I have been a part of this studio for two years now, and I love everyday of it! Everyone is so friendly and happy to help. It's not just a place to go and learn to dance, it's a place to learn how to be comfortable and confident around

We have been very pleased with our experience at this studio. We have been taking lessons for over a year. Each time we have purchased a "package" we have been given a receipt stating what we agreed too. In addition a record is kept of each lesson for which you initial. Depending on your desire in dancing "competition" or "social dancing" we have found they will work to your goals.
We have been very happy with the level of instruction offered by the instructors at the studio. We do know that there are instructors trained on site and from what I understand, many instructors at other Jacksonville Studios began with Dance Elite.
We have made many great friends, good people and dance partners via Dance Elite and are glad to call it our home studio. Many of these friends have been taking from Dance Elite for many years which would lead me to believe they are also satisfied with the studio.

Pros: Great People, Friendly Atmosphere and plenty of opportunities to dance.
Cons: We are never home at night because now we are out dancing... and my feet hurt :)
First - The post from danzaman on May 29, 2008 is NOT from a student but from the instructor Christopher Crisp at the Avondale Dance Studio.
Second - This dance studio is very unprofessional and does not follow the Dance Studio Act (Florida Statutes s.501.143)
**Florida statues REQUIRES all dance studios to provide a contract for EVERY package and services provided. They fail to do this.
**A dance studio may not use oral agreements as contracts. This is how this studio operates.
**The instructors are NOT certified to dance by any dance standards. They are taught in-house. Typical new students, have a instructor that has only been there a short period and is still learning what they teach.
**This studio skirts around resolving issues, by hiding behind the statutes that they themselves don't follow.
**Statues states that a studio may not falsely assure/represent to any customer that a given course of dance studio lessons will enable him/her to achieve a given standard of dancing proficiency. This studio does not follow this. When a package is presented to a student, they are under the impression that a certain amount of lessons will gain them enough dance knowledge to move them to the next level.
**My suggestion to prospective dancers, do your homework, would you rather pay a little bit more per lesson for a "real certified" instructor or would you rather pay less and get an instructor who is not certified to teach and is only a few steps ahead of you in dance knowledge???

Pros: teachers,classes,private lessons
Cons: none
The teachers are trained by the other teachers at the studio that do not have formal dance training or certifications. The group classes are taught by these new instructors that are not even teachers yet. They are not even in training three months before they are given individual students. If you have ANY dance experience at all, Dance Elite is not worth the money they charge. When asked a technical question in group class, these instructors are unable to answer my questions. And I'm only in Bronze III. They are not trained in the whole Bronze syllabus before they are trying to teach students that are on their same level or higher. Please ask your instructors at any studio for their background in dance and their qualifications and/or certifications. Ballroom dance is an expensive hobby and you should be getting instruction that is worth the money you spend in the studio. You will not get that here.
