place, NEVER....I've done business with them in the past and they told me whenever I am ready or need them, just come on down. Well, I was ready to get another car, called them and I was upfront with my financial situation, letting them know that I had half the money needed, but the next day I would be able to give them the balance, they said not to worry, they'll be able to help me because of my history with them. I took a $37.00 taxi ride from the east side, picked out a car, test drove it, brought all my pay stubs, my address, job, contacts and phone hadn't changed in five years, the sales guy said he'd be right back. He returned five minutes later telling me that the finance manager said no... When I asked to speak to the sales manager, I was treated like a second class citizen by the little clown! He dismissed me when I tried to explain that I was told to come down, paid 37 bucks for a cab ride and I needed to get to work. He didn't care, I brought it to the jerks attention that he was losing a sale and being there wasn't anyone else there, it didn't seem to smart to me. With that being said, he told me to leave and he also told me that he would never sell me a car. So to the tiny old guy that is supposed to be a SALES MANAGER, I say thank you for not selling me a car, your a very small man.

We are almost done paying for our first car. They let you do drive test and I had a good experience with the person that was helping us out. My experience was positive as he understood the needs of my family. I think when you can't afford a new car this is a good option. I might be visiting soon for a second car. I think the brand of car you choose for a used car has a lot to do. Toyota's are good :).
