The Y has been around forever and with good reason. They offer a huge number of activities for old and young alike for very fair prices. You can enroll your daughter in gymnastics, swimming, basketball and more. From fun to serious instruction, your choices are many. Cost varies widely and if you pay for a membership you get all classes at a discount. Your son can play basketball, practice martial arts, swim or play soccer. (and oh, so much more!). There are different offerings for different seasons and you will always find SOMETHING to interest your child, if not, they are probably lazy and you need to sign them up for something fast! :) As a parent, you arent excluded from the fun. You can get a fitness membership at their very nicely equipped gym and they even include child care. There is another fitness center in town that offers "free" childcare, but you will pay out the nose for this free service. Granted, at the Y you wont get 100 treadmills and 50 stairmasters, but there are plenty for most needs and the weight machines and free weights are more than sufficient for a good, sweaty, fat-burning workout. They offer assesments and fitness tests as well instruction if needed as well. They have lots of aerobic classes if this is your thing, so dont pay the big bucks for a fashionable gym if you just want a good workout but dont want to pay an arm and a leg for it.
I love the Y and there are so many choices you wont know which to pick. I think this is a good thing!

PROS: Many sports and tumbling classes for kids at reasonable prices.
CONS: Best center is way in NW, so can be inconvenient if you dont live nearby.
