My family joined this parish last year when we moved to Gwinnett County. They are in the middle of a construction project and mass in in a gymnasium, but there is still a nice sense of welcome and reverence. The sermons are always very good. I joined a small christian community and the members have become like a second family.

I attended St. Lawrence Catholic Church for about two years when I moved to Lawrenceville. They are absolutely NOTHING like my old church, St. Isadore Catholic, in Baker, Louisiana. St. Lawrence is overcrowded and impersonal. I have a special needs child who needed religious education and there is nothing on Sunday mornings to help me and they tried to put him in a regular classroom for education during the mid-week, found that wasn?t going to work and then told me that I had to teach him at home as they couldn?t deal with him. Personally I don?t think they even tried to! Overall, I didn?t feel that I was even at ?home? at this church. I felt like I was an alien. No one bothered to talk to me or even get to know me. After my oldest son finished his religious education, I quit going to this church entirely.

PROS: In Lawrenceville
CONS: Impersonal, No Attempt to Help Parents of Special Kids

We joined this church last year and have enjoyed attending regularly. There are so many activities to get involved in whatever your interest. The priests are very open and available. My daughter is also able to go in the nursery, if needed.
