I nor my wife have ever been disappointed on the quality of food or service. The New York Strip w/chipotle butter is very tasty and I would like to suggest to ask for either Stephanie or Kyle... their customer service practices are top notch. The sweet potato fries are like the Bloomin Onion was about 10 years ago.. a common vegetable prepared in an un common way which provides a unique taste.
I have read some other reviews that are less enthusiastic than mine to which I say "if you don't want to eat there then don't" but there is no denying the quality of food or service. Quite truthfully, this is the most consistently very good food and service establishment I have ever dined at. Some places are good in either area some of the time; Big Bear is very good all of the time!!

Pros: Everything

Cons: Nothing

My husband and our friends thoroughly enjoyed dinner there. We met there as it was in the middle of where we both lived and we wanted a place where we could talk and get good food. It was great. Casual dress, food was good, service was quick and reliable. I definitely would go back there.

I have found the food here to usually be good but the menu can at times feel limited after repeat visits. The beer munster soup is my main reason for returning as is the Sunday brunch menu. The beers are typically disappointing however but I have not been to a micro brew resturant yet where the beer was not disappointing.

Pros: Nice atomosphere, good food and service

Cons: The menu can seem limited and the beer is nothing special

We went here after meeting the owner the night before, he told us he the best Calamari in town, guess what if you like oil and crust with no Calamari on a bed of french fries, you will love this.

The service was slow and they messed up most of our orders.

The beer was also real poor, we had just about every beer they made in house.

I can not even believe they call this a brew pub, not even close.

This is a very nice place that serves beers from their microbrewery. The food is good (I really like their Reuben sandwiches). They get busy at night so get there early.

PROS: Good food

With all the microbreweries popping up around town, it's hard to tell one from the other with one exception. The Big Bear Brewery is in a class of its own. Sure it has home brewed beers made right on the premises, but what separates this microbrewery from the rest is the food and service.

Begin you dinner with Big Bear's signature beer cheese soup which is served in a bread bowl. Another great soup is the clam chowder which is chock full of clams not potatoes. Or try one of their salads, which are so large they could almost be a meal in itself.

I highly recommend Big Bear's meaty, fall-off-the bone ribs. Steaks here are tender and cooked to perfection. I've had the catch of the day on several visits and found the salmon or dolphin to be fresh and mild. Not a meatloaf lover myself, a dinning companion raved over Big Bear's distinctive version of this American classic.

Looking for a lighter meal? Big Bear also serves a variety of pizzas, which are mouth watering. Hamburger aficionados will not be disappointed with the large, juicy ones served here.

If you're not too stuffed, desserts are both a visual and edible treat.

Do take the time to taste the beer. If you can't decide which one to have, try the sample tray. You won't be disappointed. And, for the under 21 set, there is even a home brewed root beer.

Really fast service, even in peak hours (the management/staff keep it moving very well.) Great servers, wonderful food (I recommend the Chicken Pot Pie and House Salad with Garlic Buttermilk Dressing!!!) Bathrooms clean and comfortable to change an 8 month old baby. I recently even went out to lunch with a coworker who brought his baby as well and we both sat comfortably while babies napped. (it's kept somewhat darkly lit, as it is a brewery and has that sort of atmosphere.) Wonderful root beer-rivals IBC in many ways. Prices are comparable to a Chili's or Fridays. If you like different tasting beers, they have many varieties and I believe have a sampler combo you can order.

PROS: Fast Service, Friendly waitstaff, Great food, Great Date or family place
CONS: Darkly lit-if you like a bright restauraunt not for you

The beer cheese soup is great. The beer sampler is only 5 bucks for 45 ounces of assorted beers. My waitress Katie was HOTTTTTT!!!!!!! The restaurant decor was very comfortable and inviting. Overall, a good experience

The menu says fall off the bones ribs and they mean it. The ribs are amazing. The garlic smashed potatoes are incredible and the pork chops are to die for. Great food, great service, good prices. Everytime I make a trip home I put this place on my agenda. 2000 miles for food - it has to be good, right?
