Took everyones advice! AC went out last night and AHS said NCHA would call and schedule an appointment. No call as of 2:00 next day. Tried to have AHS call someone else but was told that they could not do that.Found reviews and cancelled appointment altogether and hired someone else. He will be at my house at 4:00(I know him). Thanks for the warning!!

I completely agree with J. Fowler. Sounds like our exact situation. The only reason we used them was AHS. The were supposed to contact us within 3 hours which did not happen so I called them the next day but the clueless girl that answers the phone could not help. So she took my name and number and said Bill would call me back later that day, which did not happen so I called again the next morning and Bill was out and would not be back until noon but still no phone call until after 2 pm. Someone came out that day without the proper equipment to fix and refill the freon. But he said he would be back the next day with a tank to fix which did not happen for 3 days. Then the guy who fixed the problem was here like 5 minutes and the problem was resolved. OMG! He took my copay and assured me they would mail me an invoice so I could get reimburst which did not happen . OF COURSE! So I called abd Bill said he would have it faxed to me when someone was back from lunch. I FIGURED THAT WOULD NOT HAPPEN. So I have left another message for them to fax the invoice to me.

At least this last time I called I actually got an answering machine instead of the clueless girl or a busy signal. The answering machine is more productive and knowledgable than the girl.

I HAVE NO CLUE HOW THEY STAY IN BUSINESS! I really would not give them an UNSATISFACTORY star but I had to.

I've been meaning to write this for awhile, and I wish I had read these reviews before North Cobb Heating & Air came to my house earlier this year. Keep in mind, this is the first time I have ever written an online review, so what does that say about these jokers?

These guys are absolutely the worst home service company I have ever dealt with. Period. If it weren't for AHS using them, I seriously doubt they could stay in business on their own merits. Questions I have for them that never got answered - Why would you turn someone's A/C off in 90 degree weather and not come back for four days? Why would you commit to coming back the next day and not? And when you didn't show up, why did you not call or answer your phone for four days? Shouldn't you be prepared for a job? Why would you not carry something as simple as tube insulation on your truck?

And the worst, we know for a fact North Cobb Heating & Air lied to American Home Shield! Testing for a freon leak, they had us turn the thermostat on, while they turned the unit off outside. Since I wasn't going to be home when they came back and the system thawed, I did what they said and left. Four days later, after not hearing from them or reaching them, I called AHS. AHS said, yes they came by your house but could not repair the unit because they said you didn't set the thermostat. Can you believe these monkeys? They lie to AHS so it looks like they are doing their job. I seriously doubt they even came back to my house!

So believe these reviews. If AHS tries to send North Cobb Heating & Air to your house, say ABSOLUTELY NOT! Send someone, anyone, else.

This is another example of NO customer service from North Cobb Heating & Air and AHS. Bill called this morning to confirm technician and I was on another call. He requested a call back which I did in less than 10 minutes receiving nothing but a fast busy signal. After the same for over 3 hours, I called AHS who told me North Cobb Heating & Air was so busy they were not accepting incoming calls. Called AHS to be told nothing they can do - I will just have to basically go back to the end of the line and start all over. And this was for a service request submitted 3 days ago. I'm in the service business and if I treated my customers like AHS or North Cobb Heating and Air, I would absolutely be fired! This is totally unacceptable given the amount of money we pay AHS for service.

They climbed out of my daughter's window..and the next day went the unit stopped working they told AHS they could not access it! Well it's broken again and those idiots said they can't come. If this is the caliber of contractor that American Home Shield uses then there is no way I will renew my warranty. These people are hapless. My A/C has been out for over a week and we have been in a heat wave. They have come to my house twice and have not been able to repair the unit. Neither time were they there when they said they would be and I am still waiting for a resolution to my problem. If you do not have to use them, then by all means avoid these guys like the plague. Worthless.

