I have ate here regularly for the past thirty years plus (see below history). I do not remember when it morphed into the current great breakfast/lunch stop. This establishment and it's predessor always had a Jewish culinary flare. Although the current owners are not Jewish, they make the best Latkes (Patato Pancakes). There Bagel-W Salmon, lettuce, tamatoes & capers is a lite and just right breakfast/brunch. If you have a big appetite try the "Bronx Burger". It is cooked to order with Black Angus Beef. The portions are large, juicy, full of flavor. Like Pavlov's Dog my mouth is watering thinking about it. There is a fresh bakery of breads, Pies, cakes etc. All the products and ingrediants are of high quality. This high standard is in all culinary delights served here. I never have been disapointed or left unfulfilled.
The current owners are from one of our staunches reliable allies, Great Britain. They are a hard working family, who operate on a break even profit margin. I came to know John, Caroline, and children over the past few years.John is a retired Royal Marine of 25 years. Ironicaly he is a student educated in micro biology. Not something you would expect from a professional 'Combat Arms' experienced "Soldier of the Sea". I've observed Chef John wash his hands with diluted bleach. This prior to inserting them into sterile surgical gloves. Always prior to food preparation. Guess it comes from the Micro Biology knowledge "Ya think!" Caroline has a back ground as a professional musician, she trained to be a concert pianist. This family could have been a great subject for a Norman Rockwell painting.
The history of this establlishment's location goes back over thirty years. Originaly Beneva Rd. was walled off for Forest Lakes developement. This was just North of this restaurant which was a family grocery/deli at the time. President Gerald Ford stayed at a residence near by. I believe he came by in a "John Q public" photo-OP. I have a white house sticker off a phone he used, while there.

Good for breakfast or lunch. Good bagels, great sandwiches with a wide selection available. Variety of deli items, including some delicious breads! Reasonably priced.
