Great Pizza Great Neighborhood bad salad  4 Star Rating - Very good

I have some friends that have a house just down the road from this spot, so my friend Angela and I went one night and ate waaay too much pizza and salad. The experience was great as far as atmosphere, and lighting, and the pizza was really really good. I didn't eat a salad, but my friend did. Later she got really really sick, and ended up having food poisoning, of some sort, which we're pretty sure was from her salad, since we had gotten a medium pizza which we shared and i never got sick. It was the first thing and only thing she had eaten that day, so we think the lettuce must have been bad. It's a shame she got sick from it, cause it's a good spot, and I like it. She'll never go back though she says, because she wonders how the food is kept. I think sometimes things like this can happen though, and it was a rare thing for that restaurant I'm sure. I still would recommend it.

Nice feel good pizza and calzones 5 Star Rating - World class

This is a great restaurant. The calzones are great and will fill you up. The eggplant parmesan is also great. The atmosphere is good. The servers are cool without being overly hip. Pretty much everything is good, and it's kid friendly. I see that there are some complaints in here about separate checks from people who are math challenged. I hope that doesn't keep people from trying out this good place.

Pros: Everything
Cons: None

ok pizza, great for families 4 Star Rating - Very good

Pizza is decent, semi circle booths add to the decor, staff friendly. Nice family run feeling from the place. Parking is a limited and the lot has serious potholes.

Pros: good pizza, great menu, friendly
Cons: parking, not for groups larger than 5

great pizza and pasta 5 Star Rating - World class

Some of the best pizza in the city. I love the pasta--you can add any pizza toppings to the pasta. Some of the folks complaining on here seem like poor sports--you don't like an entree so you shouldn't have to pay for it? You ask for separate checks and then don't tip the waitress? Come on. GCP is a laid-back, comfortable neighborhood pizza joint. Not a 5 star restaurant. The staff is not stuck-up and the food is good. Good for dates, families, whatever. Highly recommended.

Pros: Great food, good selection for vegetarians
Cons: not a ton of parking

Didn't live up to expectations. 2 Star Rating - Wouldn't recommend

I just moved to the Grant Park area and had hear that GCP was worth a visit. When my guest and I arrived, the restaurant was empty and we sat at a nice table by the window that looked out onto a beautiful tree lined street. Shortly after we arrived, the rest of the restaurant filled up with baby-bearing families and the noise was bad. I ordered the vegetable lasagne and my friend got pesto pasta. My lasagne consisted of two noodles and a bowl full of greasy cheese. I kept looking, but there weren't actually any perceptable vegetables in it. My friend's pasta was better, but certainly not the best pesto sauce (too oily and not blended properly). The waiter came to collect the plates and after noticing that I hadn't eaten any of my entree, removed it but didn't bother to replace or refund it. The view was the only thing that really stood out about this place.

Pros: Get a table with a view of the park
Cons: Bad food, really bad food.
