National parts is just a new name for International Parts. When you call they go online and look for what you need. Then up the price. I understand that many years ago they were okay.

I started out needing a rebuilt ecu @ $360 then my unit was determined to be beyond repair so it was another $150 to AES for a "new unit" (which is actually used).

The new unit didn't work so I called AES and days and days later they finally tell me it has to be programmed by Nissan, something they previously told me would not be the case. So basically, I ended up wasting so much time and money I should have gone with a new ECU from Nissan. For your own sake, don't try to save a few bucks with AES, you will regret it in the end.

They also don't take refunds if you use the ECU, they are painfully slow getting back to you and getting the ECU back to you, and there manager argued with me instead of helping me.

Their whole business model is stupid because they don't want you to install the unit yourself (DIY) but what's the point then???? They only make sense if you want to save money and DIY. If you pay them and then pay a mechanic too you might as well have gotten a new ECU which is a better product and will end up costing you the same $ as AES. Buyers beware.... AES is horrible.

The manager I spoke with told me the unit had to be programmed by Nissan and that "they told me this". That's a bunch of B.S., my sales rep told me I wouldn't need to program my ECU at Nissan whether it was my original or the new one! he said if my car started then it worked but apparently that's a lie--they will LIE to you to get your money and then --GUESS WHAT-- suprise, suprise, no refunds allowed! what a bunch of jerks!

Got duped by SearchParts.com and it cost me $340.00 to return something i didn't even order. Bought a transmission and asked SPECIFICALLY to not be sent a junkyard donor part, but THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT I RECEIVED. THEIR SALES STAFF SUCKS, HIS SUPERVISOR IS BELOW IMBECILE LEVEL AND PREPARE FOR A LOT OF ARM TWISTING IF YOU WANT SOMETHING BACK FROM THESE FLY-BY-NIGHT MORONS. PT BARNUM WOULD BE SO PROUD OF THIS COMPANY.

THE SHIPPING CHARGES THEY SUPPOSEDLY IMPOSED??? SHIPPING FROM WHERE, LEOMINSTER MASSACHUSETTS WHICH IS ONLY 55 MILES FROM MY SHIPPING ADDRESS. IF THAT COSTS $340 TO GET IT 110 MILES, I AM CERTAINLY IN THE WRONG BUSINESS. THE SALES REP HAD NOTHING TO SAY WHEN I CONFRONTED HIM WITH THE FACT THAT I HAD NOT RECEIVED A CALL FROM A FREIGHT COMPANY, IN FACT IT WAS FROM A JUNKYARD IN LEOMINSTER MASSACHUSETTS CALLED ET COTE'S. DO NOT DEAL WITH THESE IDIOTS, YOU'LL PROBABLY REGRET IT AS I DO.
SALES REP ALSO STATED THAT MY PART HAD BEEN TESTED AND CERTIFIED...I'VE BEEN A DIY TYPE FOR OVER 30 YEARS, HOLD TWO ASE CERTIFICATIONS, EVEN TOOK AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION COURSE AT A LOCAL COLLEGE AND I WOULD NOT CERTIFY A TRANSMISSION TAKEN OUT OF A DONOR VEHICLE AS "A-ONE" AS I WAS TOLD, NOT POSSIBLE TO FULLY BENCH TEST AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION, THERE ARE TOO MANY VARIABLES AND A FULL TEST IS JUST NOT POSSIBLE.

