Chapel Nazi is putting it mildly and an unsatisfactory rating is still too high for this place. I know this town is supposed to be a little bit of Germany but really?? WWII is over.
Our niece's wedding was this past weekend and needless to say she unfortunately did not research the place. Besides being ordered around, in your face and yelled at, they screwed up the DVD so only the candle lighting and kiss are on the DVD and the rest is a movie of them taking pictures of us, although it is proof of what a jerk this guy is so if anyone wants to view it, let me know. Don't let these people ruin one of the most precious days of your life and leave you without any record of the day.

The Alpine Wedding Chapel in Helen, GA is absolutely wonderful. My husband and I were married there on March 3, 2012 and it was such a special ceremony in a quaint little Chapel. The ceremony was serious and solomn. We were treated wonderfully and our Video and photos they did for us were great. Tomorrow is our 1st year anniversary and we just watched our video. I can't explain how special they made it for us. We had no guests there but they made us feel as though we were the most special people in the world. We Would truly recommend this Chapel.

My husband and I got married in that Chapel back in 2006. I tried so hard to tell my story in the paper because you are right he IS a "Chapel Nazi." Please, Please do not us this Chapel. I will tell you a couple of horror stories; however, I do not have enough of space to put it all down. We paid $795.00 for a small wedding with a reception to follow. The time was from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. By 4:20 all the food was taken away and was told to leave. You pay for the food but do not expect to take it home with you and do expect for owner to eat your food (caught that on tape). NO ONE can take pictures or videos of the wedding or even play your song. The owner picks your one song and he takes the pictures and video tapes. You dance your one song and that's it. No more dancing, just elevator music. It was terrible that is all I can say. I cannot stress enough to look somewhere else, you will be sorry, like we were. In fact, my husband and I are having another wedding just to erase this awful one. It is not your wedding, think of it as the owner's wedding because you have so say in it. Find Another Place!!!

My husband and I eloped at this chapel on April 12, 2010. Our pictures were beautiful. The owners were nice but he was a little controlling. My DVD was okay quality, and my picture CD was perfect. Helen was a perfect place for a honeymoon. We had the best 4 days. The little chapel was perfect for us. The owner even talked about how we were perfectly dressed and that I was a beautiful bride. He was very nice to us. He talked forever and told me he wanted to put our pictures up in their chapel. I was very satisfied. Wonderful place for small weddings. Our wedding couldn't be any better and for $300, we had everything we needed. I would definitely use this chapel again for a small wedding!

I was the maid of honor in my friend's wedding this past weekend, and the owner/minister/photographer/videographer/wedding planner ...was extremely rude. If things didn't go the way he wanted he would get a pissy attitude about it and say rude remarks. I didn't realize it was his wedding. No one was allowed to take pics inside the chapel or "garden room" for the reception. He read the entire wedding ceremony from a day planner. When it came to the kiss, he tried to cut the kiss short.
When the ceremony was over and it came down to doing pictures, he was extremely rude to the bride's family about what pictures he should take. He wanted the pictures the way he wanted. He did take pictures of everyone who stayed in the chapel to take pics but when it came to taking candid pics ( the best pics to take ) he didn't really want to take them.
When it came to going across the street for the reception the NAZI in him came out, no one was allowed on the green carpet unless he directed them to be. The bride didn't have a selection of songs to choose from for her first dance and father/daughter dance. The owner's wife said some of her cds where basically stolen from the chapel. ( they do not like playing music that you bring in ) Needless to say the bride was stuck with a song she didn't care for, for her first dance. The father/daughter dance was to a pretty song, but I can tell the bride didn't really care for it. During that dance, the bride was having technical issues with her dress. When I attempted to fix her dress for her during her dance, the owner was "pissed off " because I got on the green carpet and I was on the video. Um, hello, I was not going to have my bride uncomfortable during that dance since she was stepping all over her dress.
The owner cut the best man off when he was trying to give a toast to the bride and groom.
The food was ok, but nothing to go wow over. The meatballs were cold and no had no flavor.
When it came to doing the garter and flower toss, the bride wasn't able to sit on a chair so she had to stand while the groom took the garter off. I was not allowed to help because I wasn't allowed to step on the green carpet.
I felt he rushed through everything and the bride didn't really get to enjoy her day the way she deserved too. Not only that, but being how the only pics allowed to be taken came from the owner himself, when the bride got her cd, it was BLANK ! The bride has no pics of her ceremony or reception. Thankfully family and friends did take pics outside in the cold, but the pics that the bride and groom really wanted are not available. The owner didnt even want to meet her to correct the mishap. Really? are you serious? She paid a lot to have her wedding there and you couldn't even meet her to give her what she paid for? She has to mail the cd to you? Who runs a business like that?
When she got her dvd of her wedding, there was only 2 mins of her ceremony! the last part at that. Her ceremony was atleast 15 to 20 mins long. The bride really doesn't have anything to show anyone who wasn't able to come to her wedding. what was supposed to be one of the most important and exciting days of her life, turned out to be far from that. STAY AWAY FROM THIS CHAPEL! IT IS NOT HOW THEY ADVERTISE IT OUT TO BE.
Other than the rude owner and a couple little mishaps, the bride was beautiful and the groom was very handsome. It turned out to be beautiful sunny day and the couple was surrounded by people who care a lot about them.

The owner was such a jerk! I paid over $1300 to have a DVD of the ceremony AND a photo CD... the DVD has TWO minutes of the ceremony and the photo CD is blank and they refuse to even give me back what I paid for it. They told me to mail it back to them (even though I was close by). They refused to even meet with me. I MADE our toasting flutes... they all came back destroyed. My guests named the guy "Chapel Nazi". When my husband was doing the garter... they wouldn't even let me sit in a chair!! DO NOT USE THIS CHAPEL!

everything was great except the man in charge watches everything you put on your plate. if you get more than 5 meatballs, he asks are you going to eat all that? and he's bossy. also, they dont let you take indoor pics. he takes them all. some of mine came out blurry. pics that i cannot retake. the video is poor quality and you can't hear it good. the part where you and your spouse put cake in each others mouth is dark. cant really see it. the video cameras , 2 of them, are mounted on the wall. not near the food. someone should be doing the taping manually.

My husband and I were married at the Alpine Wedding Chapel in Helen, Georgia. Helen is a fun place for a wedding, since it is a simulated Alpine Village and it's not hard to imagine yourself in Germany or Austria. The chapel will only accomodate 40 people, so it's not for people with large guest lists. In addition, there is a tiny chapel for only 10 people for very intimate but special ceremonies, and a beautiful garden room for services with 25 people or less and for receptions. For really low prices, the wedding packages provide everything you need from music to flowers to the food and drink for the reception, and it was all beyond my expectations. Even photos are included in the price. The only thing I would suggest is that you provide your own bridal bouquets and any other flowers you want to keep, as the silk flowers they provide are only for use for the ceremony and have to be returned. The time is also limited; one hour for the ceremony and, I believe, one hour for the reception. But the quality of everything is excellent, and for couples with limited time and/or budget, it's a real bargain.

PROS: charming chapel and garden room, all-inclusive, bargain prices
CONS: limited choice of music and service, flowers are only on loan, limited time
