For Miami Beach standards this hotel was a very good deal. Probably can get a room for around 200 or less if you look. It is in a good area, nice clean rooms, pool was nice and good beach access. The breakfast was good, cooked by a friendly cook. Compared to other hotels this one was really nice. If you can afford a resort like the Delano or Satai than go there but if your looking for a good value this is probably the bst.

Cons: no parking

These guys were so disorganized that once I finally got them, then an English speaking "them," on the phone, they still couldn't even make my simple reservation. I shudder to think what it would be like to actually stay there.

I found a great deal for this hotel through the internet and I am thrilled I found it! You can't beat the location - on the water and one block from Lincoln Rd. It is wedged btn the Raleigh (where you can pay more than double) and another famous hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I had a terrific room, small compared to most hotels but quaint, and very clean. I was lucky enough to be on the 5th floor, with access to the rooftop deck. Great breeze and great to relax. Pool and cabanas on the beach!

Great location. Can walk anywhere plus it's oceanfront/staff helpful, rooms need updating. Not enough outlets. Front desk help cheery & helpful. Very convenient with metered parking on 17th Street.

The Richmond Hotel is not much compared to the Loews or Delano, but if you're looking for decent prices and convenient beachfront property to stay at while in Miami, you're in the right place. I booked a 4 night stay in August 2005 for an average of $85/night using a summer promotion. When I first arrived, my room was not a superior room w/ a courtyard view as promised. I managed to switch rooms, but only after a lot of complaining and the new room would only be ready the next day. Not too great customer service. The 2nd room had a great view, but did not do so well as far as cleanliness. I think the bathrooms need major renovations. There were quite a few ants around the bathroom and on the desk. You can't keep any snacks around otherwise they will definitely get to them. The 2nd night, their central air conditioner system broke down and it was sweltering, but was fixed by the next afternoon. The swimming pool was very nice and they also had a hot tub w/ beachfront access. The only complaint i had about the pool area was that they need to replace their beach towels b/c they looked 10 years only w/ bleach stains on them. They had a snall restaurant which i didn't get a chance to eat in. They also offer a buffet breakfast for $10.50/person. You can find better elsewhere if you don't mind walking a little. Overall, i would say that if you plan on spending most of your day out of your room and are able to book the Richmond at $85/night then this hotel would suit you.

PROS: Nice pool/hot tub, beachfront
CONS: Customer service, bathroom, unreliable A/C system, ANTS!

We stayed for three nights and had to switch rooms twice--could've been three, but we gave up. First one, room hadn't been cleaned. Second one had a wall that shared the bed's headboard with the elevator. Third room's a/c didn't work. Stick with a queen bed--the "king" beds are actually two twin beds pushed together. No outlets in the rooms if you want to charge your phone.

The hotel staff was useless--except for the guy on the nightshift. Little effort was made to locate clothes we had accidentally left when we switched rooms--it took over an hour to get it from the lost and found. Took 25 minutes to get car from valet.