These people gave us the worst customer experience I have ever received. I never complain or take time do reviews but this was an exception. With these guys one hand is working without any idea what the other is doing. The two guys that came out to the house were nice; especially the new guy who had been with them 5 days. He was the nicest, most helpful of them. The only saving grace so far in a 3 week stint without air and 3 random visits.If You can use anyone else, do Yourself a favor and do it. The air still isn't fixed. Had we not made it this far I would have called my other guy and paid out of pocket. We will not use a Home warranty again (especially with Home Shield).

Referred through AHS and they never called to schedule an appointment. When I finally called to get appointment they said in 2 days (with furnace out and high 30 degree temps) but that they would be in my area the next day. Also stated they would give me 30 minutes notice to get home (acceptable) but then called when they were at house and would leave in 15 minutes. So when I got home they had said they left 5 minutes in the future and couldn't wait any longer. Calls to office often go to answering machine and calls to service technician get errors (no incoming calls?)? You would think at these times they would be happy to have customers and be responsive. Awful company that I have requested AHS remove from their list of providers.

I am so over NC Heating & Air and American Homeshield for using them.

Our a/c had been out for over a week. They finally showed up after 5 days, unplugged our a/c to let it thaw and then could give us no idea a time they would return.

Crappy way to do business and I would rather call and pay to have it done. Rather that than be at the mercy of a crap company or a crap Homeshield that has deals with everyone to treat us like red-headed step children. It's terrible customer service. They are also quite apathetic, i.e. they DON'T CARE! Stay away. Hammock's has been good to us before and we are on our way back there. Not worth it. I am not renewing Homeshield either, it's always a sliming experience and hassle to use their vendors. Not worth it.

Believe what the other people posting here are saying. I work in the service industry myself and I can't imagine how a company as rude, disorganized and inefficient could ever remain in business. In short they have been to my home 4 times and my air conditioning is still not fixed. We have a nine month old baby and the temperature has been 90 degrees in our house for two weeks. The staff is very rude and they never return a phone call or show up when they say they are going to. I have left three messages in three days and still have not received a call back. Great way to run a company Bill. I cant wait to writ a letter to the executive office of American Home Shield to explain how terribly disappointed I am.

When you call 1st thing they ask is are you with American home shield so the can 1st delay sending a tech out and 2nd when they do the tech finds some fault to not Honor the ahs contract I believe they are paid a kickback for this.

Bill, the North Cobb manager refused to follow AHS directions and send a senior tech or manager to my house to look at the A/C although he did schedule us for an appointment the next Saturday. North Cobb had been to the house twice and took our money but did not fix the A/C. The first time they ??recharged the system and ??fixed? a leak. The second time the tech showed up at 7:30 PM for a 12:00 appointment. He pulled a fast one on us when he turned off the breaker and tried to tell us that it was a breaker problem. What a crock. The air was blowing through the vents in the house until that guy flip the breaker off. He never stayed long enough to see that the system was working. When I spoke to Bill the supervisor, he told me the system should be working and that he could send a tech and not a manager back out on Saturday (more than a week after the first techs visit). When I asked Bill, how will I know when the system is working and if the tech would stay long enough to see that the system was cooling Bill decided I was too much for him and threaten to cancel my Saturday appointment. When I told him his contract was with AHS and not with me and that I would make sure he lost his contract if he continued to threaten me, Bill told me he did not think I had that kind of power and canceled my appointment. AHS told me that North Cobb had yet to send in the A/C diagnostic report after a full week. If this same thing happens to you be ready. Make sure the North Cobb tech stays at your house until you are satisfied that the system works and make sure they are never left alone in your house or near any of your appliances.

They concluded that since the backup heat wasn't working it was 'a bad installation' and therefore the warranty was invalid. The unit has been working for 26 years. "The heating strips were not attached. Perhaps the homeowner wanted to save money and had detached them." Give me a break. My mom can't work her VCR. Turned out the thermostat was bad and there was no power getting to the strips. Great diagnosis guys! Called the owner Bill to ask how a 26 year old unit was suddenly installed improperly. He was rude and talked in circles. Might as well discuss heating and air with my cat. If AHS tells you they are sending them out, run! Ask right away for a different vendor.
