This store is clean, employees are great, variety is good, visual merchandising is best available. Fun outdoor items that change year round. Seasonal promotions on things like pumpkins and flowers. Literally a shopping paradise.

When I buy meat, I only buy it here. Grass fed beef that comes from White Oak Pastures. I ate only local food for a year (and try to eat mostly local now) and was able to find most of what I needed in Whole Foods: local produce, meat and cheese, etc.

We try to produce very little waste and I'd say one of the downsides of Whole Foods is that there is a lot of plastic and styrofoam used in wrapping food there. There's got to be a better way for an Earth-friendly company to sell wares.

They make good gelato there. When we have asked for cones we are told we must use a disposable cup and plastic disposable spoon because "they can't find any kosher cones." Ok so that matters not to a person whose priority is not religious--why make us waste a cup and spoon when we could eat a cone?

The second drawback is that the prices are sky high. They don't call it "Whole Paycheck" for nothing. At least they treat their employees fairly and that's part of what you are paying for.

Whole Foods has awesome customer service. I also love that I can get a variety of organic & natural foods that I can't find at the local Publix. Shopping at Whole Foods is an experience.

They have a wonderful selection of fresh fruit and vegetables, meats, seafood, cheeses, wine, and baked goods. They also have the best fresh cut flowers I've found at a good price.

I especially love the seafood bar, salad bar, pizza, and soups. They have a large seating area for you to enjoy your breakfast/lunch/dinner.

Unfortunately, this store does not have a smoothie/ juice bar.

PROS: Great food and groceries
CONS: No juice bar

A national chain based out of Austin, Texas, Whole Foods is Atlanta's best mainstream source for organic and natural foods.

A broad selection of organic and conventional produce, a terrific selection of meats and poultry raised without the use of hormones, antibiotics and pesticides, which are also fed a vegetarian diet, and an unbeatable selection of organic dairy products make this your one-stop shop for healthy foods.

Whole Foods is also Atlanta's best resource for organic baby food and formula, disposable diapers that don't have unnecessary chemical additives, natural cosmetics and natural, non-toxic cleaning supplies.

An outstanding gourmet cheese department, fresh, hand-rolled sushi, a wonderful beer and wine selection, gourmet coffees and teas, and fresh baked goods and deli selections add to the charm of this progressive and unusual retail outlet.

You'll never want to shop anywhere else!

PROS: Great selection, fresh produce, organic products, friendly service
CONS: Cost, limited locations

This is the worst ripoff grocery in Atlanta.
Huge prices for substandard produce.
Huge prices for just about everything.
Only saving grace is very good selection
of ingredients for bakers.

Overall, a very bad grocery choice.

Plan to stay a while and browse in this store or put on blinders and concentrate only on what you want. Their hot bar and in-house prepared foods will make your mouth water! This is on Roz's Must Go list because I'm trying to eat healthy, but somehow, I don't think it matters that I get organic tortillia chips. Is a chip a chip?