This company was a nightmare and extremely shady. I ordered a computer on the 7/20, was told 5-8 business days, 8 being the longest possible wait. i called on the 5th day to check the status. the guy who i ordered it from was nowhere to be found. after days and days of calls and messages on his voice mail, i was ready to call the BBB. Then i noticed on their email confirmation i was sent that they are a division of Searchparts.com. I called this division and explained how i havent been helped what so ever with the situation. This guy was very apologetic and told me that the original guy had been fired and my order did not get placed unitl the 5th business day. he assured that it was arriving at their facility in a day or two and would be overnighted to me after the reprogramming was done. This was on a monday and he said the LATEST would be friday. again, i call on thurs, guy is MIA. Call again on friday, he tells me they received it that day and i would have it monday. monday comes and i still had no computer, i asked to speak with a supervisor but there was no one available. After another day of phone calls i finally got through to him because i pressed the option to order a new part instead of the option to check an existing status on their sutomated system. I asked for a refund and he said i would receive it. After not receiving the refund i contacted the BBB and they promptly gave me my money back. some how they retracted their confirmation email they sent me once the BBB was involved. It just disappeared from my inbox. This company is horrible to deal with and i have no idea how they have an A- rating on the BBB even though they are not accredited. Avoid them at all costs

BEWARE OF National Parts Llc. They LIE to you...TAKE YOUR MONEY WITH A PROFESSIONAL SCAM PROCEDURE. I write this in hopes of saving another person from loosing money dealing with SEARCHPARTS.COM AKA NATIONAL AUTO PARTS.
To have such an impressive website, they RIP YOUR MONEY FROM YOUR CARD, only to worse case refund partially, even if you get that.

Yes, the company should be shut down. A Scam that just takes your payment and a bogus diagnostic fee that is not refundable.. Just like you, they told me my computer could not be built, and I would need to pay extra for a rebuildable core. I said NO, and for Johnathan is to ship my computer back to me....I have found one for less thru Autozone. Immediately, Johnathan charged my card the full amount of repairing my computer, and as of yet, no refund has been issued, and my computer, which I need for a core he still has.
An AWFUL EXPERIENCE, one of the WORST online SCAMS out there is SEARCHPARTS.COM

These people are total crooks. Do not do business with them. I dealt with a guy named Russ who sold me a used engine for my Volvo. It's a very long story but the engine had to be removed twice after install for all kinds of problems, including a blown head gasket. Russ promised over and over again that they would take care of the added parts costs (labor is my own expense, and I'm ok with that). Once I sent receipts to Russ, well, that was the end of any communication from him. All of my efforts to reach him or anyone else on this issue were met with a runaround. My next step is disputing payment with cc company and then to attorneys. If anyone wants to talk with me before they deal with these crooks feel free to call me: 262-524-8099 x-101.

These people should be shutddown!!! I paid for a reman engine jan. 26,2011. The salesman called himself doctor ivan>> lol!! anyway he told me that the 2.5l nissian engine was in stock and would be at my shop in 3 days. After i ran to my bank to take out a loan for the engine b/c we didnt have the money but needed our car working right. anyway, i paid for the engine and i got a call from ivan the next day stating that the engine was not in stock. He told me that the engine would now ship out monday jan 31, instead of me having it by jan. 31. I said ok, and asked if i would be supplied a tracking number when it was shipped. The salesman told me yes. I waited untill tuesday feb. 1, 2011 to call back. I finally got ivan back on the phone and he told me the engine was already shipped and i should get it by friday feb. 4, 2011. I asked for a tracking number and he said he would have to see if he can get one. I called back and ask to speak to a manager. some guy named cassey got on the phone and stated to me that the would be shipped out first thing monday feb. 7, 2011. now i am very furious and i get to reading reviews for this company. Before i even brought from them i looked at the BBB org. and they had a A- rating. I asssumed this company had an A- rating from bbb then they would be good to go!! After speaking with the manager cassey i asked him who was doing the motor and he told me a company named AER in texas. So, i looked them up and called. I was informed By AER that my engine was another 2weeks away from being done!! The rep told be that he told national auto parts that too! I called national auto parts and asked why was i being lied to and asked for my full refund! I am still awaiting what my bank tell me if and when the funds ever come!!! I plan to expose this company!! The news stations and internet sites need to expose this company! this time and age it should be easy to record calls and video what actually they are sending people. They lie and lead you down a path of Bull to get your money!! join me in shutting them down... email elton.getresults@gmail.com

I was charged by Nationla Parts Wholesale of FLORIDA (Chase did not give details of what city) on my credit card whcih I do not use. They attempted to charge it 3 times: $2100; $1900, and then $1800. All were declined and I had to close my account. I called the number listed in CITYSEARCH and it is a fax number. Be careful if dealing with this company.

