My husband and I stayed at the Ocean Holiday Motel over this past weekend during the "Where the boys are" beach party...we both thought it was a wonderful place. Yes it's an older motel, but has character, and the free parking was a bonus...We stayed on the forth floor in a beautiful room with an ocean view...The room was much bigger then I anticipated...kitchenette, full size refrigerator, microwave, toaster, coffee pot, dining table and chairs, vanity and a walk in closet with hangers provided. The staff was friendly and the room was extrememly clean...our room was cleaned every day and we recieved fresh towels...No smoking in the rooms, but ashtrays were provided on the balconies...It's a great price for being right on Ft lauderdale beach...I highly recommend The Ocean Holiday Motel if your looking for a great place to stay for a reasonable price...

Me and my husband were taking a cruise out of Ft. Lauderdale in early March, 2009. We stayed at some hotel on the beach for one night before our cruise. What a nightmare; we got NO sleep because of all the noise from the spring breakers by the pool all night long. Well, we obviously did not want to stay there again (I forgot the name of it, thank God). So, after our cruise was over, we chose our accomodations much more wisely. We looked at a few different spots along the beach, but most were too expensive or just plain filthy, until we found the Ocean Holiday Motel, also right on the beach!! We stayed there for 3 days to soak in the sun and visit local friends. These accomodations were outstanding!! The rooms were clean, location was safe, and best of all we could sleep in peace!!! This place apparently caters to couples and families, because we never saw or heard any spring breakers. It does not have a pool, but you don't need one. We had a great time at the beach located directly across the street. We were very close to everything we needed and could not have asked for anything more. The service was pleasant and very affordable. We recommend the Ocean Holiday to everyone.

Pros: Excellent location and price, and its quiet and clean.

Cons: nothing

We had reservations in advance, but when we arrived no one was there to let us in. A lady who didn't speak any English finally called the manager, who took 30 minutes to drive to the place to let us in. He gave me keys to a room that was occupied, so I had to stay with a colleague because he was already gone by the time this was figured out. We were quoted $65 per night, but were charged $85 per night. The shower has no shower head and is spitting out ocean water. The towels don't get changed with the daily maid service. Everything was old. Sketchy at best. The manager was rude and was ripping us off. No computerized system for reservations or confirmation of prices. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! It may be beachfront, but there are ZERO ammenities and it is sketchy.

PROS: beach front
CONS: no ammenities, highway robbery, rude service

My husband and I stayed there not too long ago just to get away for a day even though we live not too far away. . It has typical "beach" decor, but it is old inside and needs some work. The rooms are small, but comfortable and the staff is friendly. There are good restaurants and activities in the area, and we did not spend a lot of time in the room, anyway, for it to matter that we were not in a palace.

PROS: good location
CONS: somewhat old, needs work

I had been driving for days and was just at that brain dead point. I was looking for somewhere affordable to stay a few days to get my bearings and decide what to do next when I spied a sign along A1A that promised really cheap rooms right there on the beach. I ended up with a room for the week at the Ocean Holiday Motel for $280 plus tax. You really cant beat $40 a night right on the beach, right?

You get what you pay for.

This is a three-story number with mostly enclosed parking (free). The office is only open from 10AM to 8PM. The owner lives off-site so youre on your own if you have any problems the rest of the time. She does charge an additional $10 key deposit.

I had room 206, which was a small single with a full-size bed, a small fridge (which served as the TV stand), a long 6-drawer dresser, and a small built-in desk. Now about that desk there are no outlets anywhere near this desk, which pretty much renders it useless. There is no Internet access anyway though so I guess that makes the whole thing a mute point, eh?

The room dcor was a mish-mash. For example the bed skirt didnt come anywhere near to matching the cheap comforter. This is an old building and it shows. The walls show many signs of being patched.

The TV is advertised as having cable, but the channel selection was poor at best. I think I got 2 regular stations, the weather channel, and a few Hispanic channels.

The bathroom was small but adequate. The shower/tub combo had plenty of hot water and the pressure was good. It was surprisingly clean given how slipshod the place is otherwise.

Although there are signs everywhere giving phone rates, there is no phone in any of the rooms.

So no, even though its fairly cheap in the low season and well located, I cannot recommend this place to you. There are too many very nice places in the area that really arent all that much more.

PROS: On the beach
CONS: You can do much better
