Autosafety Driving School

I highly recommend this driving school. As a father, who was teaching his son to drive. I thought I was doing a pretty good job and I originally wanted my son to sign up so I could get the insurance discount. However, I was really surprised at the things they taught him that I overlooked, because it's second nature to me and I was just assuming my son was already doing certain things. They were also better able to explain things so my son could understand. I never realized my son wasn't looking ahead properly while driving. I was under the assumption that he was since nothing really major happened while we were driving, but the instructor was able to notice that my son was only looking at the car ahead of him and not paying enough attention to cross traffic and traffic further down the road. He also noticed that my son wasn't properly using his feet when going from the gas pedal to the brake pedal. I always assumed he drove with his foot over the brake and would pivot to the gas pedal. I didn't realize he was moving his whole leg from the brake to the gas pedal, which is not only less safe, but was also the reason my son would kind of take off hard and brake hard at first. I didn't even think to look at my son's feet while he was driving. Besides the lessons themselves and what they taught my son. There was always someone there to answer the phone, they were always on time for all my sons scheduled appointments, and they were always very courteous. It's for those reasons that I say, that they exceeded my expectations.

While the owner and his son were "nice", it is a very unprofessional operation - Do Not Recommend!! They entered into a legal contract with my 17 y/o son, while I was out of town (oh yea, one can't enter into a legal contract with a minor)....without any communication regarding a written contract during my three previous phone conversations. In good faith, I paid the entire fee in advance....needless to say, I am taking them to Small Claims court to get my money back!! They did not meet the verbal contractual obligation with me - the adult.

Pros: Owner and his son were nice - but I was not looking for friends!!

Cons: Unprofessional Operation - did not fullfill obligations
