There aren't an abundance of beauty supply stores in the area that are open to the public, and Sally's meets the needs of the average consumer. The staff is knowledgable and courteous, if not educated and friendly. They stand by their products (return the unused portion with a receipt for full credit if you're not satisfied) and are willing to discuss options with you and give advice that is solid, if not professional.

I've always enjoyed my shopping trips there, and they have great sales and selection of salon-quality products at a far lesser cost.

I have shopped at Sally's for years, both as a cosmetologist and also as a consumer. They have a pretty decent selection but I would suggest they employ a cosmetologist to answer hair advice questions. Being a licensed hairdresser, I know that the advice they give is sometimes wrong. Case in point, my daughter went there and was sold a stripper to remove color from her hair and was told it would do no damage to her hair. Completely untrue, it's a harsh process and one best left to the professionals.

Other than that they have a good amount of product on the shelves. We still use them, I just advise the people I send there not to take advice unless it's a licensed pro giving it.

There is too much that can go wrong when using chemicals on the hair.

PROS: Lots of selection of product and good sales
CONS: No cosmetologist giving advice on hair color
