The place is neat because its been there for such a long time. The 50's diner ambiance is cool. The food is good but over priced. Good for hangovers.

Its not fancy, but its not trashy. A retro look and some pretty great good for good prices. A long list of dinner specials and your coffee cup is never empty! Come to hang out after a long night or to start the day. 24 hours is a great convenience!
PROS: Service, Food
CONS: Can get crowded

i like dropping by this diner for breakfast. they're open 24 7 and the place is relatively clean. However, I agree with the other reviews, the servers have a tendency to chat and ignore customers sometimes, which can get annoying if i'm in a hurry. they'll chat even as they ring up your check.
The food that me and my friends had at the Majestic on Sunday 11/23 was GREAT... but the waitress was probably the worst experience I've ever had in a restaurant. Not only did she get my order wrong, she got my friend's order wrong, as well, and was never at the table long enough for us to say anything. She was short to the point of rudeness, threw silverware into the server station in what appeared to be a temper tantrum, and also LOST our to-go order. We watched another waitress TELL her about it, and she seemed to just not care. Thankfully, we weren't charged for the to go, but it meant I had to go to another diner later to get a burger for my friend.
When she brought our checks (we didn't ask, and we were actually discussing milkshakes when she slapped down the check before we could tell her we wanted separate checks) she accused us of leaving before paying, as well- when I thought I had to pay up front, as I had in the past. No big deal- but she was snotty about that ("Just because I said have a good night, it doesn't mean you're done, you have to PAY me.") and had another snit about us splitting the check. As if they didn't do that- I've been there numerous times and people have done separate checks before- of course, they usually let us tell them that before the check is brought.
Just the WORST service, ever. We didn't tip. I've never done that before, and I work in the restaurant business, myself.... but I just was not about to leave such a miserable excuse for a server any money.
I don't even think I'll be back, even though the food is great and the other servers have always at least been nice.
Pros: Food
Cons: Service- snotty waitress.
We've been going to Majestic Diner for years and love everything about it. Their breakfast, simply put, is awesome. They have a gyro omelette that is outstanding, their burgers are also a stand out, and their milkshakes are the best. If you are looking for good, down to earth food in an unpretentious atmosphere, Majestic Diner is your place.
Pros: Breakfast, Customer Service
Until you have had a late night and ended up at the Majestic you shouldn't call yourself an Atlantan. This diner is the place to be in the wee hours of latenighters of Friday and Saturday. It is also a wonderful breakfast stop on Saturdays and Sundays. Having said that, I have eaten at the Majestic at all times of the day and night and I've always left with a full belly and happy smile. The wait staff is excellent and capable of handling any situation because they already have. They make you feel right at home and their food is excellent. Everyone that comes to Atlanta or lives here should have a meal at the Majestic. A+++
The workers are laidback but sometimes lazy (especially when it's not busy, they seem to get caught up in conversation). The food is good and reliable. OPEN 24/7!! It's comparable to waffle house except without the missing teeth and nastiness. I go here often and typically enjoy myself. If I spend 2 hours there getting fired up on coffee because of somewhat slow service, I never seem to be bothered by it. Whatever's good.
Pros: Food, hours, comfort.
Cons: Service, sometimes parking.
People should not be confused. It is not high quality cuisine why you go here. It is the BREAKFAST, served all day everyday. This is the only place where I can find decent corned beef hash and cheese eggs, Yeah its on the cholesterol no no but after the club there is no place else that can give you chic greasy spoon type action. Better than you waffle house not quite an IHOP but it is it's own unique institution. Anyone who has an expectation that vegetables should be al dente' need to step up their game and go to a more upwardly mobile eatery around the corner in the Highlands area. This is not for you. But if you need good food at a good price , and you are on statins GO. It's a landmark and should be celebrated as such.
Pros: Great Breakfast!!!
Cons: Dinner is OK
vegetarians: all of the veggies are severely overcooked. Broccoli doesn't even look green any more, it's just a dark grey mush. Same with the Mac'n'Cheese. I don't think they've ever heard the term al dente. If you like vegetables to be cooked in a crock-pot, then this is your place. The rest of the food may be amazing though, I can't speak for that.
