Oak Barrel

My wife and I are FANS of The Oak Barrel. We often eat in Acworth and stopping into The Oak Barrel is a must. We usually stop by on Friday night for their wine tasting, and chat with Cookie and Peter.
The only problem is we always buy something whether it's a bottle of wine or an accessory. Interestingly you always get a "warm and fuzzy" feeling when you walk through the door, and you leave with a smile on your face. Isn't that the way a shopping experience should be?

Better than Buckhead, right in our own backyard is the "Oak Barrel", a hidden jewel in Acworth. The atmosphere, decor and incredible owner and staff, make the Oak Barrell a destination in itself. I feel I am on vacation when I enter the store and wonder what delights await me. Bonnie's intuition in helping the customer select the perfect wine are always on target. Bonnie's depth of wine knowledge and love of the grape make her wine employee of 2008.

Was killing time in downtown Acworth Saturday and ended up spending an hour in this great little shop! The gifts are great, but it was the help from Bonnie that got me through picking a couple of wines. Most wine shops are overwhelming, but I will definitely be back again thanks to her great recommendations. Thanks!

A cozy atmosphere with lots of well crafted made in America gifts. The selection of wine in the celler is wide range from Opus One to my favorite EarthQuake Cab. The owner is friendly and knowledgeable. Fridays and Saturdays are wine tasting nights. Sometimes the owners son helps and he is fun to talk to.

Refreshing to find a great selection of wine and gifts in Acworth. A very knowledgeable staff always ready to steer you in the right taste and price direction. The gift selection made it easy for early Christmas shopping. Also enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere.

I don't know much about wine so I went to the Oak Barrel wine store with a little hesitation hoping I wouldn't make a fool out of myself. I never even had a chance too, because the staff was so friendly and helpful. I asked them for some suggestions with our grilled steak dinner and they gave me several in different price ranges. They also have a nice selection of gourmet foods and gift items. I picked up a few things for appetizers and we were really pleased with the wine we chose.

Acworth has moved up in the world of Wine lovers. The Oak Barrel is joining forces with local restaurants to pair amazing wines with assorted seasonal offerings. The staff is definitely knoweldgeable and when you ask questions they share their thoughts but don't push you in any one direction. I.e. They don't push you toward a more expensive brand than another.