I too have fallen victim to their scam. They had me bring in my computer to rebuild and was supposed to be done within a day or so, only to be called back 3 days later and told my ECM could not be rebuilt! And that I'd have to give them another 100 bucks to get a rebuild-able unit! WTF is that? So they offered refund less 85.00 bench test fee!

It sounds like a scam: they take your part, tell you it's bad, get 100 bucks more, then they rebuild YOUR part and give it back, or they steal 85$ bench test fee! It's a win-win for them. Stay away from this company! Go to a reputable parts supplier like Advance or the dealer.

I heartily agree with the comments posted on their scam tactics. They'll sell you something you don't need because they'll tell you your part is bad, then charge you extra to adjust their part for your vehicle. I recommend you file complaints with the BBB so that no one else gets ripped off. They also go by the name National Parts out of Florida.

They insult their customers, lie and do not return phone calls. Stay far away from this company. I know for a fact they do not have a perfect record with the Better Business Bureau no matter what they tell you. Number of complaints processed by the BBB

I called to order a part i was looking for that the dealer did not have and was very pricey (3rd brake lamp assy)
they located a part and gave me estimated delivery within 2 days for less than it would cost me in gas to drive to a wrecking yard and pull one myself. on the morning of the seconed day my parts Dr. called me to let me know my part had been lost by ups . confirmed by tracking number and a replacement would be sent out the same day. so i orderd an abs unit for my wifes car for less than $100 delivered. (dealer price was approx $1300 new. both parts arrived the following morning and were exactly what I ordered. other online or remote services I have used would leave me waiting untill I called to find out where my order was. They also allowed me to pay by check # being i do not use credit cards by phone or internet. I am impressed with service and will call again and reccomend.

My husband ordered a motor for our explorer thru these people. They did not send what they said they were sending.. and did NOT send any "Installation Instructions". I heard my husband tell them THREE times our truck was an AUTOMATIC.. they sent a STRAIGHT SHIFT motor. They gave us an extended warranty to have the mechanic switch it over for us. That done, we got the truck back and within 40 miles, we could have used it for a mosquito screen! It was DUMPING OIL IN THREE Cylindars. Mechanic said he had never seen that before. Now they want to say our mechanic didn't following the instructions, so we have no warranty?? They are just crooks from word go. NEVER DO business with them.. We are hiring a lawyer and reporting them from the BBB.

Pros: NONE

Cons: You will be screwed!

.

The reviews on here are completely true - THEY DON??T return phone calls. NEVER, EVER buy from National Parts unless you want to end up with a faulty product and have their crappy warranty department tell you it wasn't their fault. They will even try to blame it on your mechanic! I am making a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau in Jacksonville. Everyone should do this. Hey Walt, why don't you grow some Ethics and help out the people your company is screwing over right now!?

It is easy to throw stones when you do not give your customer information so that we can tell our side of the story. For everyones information, having an A+ rating with BBB requires that you have no unresolved complaints and that you do not have a high complaint rate. The fact that we have an A+ rating with the BBB, and our competitors do not, should say something about us. We have a complaint rate of less than 1% over the more than 100,000 customers we have served. If the writer of a review does not give information that allows for our side of the story to be told, the review should not be considered credible.

I'd say, partly based on the previous reviews, "Don't buy used engines or transmissions from ANYBODY and expect them to be like new!" For that matter, companies like National shouldn't bother selling them. You're just asking for trouble. I bought a used engine once from another company, supposed to be low miles, blah blah blah, & that was a piece of junk, too. Had to sell the car (which I loved) because of money by the time I was done with it.

