When I first moved here I was very happy. The neighobrhood seemed nice and the houses looked in good condition. Also, the benefits of living in military housing appealed to me. As time went on, I realized that it did not live up to what I expected. There is no security, which I was told was 24/7. It seems like the staff here thinks they are above the city police. The houses are updated to an extent, which does not include energy efficent windows. The drafts are terrible. Most of the employees that work in the area give no respect to the military and are rude when asked to do their job. We choose to live here because we thought we would be respected and have help when our spouses are away. This not the case. Is it too hard to ask for respect, and what is expected of them????

Pros: Beautiful neighborhood

Cons: Terrible staff

I'm the wife of an active duty military member who decided to live in Pensacola while my husband was abroad-
The management team at Mariner Village is the most unprofessional ineffective group of people I have ever encountered. Over the course of my residency, I was lied to on so many occasions that I lost count. At several points in time it just seemed these people would rather lie than tell the truth. Anyone deciding to move into this place needs to consider all of their options and definitely use this one as a last resort- unlike most military housing sites, this place does not enforce ANY of the rules or regulations that residents sign when they move in. there is no limit on teh number of pets a household has and residence just let their animals roam free (which is in violation of county ordinances) the yards are horrible and the resident is responsible for the upkeep.the homes are VERY very little and outdated- no carpet and the insulation is pathetic. With yards full of sand, weeds and fleas and the home itself antiquated I just can't imagine anyone being happy once they move in. Plus the lies and the deceit that a resident gets from the management is just beyond explanation. There is also NO security whats so ever AND management gossips and advises other residents when a woman is living alone because her husband is deployed. There is absolutely nothing positive to be said about this management team or the housing- except maybe you get what you pay for- because it is free
