THEY ARE A MARKETING COMPANY...
THEY DO NOT OWN ANY EQUIPMENT OR VANS.

The fact that the reviews are all over the map comes down to the fact that they dispatch other vendors to do the work.

They pay the vendors very little to do the work. (less than half the "cupon" price)

The vendor doing the work takes a loss on every service call.

Best bet is to use a company with its own equipment.

The service will be better, you get what you pay for.

Brad came out to clean my carpet and stairs. He is so nice and so professional. He spot cleaned for no extra charge. My shag carpet is bright again!

I called them Friday afternoon and they had my carpets and furniture cleaned in time for my parents to come over that Sunday. I will keep using them!!

They have never done me wrong. Always a good job at a good price. I have used them for 2 decades now. If there is ever even the smallest problem, they take care of it.

WORST SERVICE EVER ! I scheduled my service for the time between 12p-3p, never heard from or saw the company. I had to call and check on the status, as the rep on the phone stated they could not get in contact with the tech guys and that they did not know when they would actually show up, what a joke !!! I will NEVER attempt to schedule this company again. I canceled my appt. since they obviously dont know what they are doing. I guess the old saying is true," You get what you pay for", or in my case you just cancel.....HORRIBLE !!!!!

NEVER AGAIN
will never call this company or recommend them not having any previous experience with flooding I looked to this company for the best recommendation to save my carpet from a recent flood. they came in and used a wet vac. The next day, carpet still soaked. They returned and repeated the same. What they should have recommeded was removal of the carpet to dry properly and removal of the pad to allow the floor to completely dry before treating with a disinfectant for mold. I paid them $175 to do nothing to correct the problem. After a call where they openly admitted that the recommendation should have been made, their offer is a refund of $75. My point in calling them in the first place is to get sound advice as to the correct steps to take. they failed miserably..

I would like to say the only reason I'm leaving this message is to save you the HEARTACHE!!!!! Here are the facts:1) The appt was not kept2) They were later for the rescheduled appt3) My wife and I really think the guy had a substance abuse issue.4) He was a constant ramble/babbler using inappropriate language.5) He lied******************************************************************now the good part******************************************************************6) After he was done with his smoke break he asked for a drink. I was standing in the kitchen and heard a loud crash! He shattered the glass table in my foyer!7) He was only concerned about me calling his company!8) The entire truth came out about his company.....pure foolishness!9) He's called 5 times since he's left to see if I was going to call the office.10) I got all my $$$ outta the guy and left him outside in the rain. I'm never dialing this Hounds Tooth's # again! I don't care enough to call. 11) I really hope someone reads this and decides not to use this place! You'll be sorry you didn't listen! I was thinking, "awwwwww they cant be that bad", trust me, THEY ARE!!!!!!!!

Before I hired this company to clean my carpet, I visited this site to read reviews. I was left feeling unsure due to the negative comments. When I called Houndstooth's 800 #, I explained my concerns and was assured that if I was unsatisfied with the service, they would do what they could to make good on their promise of good quality.

I'm happy to say that the gentleman that arrived was on time and courteous. Even though he wasn't driving a company vehicle, he still had the necessary equipment to properly complete the job. Yes, he did use my water and electric, but I don't see why that is such a problem. I personally feel that some customers can tend to be unrealistic in their expectations and therefor should probably ask more questions during the initial scheduling of service.

I have two dogs and a cat. My carpet was disinfected and deodorized. Within about 5-6 hrs. my carpet was dry and my house smelled great. That was one month ago and I'm still satisfied with the results. I'm writing this review to help others who may be unsure due to some of the very negative comments. I have none of those and I will definitely use this company again. The only reason that I'm not selecting a five star rating is because I believe there is always room for improvement.

DO NOT CALL THIS COMPANY!!!I had a -scheduled appointment with this company for a time frame of between 10am-12pm. I waited until 12:30 to call and the person told me she would have the technicians call me right back. I waited another 30 minutes and called back again I was routed to a " Manager " who also told me he or the technicians would call me back immediately. Guess what NO CALL BACK from ANYONE!!!!! No one ever showed up either. I had removed everything from 5 bedrooms and stacked it all over the house in bathrooms waiting for them to show. I ended up calling another company but had to wait 2 days so I had to live with all the Stuff I removed from all the bedrooms since the worthless company did not have the decency to call me or show up. DO NOT USE THEM!!!!!

