In need of a weekend away, I booked a night at Sylvania Inn GA for me and my fiance. I hoped the suite would be nice with all of the standard features a room should have. Once checked in (hours early - thank you Sylvania Inn GA) we found that the layout of the room was absolutely wonderful. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The parking was convenient and simple. The getaway was a success in large part to the fact that this hotel had a very comfortable feel. My search for the perfect fit is found - this will be our place of choice from here on out.

First off, this is no longer a Days Inn, it is now Sylvania Inn (independent). Generally, the rooms are comfortable, if a little spartan. The bed was very good albeit a little too firm for my taste. The staff was pleasant and helpful for the most part. Motel is conveniently located near restaurants and grocery stores. All rooms contain a small refrigerator and microwave oven. AC/heating unit worked very well. Disabled-access rooms were roomy and easy to get around. The housekeeping staff is efficient and courteous.

Those are the hits, now for the misses: the cable television was poor, only a few channels available and reception was less than standard. The vending machines are not stocked regularly. Some repairs on one wall were not painted over. The emergency safety list is very small and difficult to read. The motel advertised free breakfast on their website, but no breakfast was ever served, and the coffee and juice machines are turned off after 9 AM. Two maintenance reports for malfunctioning lamps went unanswered. Some basic toiletries were not available at the front desk. Only two disabled parking spaces were available for the several disabled-access rooms at the motel.

Generally, the Sylvania Inn is a good, comfortable motel for staying at for one or several nights (we were here for five nights). However, I have to give the motel only three stars for the lack of amenities and the failure of the maintenance staff to address the lamp issues.

Days Inn is the only decent hotel in Sylvania. It is right behind McDonalds. Staff is very friendly and do a great job. Prices are not bad and rooms are nice and big. You get free papers too!
