I have been taking lessons there for the past 4-5 months. I have had two different instuctors who are very knowledgeable and are great teachers. I go to the group beginning classes and eveyone is nice. I have been to one of the parties and everyone danced with me and made me feel right at home. I plan on going to more. I am so happy there is a dance studio that is close to home and a wonderful place to learn. The only down side is parking downtown , which is not there fault, if it's at night when I leave someone always walks me to my car. All in all very happy with Downtown Dance Studio.

I learned to dance there. My teachers were Jim Lowell and Pat Laakso, and both are excellent, well qualified teachers. Pat moves forward at light speed, and Jim teachies and polishes the proper lead-follow technique. Jim is an outstand technician. I never once had any problem whatsoever at the studio in the ten plus years I danced there. Jim and Pat started a teacher training syllabus at my request. I learned to teach and have taught (not at Downtown Dance Studio) for the last eight years. I have nothing but good to say about the studio, the staff, and the students.

This is the worst place you could go to take ballroom dance lessons. The area has a smell that emanates from the rotting river behind it or the sewers, or maybe the trash in the area. The regulars that go there are NOT friendly. They are in fact hostile. Not just rude, but outright hostile to new people. It is NOT a learning environment. You will feel uncomfortable, and unsafe. The Regulars will stand on the sidelines and make catty remarks about you. If you have any dancing ability at all, they will be jealous as if their territory is being invaded. I took lessons there and had money stolen from my purse while I was taking the lesson. I was assaulted in the street by a gang. There is a bar just half a block away that attracts bikers and hookers. The cops are useless and don't protect people because they want to keep up the facade of no crime in the area, so they don't do anything about crime. they are useless.

This was a horrible experience. Do Not Go there. If they don't like you, they will blackball you at other dance places. I don't think they are even capable of teaching you to dance just for a wedding.

I was treated with hostility and aggression when I took lessons there from total strangers who do NOT know me yet chose to act with hostility towards me by going out of their way to run into me on the dance floor, ignoring dance space and intentionally running into me. some of the females spread lies about me all over town and are cyberstalking me and spreading lies to every dance place they can find throughout the dance community to ostracize me. They made catty remarks because I dressed nice. HA. True I wasn't wearing jeans and a tee shirt but I wasn't even dressed nice enough for church. I was barely dressed nice enough for work yet that was a big issue, I wore slacks and a modest blouse. Plus I fanned myself because I was hot and having a hot flash and I was told I was trying to be better than them. Those people are NUTS, small minded, jealous. There are people there who go out of their way to break up relationships, just to prove they can do it with no concern for the consequences. I have only tonight, 9 p.m.. after dark, seen the park only 2 blocks away from the dance school full of cars, who goes to a park after dark and for what? It's right near the park where the state representative was arrested for soliciting a hooker. It has a long history of crime, a long history of being unfriendly, unwelcoming and everyone knows it. People all over town say they never go there cuz the "regulars" don't want other people there, people all over town say downtown is not friendly and that trying to get involved in any activity intitusville is risky because of the factions and clicks that are hostile and retaliatory.

Been dancing at this studio for ten years and find it hard to dance anywhere else. The instructors are well trained friendly and professional and the prices are fair. There is no high pressure sales tactics or astronomical "rent" fees. The atmosphere is laid-back and the instructors teach at a steady pace. The instructors do a very good job of tailoring the lessons to fit student's learning style. Beautiful location!

I was sad to see that this studio received only one review and that that review was negative and biased.

I took dance lessons here and was accosted by a female who worked there who was jealous because her boyfriend who was there to take classes was assigned to dance with me by the Owner. This man denied he had a girlfriend, brazenly flirted with me. They had a big fight, I was threatened and had lies spread about me all over this small, putrid, pathetic, nasty little town. Trust me, they are not friendly, they are not warm and not welcoming, they are not capable of handling the dance school. The teaching was third rate. The cost was tremendously high, especially compared to what you get. If you go You must have a partner to be safe. Don't let your partner dance with anyone else and keep your partner by your side for Protection! Be careful of the steep stair well that you could be pushed down by a jealous female.
