Our last stay (10 days) here was a disaster! After we picked up our dogs ( 2 Boston Terriers) we found that one had acquired a definite fear of ANYONE wearing black pants and this includes US. He wouldn't respond to us at all and cowered away. When we changed the pants, everything was fine. I can only assume that he was severly abused by someone at this facility wearing black pants. Phone calls to the owner of the company were diverted to someone lower down the food chain. He obviously has no interest in customer satisfaction. Being unable to contact the owner who hopefully has the power to correct this situation leaves us no alternative other than to rate this company UNACCEPTABLE and recommend that you find alternative pet care.

Business Response:

We take this type of accusation of our facility very serious and have made sure to look into every concern that we see noted. It is our number one priority to provide excellent client service and state of the art medical care. Our kennel staff wears ceil blue uniforms to work every day and is very thorough, caring, and compassionate. They have been caring for these particular babies at different occasions for over a yearβ??s time now and have not changed the level of care that has always been given. The owner has given all managers the full authority to address these matters immediately. They are more readily available and more aware of the actual circumstances. All serious complaints are reviewed with the owner and given the appropriate attention to bring them to the best outcome available to us. Now that we have been made aware, we have discussed the concern with our staff, managers, and owner. We are certain that our staff would not harm a patient or any animal for that matter. We are very concerned for the pet in mention and are hopeful that whatever the anxiety is in reference to, his/her owners will be able to address and aid in the recovery.

Completely agree with what one poster said, all this place cares about is money. After spending well over one thousand dollars to help my rescued pet recover from parvo, this place put them in unsatisfactory conditions, didn't change the IV when I was there even though I told them it needed to be changed, and since I said I didn't have the money to pay for 24 hour care the pet dies the very next day? Go to this place if you want people who care more about money than to actually help animals.

Do not take your pets to Trickum Ridge Animal Hospital! These people are focused only on one thing - money! Every time you go in, their prices have increased. This last time I brought my dog in they told me that because he was now a "senior citizen" that they would start checking his blood pressure every year. When I went to check out I saw that the charge for the exam was 66.00! When I asked why it was the usual about $45 I was told it cost more to do the blood pressure, which would have been nice to have been told before I had it done. Rediculous! The boarding is way overpriced as well. $21 a day for my dog to sit in a concrete run all day? Plus almost $6 a day to give him his medication - which is a pill you put in his food. I now take him to Bark station which cost me about $5 more a day but is so much nicer and he gets to play several times a day instead of just going outside to a small gravel run three times a day. Their prices must be getting the best of them anyways because the last time I was there there were much fewer staff members walking around and only one receptionist. She kept have to answer the phone while trying to check me out and it took forever. Needless to say, I will not be going back there. Before I choose another vet, I am going to do a lot of research. I want someone who cares about my dog as much as I do, instead of spending their time trying to figure out how to suck me dry!

Over 13 years, my dog has boarded here, had surgery, grooming, bathing, and checkups/appointments. The vets are very friendly, thorough, and trustworthy. I have always felt comfortable leaving my dog for boarding- large individual runs for bigger dogs, playtimes, and they follow the feeding schedule of your pet at home. The prices are a little high, but my pet's well-being outweighs the cost.

Trickum Ridge Animal hospital pretends to care about your cat & even offers extra attention for your feline friend at a much higher rate. They talk about them getting to walk around & play.

We left our cat at the Trickum Ridge Animal Hospital for 5 nights. When we returned from our trip to pick her up, to our fright and dismay, the person at the front desk informed us that she would not "come out of her cage". We thought, cage? All of the cats at this facility are kept in tiny cages stacked on top of each other w/no flooring. It's just mesh wire that hurts the cat's feet. Not only that, but we told them she needed clay litter and they used paper litter. She didn't know any better and couldn't use it. We made very simple requests and paid them extra to make sure everything would be taken care of for our short out of town getaway.

The area they supposedly received more attention at was basically a 5 x 8 area where the cages were located. It looked more like a prison yard than an area for a cat to relax or get any attention.

When I got to her "cage" she was covered in urine and walking in her own excrement. I had to pry her out of the cage. It was very excruciating/traumatizing for her and us. She hasn't been the same since staying at Trickum Ridge (even a year later). She was a fun happy well behaved fun loving cat prior to her stay. Now she's a traumatized pile of nerves.

Save yourself the heartache, DO NOT board your cat at Trickum Ridge Animal Hospital!
