This center has really gone down hill in the last few years. My child has gone for the last 3 years. The coaches are very young, and rotate in and out, so at this point I'm not sure how much she is really getting from it. She does seem to enjoy it. However, the desk staff is absolutely the worst. On a good day, they ignore you, chatting happily amongst themselves. Other days they come off as not bright enough to provide basic customer service. The oldest lady there is flat out rude, and will plainly tell you she doesn't have time to deal with your issue. The owner has never called me back when I tried to address these issues. The gymnastics seems fine, but I'm about to change gyms due the desk staff.

My daughter competed for this gym for years. Years ago I believe this was probably a good gym. There seems to be a down grade happening amongst the quality of both gymnasts and coaching staff. When you pay for recreational classes, you get what you pay for. However if parents want competitive gymnastics, this gym lacks the ability and accountability from the coaching staff. There's no certifications of the coaches for parents to see! In fact, if you ask for them, you will most likely encounter an attack from the owner who is the Hitler of gymnastic coaches. Children are getting hurt in this facility and people go back because they think it's the only place in Ocala to go to for gymnastics. It's not and if your child is serious about gymnastics, this gym will suck the life and talent and joy from your child. I am devastated for all the children that have no choice but to go to Balcony. Since the whole coaching staff is made up of young adults that used to compete for Balcony as children then applied to coach as teens, they are all ready easily manipulated by the owner to carry out his dirty work. They do and they will physically neglect and intentionally hurt your children if they do not care for them. If you have any sense as a parent, you would do whatever you had to do, to make sure your child doesn't end up a local has been by going to this gym.

This is a great gym. The only thing I can say about the customers complaining here is lack of comparison and lack of paying attention and personal responsibility. The price is fair and up front. The "policy" is very fair and UP FRONT. They do not require a year contract like your cell phone company that you don't question. A two weeks written notice is VERY common and not unreasonable. Again, we were told all of this before starting up just like everyone else so we could make our decision. Now that that's out of the way:
My wife and I are particular about where we let our children go and who they are allowed to be taught by. We came and observed the gym a time or two and spoke to the trainers personally before we decided to sign up our 7 year old daughter. I'm her father and I was a gymnast a long time ago and was already aware of the expectations of gymnasts. We communicated that to our daughter and even tested her attitude about it before we all made our decision. Gymnastics is not day care or babysitting. It is gymnastics. It requires discipline, training, safety, respect, obedience just to start with. I have seen them deal pretty well with some "out of control" kids.
We have found this to be an excellent gym (and I have a comparison). The trainers are courteous, organized, and friendly. This gym is producing National Competitors for goodness sake. They teach young children, to teenagers, to adult classes which I started taking recently to see what I can still do. The facility has all of the equipment necessary to train and is as clean as a gym can be. The price is fair and gymnastics equipment is very expensive so again the price is fair. Our daughter is excited about going, has not gotten hurt at all, and is getting direct instruction from her coach. BTW - whoever the other commentor is: Do you realize that most elite gymnasts are between 15 and 28? Yes there are older teenagers teaching the much younger children but that is niether rediculous or uncommon. There are seasoned coaches as well for more advanced training other than teaching your child to tumble and such. This gym deserves a good review, so go and see them for yourself like we did and make a good informed decsion. No I do not work for them nor am I related. I am just an ex-gymnast that wants to give them the credit where credit is due!

This place is like a bootcamp. 8 yr old son would come out of there crying. He had to drop and give the coach 100 push ups. what kind of establishment is this? I did not sign my child up for bootcamp. It should be a fun place for children. They have young teenagers as coaches and they show no compassion for the kids. No smiles, no encouragment. Take your child somewhere else. Not worth the tears.

Overall, a nice facility, and the staff is nice enough. Lessons are just okay. My main beef is that I just don't like their payment policy. You're not allowed to phone and cancel. It has to be in writing. I phoned and cancelled. Then I mailed a letter after receiving a bill. They continued to bill me for the 6 weeks NOT USED. There is no reconciling; there is no bending. Their policy? "Sorry, that's our policy!!! Pay us now. Here's your bill. Pay us. Pay us. We're going to send you for collections. It's just OUR POLICY..." So I'll end up getting strongarmed into paying for 6 weeks worth of services NOT USED/NOT RECEIVED. I just don't like the way they do business. I'll never go back. I don't do "ruthless"; it's MY POLICY....

My son came here after attending Elite for several years. At 1st we thought the only reason we were leaving was because gas prices had gone up and we needed a place closer to home. But once we got there, we realized we had been missing out on so much while at the other place. The people here are friendlier, and they teach the kids so much more. Plus there isn't a large turnover of instructors. I recommend this place!

This is a gym that grew into a complex that offers lessons, workouts, private instruction, team competition, you name it.
If you have a son or daughter interested in cheering, dance or gymnastics, this is a great place to start. There is a big emphasis on safety and careful progression to excellence
good investment