That being said - I needed a new engine management computer for my Dodge Stratus. New ones are $750 from the dealer, and you can't use one from the wrecking yard (Dodge programmed them with the VIN numbers, etc for a few years and you can't swap used parts). National Parts hooked me up with a remanufactured unit and saved me about $400. They went through great trouble to make sure I had the right computer (my car has California smog, which meant it had a different computer than most), I had all phone calls returned promptly and I'm happy. And yes, I'd do business with them again. In my case, they did what they said they'd do, in the timeline they said it would take, and that's better than too many other businesses I've dealt with.

I purchased a complete motor which was stated to have 6900 miles on it. I had it shipped to a Ford dealership for a mechanic to install. The mechanic was also a son in law of mine. When the motor was installed it would not turn over. The mechanics removed the engine and still could not get it to turn. When I call National parts they suggested we start to disassemble the motor to find the problem. I refused to do this since the motor was stated to have 6900 miles on it which we paid extra for the low miles. Plus we would have had to pay additional labor to have it diagnosed. I also had a hard time getting calls returned. They did finally agree to take the motor back but have charged me freight and a 20% restocking fee for returning a defective motor. We complained to the business bureau but National parts response to them was that the dealership had miss lead me into saying the motor was defective. This made to sense at all. National parts said that when the motor was returned to Doug's Auto Recyclers in MI the salvage yard inspected the motor and said it was in working condition and they found no problems with it. Yet 3 Mechanics at a ford dealership could not turn the motor over. Beware of this company. They are difficult to deal with and they don't know what they are selling.

I feel that my experience with National Parts was pleasant. My warranty specialist Richey handled my claim like a professional. I had a problem with my engine and the warranty works just like they advertise. I will recommend National Parts LLC to all my friends. Yes, I had problems with my engines but I had no problems with the customer service. Bid Tumbs Up to National Parts. Thanks Rickey.

Well, lets see, 2 months ago, I purchased a used engine for my car. Paid at least as much as other places, but fell for the line they give you on the phone about "good standing with the B B B. The first engine sent was installed by my Mechanic, known locally as an expert engine installer, and know to me to be so. He called me prior to installation and let me know that the engine looked like it had been sitting out side for over a year. It was rusted badly, and the aluminum parts were oxidized. Other parts were covered in greasy black mud, and the engine intake parts were clogged with carbon and a rodent nest in the exaust manifold. As soon as the the engine was installed, it had a very noticable knock. The engine was no good. I had paid $1400 BUCKS TO HAVE A USELESS ENGINE INSTALLED!! I contacted The "Partsoligist" (They are all called that), and reported the problem. This is were it got really bad! Over a month of calls to voicemail, no matter how much I begged the operator, and finally was told I was going to get a partial refund of the installation cost, and promised me a good motor to replace the bad one. ANOTHER MONTH WENT BY!!! I called and called. They dont return your calls unless your buying something. Then finally they said they were sending a motor, even told me where it was comming from(they dont ever even see the motors, they are just parts hounds for junkyards), Well, now its 2 days late, my car is dismanteled, and the mech. is furious. He is loosing money because one of his bays are taken up with a dismanteled car. Now , here I am again, calling to find out where my the engine is, and of course, I get voice mails, and no call back. I havent been able to use my car for 2 months. Nice way to treat a service member!!!!! Dont use this company!! I am Making formal complaints. I must get the word out. I have all the calls documented and recorded. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY PLEASE!!!