Pros: Nice ambience, cool waiters
Cons: mushy food
Seriously bad Cheddar Cheese Omelette I had there last night...It was basically three eggs folded around five or so slices of cheese, lacking all of the finesse a good omelette requires. I didn't complain because, well, they were open and I wasn't driving anywhere else. Veggie burger is good, vegetable soup is actually vegetarian, and the atmosphere is thick with hipsters and the intoxicated. Oh yeah, the grits are good too...
Pros: Friendly, Always Open
Cons: The Omelette I had SUCKED
I've been visiting the Majestic for over 20 years. It's always been good and fun, but over the past year or so it has become even better. The food is consistently fresh, hot and good. The management is gradually upgrading the place while keeping the old charm. You can't go wrong!
Pros: Excellent food, relaxed atmosphere
Cons: Nothing major.
The Majestic Diner is a great place period. Great food, very fast, and very clean considering it's a diner! I highly recomend it. There Biscuits were decent but I would go for their eggs in the morning. I have not tried it at lunch or dinner but I think il be going soon. Great Place
Pros: Parking, cheap eats, clean
Cons: food is average.
I've lived in Atlanta for over 11 years and have never tried the Majestic till last week. I had always been told it's where the toothless women with big hair worked. A sight I could do without seeing. However, times have changed and this place is the best if you're looking for diner food, friendly staff and an entertaining crowd. I admit I was there at 3 AM and it was packed. There was even a "bouncer(?)" at the door for crowd control. Good diner food, fast and cheap, I love this place for nostalgia and the entertainment factor.
Pros: VALUE, service, food
Majestic Diner takes you to a time when a diner was defined by three things; food, price, and friendly service. Majestic Diner is a shining example of these things, and sets the contemporary bar for what a diner should be like; great food at a very inexpensive price, great atmosphere, and fast, friendly service. There are not many of these classic Mom-and-Pop diners left, but Majestic is the best of the type that I have ever had the priviledge of dining at. The name even has added meaning once one has completed a full meal at this classic restarant located on historic Ponce De Leon Avenue.
Pros: Inexpensive, Location, Atmosphere
Diners are undergoing a resurgence across the country, but the Majestic doesn't need a comeback. It's been there for decades providing simple, low-cost (by local standards), and tasty food. It makes no pretense... this diner is not about nouveau cuisine but the basics. And it does the basic well.
Pros: Food, Ambience, Price
This place is what it is. A diner in Atlanta. God forbid the south learn the ways of eating up north. No nonsense ordering and eating, and your coffee cup is always full! Great eats for the late night crowd. And to contradict the previous guy's poor rating, the 2 of us ate well for $13.
Basic late night diner type of eats, but no where better to see the late night crowd sober up (next to many colorful characters.) The service is adequate is best, but you wouldn't want it any other way.
The Majestic late at night - theirs not much to say, but this is a great place to get over your hangover. The foods not bad, actually pretty good and the freaks you'll encounter will make you happy to get up and to church the next morning!
Great late night grub, you get what you expect. The waitstaff is as you expect .. eat drop your check and get on with it. They give you everything you need and you can count on it. People watching here is fun and the homeless people occasionally staring in the window only add to the experience in my opinion. If you are the type who wants to order everything on the side, blah blah blah go home and microwave a lean cuisine. This place is for non fussy people and we like it that way =)
Pros: 24 hours, inexpensive, ketchup on table
The majestic diner is a wonderful time capsule of dining. The apple pie is a must! It is also a great place for psychiatrists or movie directors to view a wide range of personalities.
Pros: value, people, experience
Cons: people, experience
When you've done everything else, head to the Majestic. Bleary-eyed and tired, you and your party will end the night well here. I'm always drawn to the cheese omelet. It's greasy like everything else, but it goes down easy. Sometimes the best conversations happen when the sun's about to peak over the horizon and your hands are warming around a cup of the Majestic's mediocre coffee.
I'm not sure what's better--a bowl of the Majestic's grits at 3a.m. or people watching around the same time of night. Way too close to home to pass up after a night at the bars. Always good. Always entertaining. By far the best place to eat after last call.
Pros: good late-night eats
Cons: slow service
