Do not use this Inn! We get there and it the outside was completely dirty looked like it has never seen a pressure washer. The lobby area was nice. We walk into our Inn which they called Terrace our room number was 7610, they were so dirty there were bugs in the windows and the floors had stains all through out. They did not have AC in the halls at all so by the time we were done putting everything into the rooms up the stairs we were drenched with sweat. But then we get to the room, it was so dirty it seems it was never cleaned. There were stains on the floors, walls, furniture, and the sheets and blankets on the bed as well. Then it was a VERY hot weekend 103 and they had tiny window AC that did not eve keep the rooms cool, also there was no AC unit in the bathroom which did not help that either. In the other room we had had a wall unit AC which was held together by duck Tape did not keep the room cool either, on top of that in this room 7614 they must have had a water leak, which was fixed but looked horrible, they had a spot on the wall that must got damaged as well, but ended up painting it a different color then the wall so it stand ed out like a sore thumb. The rooms were what they called a Parlor Room, it was suppose to be 2 beds in the front and a 2Nd room that had it own bed, but what they failed to mention that it was a pullout couch bed. In room 7614 my nephew, went to pull out the bed and there were blood stains dead bugs and dust all in it, we went to get a blanket from the closet which again had dead bugs in it. They ended up bringing up a cot, because we would not even use it. In my room 7610 I did not even bother to touch the pull out couch was too scared. The fridges were extremely tiny and did not stay cold we had to put it as low as it would go for it to work. We were leaving the room to go to dinner and my kid lost 1 of his shoe so we had too look for it and checked under the bed we did not find the shoe but we did find a broken piece of glass and a razor head, what if my kid found that instead of me... On top of that they did not have extra pillows until the next day. They also ripped out the pages for the restaurants out of the phone book which thought was very childish. The next morning we all needed showers and realized you could not flush the toilet and take a shower or the water would get scolding hot, and if some other guest are using there shower same time you are it would get freezing cold. there were 2 good things that the pool was a nice size, but they never had towels down there for you, and they are walking distance from downtown (which could not use phone book for restaurants), We had breakfast at the hotel restaurant OVER PRICED, food was okay, but I have just as good at IHOP for $130 less. We went for the fourth of July and found out that they let everyone in the pool and sitting area, so basically even though we are paying all this money for a beat up old Inn we had to fight to get chairs by the pool and a spot to see the fireworks. We finally check out and find out that all the so called coupons they gave us for the Inn ended charging us for them, which I think is just nickel and dime in. So I spent $370 just in the rooms for 2 nights for a run down, stained up nasty Inn, I guess we all learn from our mistakes, but I am writing this so you don't have to.

Yes, this was one of the least expensive locations to stay at in Mt.Dora, but the old saying "You get what you pay for" is more true here then I have ever seen. The rooms are very small, the king size bed took up about 3/4 of the room, with just enough room on only one side for a night stand and a chair. The bed and especially the mattress felt like it was 125 years old! The mattress had a big dip in the middle and we couldn't avoid rolling there. The bathroom was equally as small, with a dirty old toilet, cracked toilet seat and a tub/shower with bad rust stains on it and the bottom of the tub looked like it hadn't been scrubbed. The towels in the bathroom were as rough as sandpaper. Amazingly, the clothes closet was very big...go figure? The air conditioning was a unit in the wall, and they had a sign that said not to turn it down below 72...but with the temperatures outside of 84, the room was stuffy and hot...so, we turned it down to 70. Get this, when we checked out, there was an energy surcharge on our bill! The hotel's restaurant, The Beauclaire, was pricey and the food was absolutely nothing spectacular. Breakfast for 2 people, simply eggs, bacon and an english muffin came to $23, plus they automatically add an 18% tip. The least expensive thing on the dinner menu was $18, we chose to eat dinner elsewhere.

We may go back to Mount Dora again, but we will never stay in this place again, next time, we will stay at Heron Cay, a beautiful bed and breakfast.