My experience with National Parts was much different than the other reviews I found on this site. In July we lost the transmission in my wife's supercharged 2001 Buick Park Avenue Ultra. My trusted mechanic could only find one used transmission in Ohio, but that one had 119,000 miles on it. Not suitable for a car with less than 50,000 miles. He recommended waiting a while to see what might turn up. I went on line to see what I could find. That's how I ran across National. I called, talked to one of their "Partsologists", Buck Williams, who called me back with some options, one of which was a 50,000 mile used transmission. Before ordering it, I did my due diligence, including looking for reviews. The only site with any National Parts reviews was this one, which I found very discouraging. But I went one step further and checked with the national bureau that reports on business practices, where National had a clean record. On the strength of that report, I ordered the $900 used transmission and charged it to my Discover card. It arrived at my mechanics shop in 2 days. Unfortunately, the tag on the transmission from the salvage yard National had found said it had 119,000 miles on it! Turns out it was the same transmission my mechanic had found a few days before and had rejected. To make a long story short, there had been some sort of foul up somewhere. But, to the credit of the folks at National, they had the transmission picked up and issued a $900 credit to my Discover account. We subsequently have had the old transmission rebuilt locally and have hopefully solved the problem. National handled the whole matter in a prompt professional manner, consistent with their history at the national bureau. I also found Buck accessible whenever I called, or he would return my messages as we sorted out the matter.

They can supposedly "get ANY part for ANY car".. yeah, right. I ordered a part for a 77 chevy malibu. & for over a week the charge was pending on my bank account.. then disappeared, and the part never showed. So i called to talk to the "Expert Part Doctor"(they are all "doctors" there :| ) and i left a voice mail which was never returned. So i called back today and was quickly transferred to another voice mail. So i immediately called back and was cut off by the same operator and transferred to yet ANOTHER voice mail. So i called back and said that whoever was transferring me was being very rude and that i would like to speak to a supervisor.. and guess what?? it was the same exact operator from the 1st two calls, so she began to get irate because i called her rude. Well, the "Doctor" finally gets on the phone and tells me he's been too busy to return my call OR TO CALL ME AND TELL ME THE PART CAN NOT BE FOUND!!? and thats why my bank account was never charged.. the part was never on its way!! I would NEVER ever recommend their service. ever.

I am the one with the transmission problem below..they finally did give us back $580.00 but would not give the other $165.00 . said that was for shipping two bad transmissions. when we ordered the transmissions they said nothing about shipping..just we owed them $745.00...we were lucky I guess to get the $580.00 back..they promised to call back time after time, but did not.. we would call and be put on hold until we finally hung up...order at your own risk..that is what we did..learned a hard lesson..did not know there were compies out there that would treat you like this...Good Luck to all who read this...God Bless you all

We are still trying to get them to pick up the transmission we got from them...they are suppose to inspect it and tell us if we did something to it...they know the two transmissions they delivered to us are pieces of junk and know they can not sell them anywhere else that is why they will not come and get them and return our $750.00....we called them again today to come and get them..we should have know better than to order them from out of state company the way we did...but they were in our phone book and we trust and have faith in people ....I will let you all know what hapens...if they get them and return our money..they know they are junk...BE CAREFUL PEOPLE...DO NOT LET THIS HAPPEN TO YOU....$750 IS A LOT OF MONEY TO US.....like I said I will let you know what happens...I do not know if the Better Business Beaura looked into it or not as we have not heard from them....would like to think that they did...they are suppose to look out for the consumer

i purchured a long block engine(fully assembled, ready to run, bench tested engine) from nation parts ,& it DID NOT RUN, so they told my mechanic to follow all these steps to correct the problem. my mechanic knew what was wrong, but they insisted he follow their steps.
when the problem was finally fixed (IT WAS WHAT THE MECHANIC SAID IN THE FIRST PLACE) it cost me $949.50 trouble shooting labor.national parts llc. says they will not reinburst any labor expences, to fix a defective part sold by them.
so, MY ADVISE IS TO STAY CLEAR OF NATIONAL PARTS LLC. YOU WILL GET YOUR PARTS, THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY, BUT THEY WILL NOT BACK WHAT THEY SELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!
