We recently stayed at Eden on the 8th floor. We had a unit, 2bdr, that had been redecorated and it was outstanding for the $. The staff and management were fantastic to work with and every morning asked how our night was. The balconies are great and the view is magnificent. We enjoyed the place so much we re-booked an end unit for a week in November and two weeks in May. The staff took us around to show us numerous units for future visits. I agree some were dated and that the end units in the west wing have a good view but other condo's are next door. Though the east wing was the first built there is nothing but sand and beach for the view and it is outstanding. Great view watching the sun go down. We were especially pleased with the parking which was covered indoors and easy access to the elevators. The grounds are like being in the garden of Eden and quite beautiful. For the bucks its hard to beat. We also found the entire facility kept extremely clean through our entire visit.

PROS: A place to feel at home and comfortable.
CONS:

Eden was one of the first truly upscale condominiums on Perdido Key. Its architecture is striking, but some of the units are quite dated now. On our last visit we got a unit which was furnished out of a 1980's Sears Catalog, and had a few other cleanliness issues. The Eden staff were remarkably professional and gracious in making up for these drawbacks, and even gave me a substantial discount when I brought them to the manager's attention.

The best things about Eden are the fabulous swimming pools (the huge outdoor pool has a large waterfall), and the end units which feature enormous terraces (some are literally hundreds of square feet) with fantastic views. I highly recommend geting an end unit in the east tower as there is no highrise development on that side and the view of the gulf is tremendous.

You can get more modern amenities at a lower price elsewhere on the key, but if a huge terrace and awesome pool are important to you, it is worth the sacrifice. Plus most end units now overlook another highrise.
