The Guitar Exchange is by far the best shop I've been to in a while. The owner, Gary Kramer, gave me phenomenal and friendly customer service.\n\nI brought my Strat to him a few weeks ago and he made it sound so crisp and clean and precise, better than when I first purchased it. \n\nI highly recommend them over any other big company. How well can you trust musicians in their twenties who starve for any commission possible? They seem to care more about personal sales rather than costumer satisfaction.\n\n

Hello Hydelon,\r\n \r\nA friend of mine sent me your Citysearch review. Yikes! \r\n\r\n\r\nI have never ever sold a used musical instrument as a NEW one. That would be unethical and of course illegal. \r\n \r\nWhy would I rip you off or anyone else? To be ridiculed on the world wide web? No way! My store has been proudly built with hard work, solid reputation and many satisfied customers for over 12 years. I would never jeopardize that for anything. \r\n \r\nWhen I have a new guitar hanging on the wall, it has been 100% checked out by me. If the guitar has any problems I send it back to the manufacture, and they send me another one.\r\n \r\nSomeone from the Margate store has been telling some of my customers and others the same bull sh** story of guitars needing fret jobs, repairs etc. when they indeed do not. Apparently It must be pretty slow in the guitar repair dept. lol\r\n\r\nThey lied to you and stole your money. \r\n \r\nI really do wish you would have contacted me directly. We could have evaluated the situation and called the guitar manufacturers warranty dept if it was truly necessary. \r\n \r\nI know that I have not addressed all the issues in your review, but at the moment this is the most serious of concern for me.\r\n\r\nI am truly sorry for your experience so far.\r\n\r\nIt has been 5 years now and I do not remember who you are or the guitar in question, so I invite you to PLEASE just come into the store with your Guitar Exchange sales receipt in hand. i went there with a fender strat. all i wanted was a simple set up and for 50 bucks it sounded decent. the guy gary was nice enough and left my guitar. when i came back there was a buzzing to my guitar which it NEVER HAD! i told him that there was buzzing and he said that its always been there but he will try to fix it. after a few seconds he comes back saying he couldn't do anything about it. now i cant play the D string at all! how does this guy have the nerve to tell me it had a buzzing the entire time when its my guitar and i know what it sounds like? i been playing for 10 years with this guitar and i know he messed it up. as i waited there i inquired if he had a les paul for sell becuase i wanted a led zepplin sound. he said i could get that sound from some other guitars but as i said i only wanted a les paul he got ticked off. so dont mention to him you want something he doesn't have lol. \n\nhad to take my guitar to sam ash down the street something i did not want to do because they robbed me of $90 but it works perfectly now. but that's a different review.

To Hydelon, \r\nBecause of your untrue review of The Guitar Exchange I feel I must do a little damage control for one of my favorite guitar stores. I can prove that your review is false. When other music stores let you return guitars up to 45 days and then sell them to someone else those guitars should be sold as used, but often are not, like at Sam trash & Guitar renter. The Guitar Exchange does not do returns, so If you really purchased a guitar in the first place it would have to be a brand new one or a pre owned guitar that would have been tagged USED and in great shape like all others in the store, All the guitars both new and used are already set up and ready to play at no additional charge! They do not sell "" beater"" guitars or instruments in need of repair. They just don't do it. There are many other places to buy that kind of instrument, like a pawn shop. This is one of the main reasons the Guitar Exchange is still in business with the same owner, Gary Kramer, for over 11 years located just around the corner from Sam Ash. I know for a fact Gary does his guitar repairs and set ups with Ernie Ball strings. He uses them on mine and on my friends guitars. Ernie Ball strings are good enough for Jeff Beck, The Stones, Steve Vai, Angus Young, The Eagles and many other pros. Why would they not work for you? Who are you? If you did indeed actually purchase a guitar from the Guitar exchange why would you wait 4 long YEARS and then write an unfavorable B/S review during the Holiday shopping season? What is your agenda? Are you an employee from another music store? Why don't you provide the sales receipt from the Guitar Exchange showing you purchased a ""new"" guitar from the Guitar exchange or the Sam Ash repair bill with serial number? You cant. It really is a shame that any one can anonymously spew out such crap without any merit and have others potentially believe it. That being said, my band, guitar buddies and I will continue to recommend and support Gary and the Guitar Exchange for the best customer service and deals around. \r\nIf you appreciate great guitars and great service, you have to check this place out! Pros: cool guitars, friendly teachers and atmosphere

I had several encounters with that place. It was where I bought my first real good guitar, had lessons and bought several other products. \n1. the guitar that was sold to me i love obviously so that is a positive. the guitar was sold to me with very worn out frets. i know Gary did not do this on purpose. he has contacted me to fix this issue. so i know it wasnt him. that being said i never touched the guitar because i was to busy studying. it stayed in its case and i never played it because it was to much of a pain to tune (floyd rose bridge) now because of my ignorance at that point in time i thought the frets came looking like that all the fretts where worn out especially in the E G and B strings. i didn't know it even needed to be re fretted until SAM ash people told me about it. being several years i did not go to Gary but he did find out about this and he was kind enough to hear me out. this issue is being looked at by him right now. so it shows he does care when his name is on the line which is great because thats the way it should be. if you have a problem DONT do the same mistake i did go to Gary he WILL help you out. \n2. the lessons i received were great. i don't want to get him in trouble (my instructor) so i wont mention his name but that incident showed me an ugly side of Gary that really ticked me off and unfortunately i experienced several more times. truth be told i don't know if my instructor deserved to be yelled at but come on don't do it in front of the customer/student. if this was a single incidence i wouldnt have brought it up and id still be going there. i WAS a customer there for several years.\n3. The string incidents. i don't know if he is still doing this but he had some strings in a box unwrapped. I forgot if he said he made them himself or they were specials he had but anyway they were cheaper and he claimed they were just as good as the more expensive earnie balls. i thought it was because of the tremlo i had in the guitar that it kept breaking but i had to buy 4 or 5 more of those strings and they would break in a matter of days and last maximum a week. after getting fed up of going so much i just got the earnie balls and they never broke until they corroded. so please IF he is still doing that . don't buy his cheap strings. \n4. Gary was rude to me a couple of times. to be fair he is a nice guy but if he gets in a mood its really annoying. yeah im bitter about the guitar he sold me but not bitter enough to defame him on false accusations. one time i was asking him on how to tune the stupid floyd rose tremlo system and instead of helping he just said look it up in a nasty way. I DID look it up before i got there but it kept getting out of tune every single minute i just wanted help because he was the one that suggested i get that guitar because of it. I honestly was shocked of how little he cared if I was genuinely asking for help. im not rude i didn't DEMAND help or treat him disrespectfully (he handles stuff i care about i know better!) but he was treating me like if i was pissing him off and i just got there! if you're going to buy something he will be the nicest guy but after that I was shown otherwise. \n

I recently just started playing guitar and the Guitar Exchange has made it a snap. I have tried lessons elsewhere and was really disappointed in the price and teachers. The prices at Guitar Exchange are the best and Ray is a great teacher. I really recommend the Guitar Exchange.\r\n

I see many people trying to get a time spot with his teachers and I certainly back him up for removing you from the schedule, so he could fill it up with a more serious student and or parent.