I have been using Houndstooth to clean my home since 1987, both for carpet and upholstery cleaning, at least once a year, sometimes more. I have never had anything but a pleasant experience from these guys. A couple of buddies of mine have told me nightmares about their bait and switch encounters with other carpet cleaning companies, and I have recommended Houndstooth to them also. They too are now satisfied customers.

Houndstooth's workers are always pleasant and always do a bang-up job. And they have never once even attempted to charge a single penny more than the price they gave me over the phone.

And by the way, their prices are so low that initially I didn't believe them to be true. But I guess if they were a bait and switch company, after over 25 scheduled appointments I would have witnessed it by now.

These guys rule!

I knew this deal was too good to be true. I became suspicious once their representative arrived in a Jeep and asked to park in my garage. Next, he connected his apparatus to MY water connection AND connected to the electrical receptacles in my kitchen blowing out my power twice. Now, from my experience, carpet cleaners use their own water supply. What's going on here? Now, I'm going to have a higher water bill because of these nincompoops! What's more, the carpet still has dirt spots that should have easily come up - of course; it took a day and a 1/2 before it dried, so I tipped him before I noticed this. After
writing this, I'm still ticked!

I spoke with a representative and scheduled an appointment to have my carpet cleaned. Did it ever happen? The answer would be no. I explained that I was hosting my book-club meeting on Saturday when I scheduled my service on Thursday morning for Friday between the hours of noon and 3 pm. Not only did the company never show up they did not call. I called the company 3 times after my failed appointment and received a voice mail. On Saturday morning I called the company back and the representative told me that he would see if he could get someone out today. He spoke with the manager who then relayed that they had a full schedule today and could they come out a day next week for a discounted price. I told them no and thank you and ended the call. The manager then calls me back to offer the same thing again and I refused. I then asked the manager where would I send an formal complaint and he stated to him at their address. I asked him what was the companies reporting structure and he said he was "THE MANAGER" I then asked was he an owner/operator and he said no I am "THE MANAGER"! I explained that everyone had a boss, CEO, CFO if they were in fact not the owner and he said Ma'am no you don't". No only did they not come "THE MANAGER" is not familiar with the companies reporting structure.

Houndstoooth met my expectations and I am about to use their service, again. Their price was the best based on my research. I am a consumer that enjoys having a competitive price, but I will not accept poor service without expressing displeasure. This company's representative did a good job cleaning our carpets.

i thought i'd try houndstooth on my house, cuz for the price, you can't beat it right? wrong. it's worth it to go ahead and pay more because the day we had the appt made for, the guy never showed up. when i called the business they said he was on his way. after some time of waiting i called the business again and again but it just rang every time. next thing you know, the phone is off the hook. can't get thru. no call, no show, nothing. i find this unacceptable since we spent a lot of time getting the house ready to be cleaned and finding a sitter. all for nothing. i will never call on this business to clean my carpet again. they are not dependable.

I scheduled service with this company and the company itself as a whole may not be that bad, but the tech they sent out that day was a very poor representation of them. I complained to him about the fact that the carpets were not clean and to make matters worse, it actually looked like he didn't use any type of cleaning solution, and in response, the tech told me, "I did what the company told me to do". Perhaps the company told him not to clean my carpets. I could literally use my house shoe to loosen up dirty spots, so why couldn't he remove those same stains with the cleaner. He was very unprofessional, didn't even offer to go over any of the soiled areas and when I asked him a question he was very short with me. I would never recommend this company to anyone, therefore, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

IF you are not Caucasian, then do not get service from this company. The gentleman(and I use that term very loosely) came and gave an entire 2 hours of the perils of foreigners in this country and how they do this or that, clearly knowing we are part of an immigrant force(legal immigrants). He made my parents feel so badly and the cleaning was mediocre to boot! I would never recommend this crazy bigoted company to anyone.He did not clean, nor scotch guard as promised.

I've used Houndstooth Carpet for whole home cleaning since 20 years ago. Each person who has come throughout the years has been very professional. They do an excellent job for a very low price.

I have used Houndstooth twice and am very impressed. They did not add on anything extra for pre treating or extra scrubbing or stairs or any of the other things others have been known to do. They did a great job and got out some terrible spots for the flat whole house fee.
