Donut Hole Bakery Cafe

Every year as a child when we were leaving Destin from family vacation my dad had to stop for breakfast at the Donut Hole. I have never ate the donuts but the pancakes are delicious! I love that place!

I first visited this quaint little donut shop about five years ago and I think about it every time I pass a Dunkin Donuts or other donut shop....There's NO COMPARISON!!! The coffee is good, they have wonderful cheesecake and other desserts, but the star of this bakery is their phenomenal donuts! I love a classic glazed or a good cake donut, but their more exotic flavors like "key lime" and "Vanilla Angel' are to die for. One of my most favorites is the German Chocolate cake donut- it is fabulous! They have cute mugs and other souvenirs for sale (I bought a coffee mug)- but the place doesn't seem "touristy" at all. You feel like you've discovered a locals secret the moment you walk into this bakery. If you are in the area, I would definitely stop in. If you aren't in the area, I would seriously consider making the drive. To coin a phrase from a more well known shop: It's worth the trip!

This is definately one of the areas best kept secrets. They have some of the best pasteries in town. The other food is great as well. But what people don't know is that the desserts are to die for. The service is great and friendly. They serve Breakfast and Lunch and are worth the trip just for dessert!
