DELICIOUS sushi and hibachi. I just love it. The food is very consistent with good quality ingredients.

The only complaint is that they need to update the booth seating. A couple times I have gotten seated where there are no springs

We went on New year's eve which may have been the problem, but our reservations got mixed up and we had to wait around while who I think was the owner glared at us. We ate at the hibachi grill. Once we sat down I found out that they charge extra for fried rice... but isn't that the base of the meal? I would rather them just bump up the regular price than nickle and dime. The food was very mediocre. If I go again maybe it will be better, and if it is I will update this post, but from my first and so far only impression, it was just... ok.

I was a former cashier. Manager Wendy never let me have my tips. Everyday Wendy told me "You don't worth the money I paid you." Wendy always use hateful eye look at me when she talk like that.Wendy don't let me have any break, she always complain I am not move fast enough.Wendy think I eat too slow. I have to go hungry a lot times when I work.I work 13 hours a day, 6 days a week. No overtime pay. Wendy pay me $1800 a month.I commit a suicid after working for 28 days. I didn't get my full monthly salary.I didn't die, I stayed in hospital for almost a year. The doctor said I am permanently disabled. I have to take medcine all my life.

Pros: hungry? Come in !

Cons: wolf at the door

I have been going to this restaurant since high school. I have always had nice attentive servers and really great sushi. The old railroad car makes for a cool entrance too. I now live around the corner - so when I'm in the mood for sushi nearby Orient Express is my first choice!

Pros: Yummy Sushi, Great Location

Cons: Small Parking Lot, Congested Traffic

The night we went, they sat us in front of a party of 20 young girls who were there for a "Sweet 16" party...I thought I was at Chucky Cheese's it was so noisy. Some of the girls parents were there as well, at a table on the other side of the restaurant where they could enjoy themselves. Parking here is like a can of sardines it's so tight. The food was acceptable but not worth the prices they charged for it. I won't be going back here, that's for sure...

I'll put my bias out there: I love the Orient Express. I have been eating there, since I moved to Atlanta six years ago. The sushi has been excellent every time we go. There have been a few times I tried the Chinese food (good) and the Hibachi (okay), but I keep coming back for the sushi. The service is always good. The food doesn't take long and we usually are too busy enjoying the miso soup and edamame. There is an older lady who has worked there forever and knows us by our drink order (Saki bombs). It can get busy, but I have only on very rare occasions actually waited for a table. Yes, the parking lot is tiny (especially with all the SUVs), but it is worth a trip.

Let's be honest, sometimes it's hard to determine the quality or origin of the meat at some Chinese places. However, at Orient Express, the meat is always fresh tasting, high quality, and well prepared. I'm not sure why some people have reviewed poorly here but I am a regular and can attest that this is the best place for Chinese food in Atlanta. The sushi is good, the hibachi is good, the chinese is good. The service never lacks and I have rarely waited for a table, but somehow it is always full! The prices are excellent and the lunch specials are great. Try the mongolian chicken, it's super good! The takeout here is just as good as sitting down and the portions are huge. Bottom line, don't be deterred by the critics, give it a try for yourself!!!

This place doesn't have the best sushi, chinese, or hibachi grill in town. But they are damn good at all three. Orient Express does have one of my favorite sushi rolls the "Super Crunch". I highly recommend it. The hibachi grill is a standard and does a good job of doing exactly that. It isn't KOBE but some things are excellent like the chicken and filet. As for the chinese, I haven't found a GREAT chinese place but this is just as good as any in atlanta. If you are looking for good food, GREAT atmosphere and usually very helpful service...This is the place.

We moved here from Ann Arbor and went there for because my husband likes Benihana. What a let down! Our bill was $80 and all we had was overcooked scallops and chicken. The hibachi chef was entertaining, but everything else was regrettable. The appetizers were overcooked. The atmosphere was like a day care. We ordered drinks toward the end of dinner and then were rushed to finish and pay the bill. For the same price you can go to Canoe... two miles away and like an entirely better world!

I havent had the chance to dine in at this particular restaurant, but I have ordered the take-out. The food that I ordered was good, however if you plan to order a drink remember that the items list are (20oz). That price is about a 300% mark-up on soda. Other that that little problem all was normal Chinese food. No real thrills to speack of.

People who never had good Asian food. This restaurant is good for them. They use cheap ingridents and charge high prices, just because their location is in Vining. Their price make fool people think it's a upscale restaurant.

The sushi here is very good and very fresh. It tends to get a little crowded on weekend nights, at least when I went the last two times. The parking can be horrible and the traffic in this area of Vinings can be pretty heavy and somewhat congested which makes it hard to get in and out of this place. Other than those little nagging things, the food here is top notch and they offer much more than sushi. Since this is an old converted train car (with a little space added on and some outside seating) you might think it would be cramped, but it is actually quite spacious and while sparsely decorated, it is in a funky Japanese minimalist style with paintings, pottery, and other assorted artwork and knick-knacks. I would recommend getting here a little early to get a seat (and a parking spot) and try their specialty rolls and sashimi, I doubt you will be disappointed.

I just moved to Vinings from Roswell few months ago and I was looking for good Sushi. I tried their all three cuisine. They all were very impressive. I ordered Sushi while having Hibachi Filet at the Grill. Their Godzilla Roll and Bubba Gump Roll are my favorites! Their Sesame Chicken and General Chicken are fabulous! This is by far one of the best restaurants I've been in a long time. Two Thumbs Up!!!

Cons: THUMBS UP

We picked up some sushi before going to Chastain. Very good. We got a rainbow roll and shrimp tempura. Very fresh. Keep up the good work. We just moved here from Alpharetta and sushi is a bit spotty. There are a couple of other places to try in Vinings but so far so good.

I have only lived here for three weeks and have already dined here at least 5 times. I usually have sushi and so far every dining experience have all been really good. I have never had a problem getting a table, getting a parking spot is a different story. The staff is always friendly and the food comes out fresh and quick. this is a great place to bring friends and have a good meal, highly recommended.

I was not sure what is the hype about this restaurant and decided to give it a try. My conclusion is that it must be because of its excellent location in the heart of historic Vinings and its interesting concept of dining inside a "train", but definitely NOT of its food.

It's a typical American Chinese restaurant with a typical menu selection. One of the stir-fried dishes we ordered came with huge pieces of meat and vegetables and the vegetables were almost raw. The taste of the food was also mediocre.

If you think the dining experience inside a train or the convenient location is worth the money, then you would not be dissappointed. Otherwise, take your money to the Chinese place down the street called "Uncle Wong" to satisfy your craving for good Chinese food.

I am a Chinese, and I think this restaurant is bad. No matter you think this restaurant is a real Chinese restaurant or an American Chinese restaurant, this place is not worth to go. I had some decent American Chinese food, but this one is terrible bad.

I ordered "smoked tea duck", but they gave me a deep fried and dried "mummy" duck. Any people has common sense should know a smoked duck is tender and juicy, but this one is just dry as beef jerk.

I'd rather have the Chinese food in any food court of a shopping mall without paying double price.

This restaurant sucks.

When I first moved to Vinings, there was lots of talk to go to Orient Express. Yes, it's a neat idea to have a restaurant inside a train beside a train track. But, the food wasn't that great and if you live in Vinings you here the darn train all the time!
