The Fox has returned to serving excellent food and the service is great. We had the Prime Rib special and it was delicious.

The Rusty Fox has the best Filet Mignon in the Orlando area. We frequent the Rusty Fox and have found that the food is always fresh and the service is great. On Saturday Nights (usually) they have Cream of Mushroom soup that is the best I have ever tasted. I can't wait for the weather to cool down to get some nice hot Cream of Mushroom soup to warm me up. I would give this restaurant and try, you won't be disappointed.

Open again after remodeling which is very very nice. The prime rib is as good as ever. Worth the trip over from Tavares. Nice drive thru country takes U to a dandy dinner. Good drinks, cold beer, good food. What else do U want????

I had never been to Rusty Fox until recently, but I understand it's under new ownership. It was really wonderful food, I especially loved the Laughing bird shrimp -such an unusual name I had to try it. It was REALLY good, I would get it again in a second. My husband liked the prime rib the best. the second time I went, we just sat at the bar and ate munchies. The French Onion soup is super (better than in France!) and the steak Fries were some of the best I've ever had, crispy on the outside, creamy potato on the inside, makes me hungry just thinking of them! Mixed drinks were generous on the alcohol.

I haven't been to the Rusty Fox in quite a while, but understand it's under previous ownership and refurbishment. We're looking forward to the day it opens, there has been quite a bit of activity at the site.

I also cannot believe this restaurant got positive ratings. Looks like maybe the owner or staff are improperly reviewing - note that all positive reviews recommend the same items. Bad first impression - you enter into an obscure "vestibule" type area which serves no discernable purpose before actually entering the dining room. Dining room is generous, since it is simply two big open spaces with tables. Absolutely no ambience or intimacy is attempted or achieved. I have been there more than once and on each occasion we had a young, inexperienced server who always looked disheveled and complained about being too busy or not having enough help. On to the food - disappointing on all levels. The fried foods (hard to screw up) were ok - cheese sticks, fried shrimp, french fries, etc. But the meals were not good. In a party of 6, 1 meal was incorrect and had to be re-made. 2 ordered a broiled seafood platter that turned out to be about the size of basket from Long John Silver's - but this platter cost $15. Tasted terrible. Also, server brought the dinners out "as they came up" which meant that the early dinners were cold by the time (15 minutes later) that the rest came out, not to mention the fact that we were all uncomfortable waiting for the whole table's food. To summarize: terrible service, terrible and over-priced food, disgusting and dirty facility. Just a bad experience every time.

Disappointing.

We read the reviews here and thought we'd give it a try. There are a dearth of decent restaurants in Clermont and we hoped this was a diamond in the rough. It turned out to be just rough. When we walked into the entrance we were greeted with the musty stinch of mold and mildew. We were seated quickly and our spirits rose despite the dungeon feel of the place. Our server greeted us with a harried look, greasy hair, and sweat beeds permeating her face. She took our drink orders and returned with them quickly. She said she would be right back... It was at least 10 minutes later when she came to take our order. We ordered an appetizer and two entrees. The appetizer took so long that we had already finished our soup/salad before it arrived. It was then that I noticed a roach scurrying across our table. My husband used his "ninja" skills and killed it by catching it in one of the small butter tubs that came with the bread. We were tempted to leave right then, but we were still interested in why this restaurant received such good reviews. The soup, salad, and appetizer had been nothing more than average, so we waited for our prime rib and rack of lamb... and it was a wait. The entrees came a good hour after we had arrived. I ordered the prime rib medium rare, but it was medium at best; my Husband's lamb was slightly better, but nowhere near excellent. Our bill came to $40, plus tip.

Our search for a decent place for dinner in Clermont on a Saturday night continues.

The Rusty Fox is not necessarily my favorite place for ambience, however, the Prime Rib is to die for. My family and I go often and have never ordered a bad prime rib. Rusty Fox is close to home and always offers a great meal.

Love the Prime Rib and the fried cheese cake. I never fried cheese cake before and absolutely fell in love with it. Over all the restaurant could be updated on in the inside. Very Old fashion, but yet quaint even still. Good service and good food.

We frequent the Rusty Fox about once and week and they have the best Filet Mignon around town. They also serve Cream of Mushroom soup on Saturdays and it is the best tasting soup I have ever tested. I love the atmosphere and the wait
