Had quite possibly the WORST car-buying experience at the Kennessaw store.The people we dealt with - Fred Christi (liar), sales mgr Steve Kessner(inept) and svc mgr Christy Duncan (incompetent) - are an embarrassment to the company.

We test drove a Jetta - someone had left the lights on and the car needed to be jumped. It drove fine, great little car. Once we decided to purchase they did an inspection and said they would replace the alternator and we insisted - and they agreed - the battery. Two days later we went to pick up - after confirming that ALL work was done (and also I should say after I called - the sales guy did not call me) and lo and behold - no new battery. Service dept was closed we were stuck. Oh, don't worry, they said, we will make it right! Take the car, bring it back Friday, we'll fix it. After I pointed out that this was an incredible waste of our time, and after the manager said it wasn't his fault, we were ready to walk away. I said "are you sure you don't want to do something to make this up to us." Oh, sure, he said, they'll give us some coupons for oil changes, etc. Fine - sounded fair - we'll get the new battery and a couple of oil changes.

Surprise! My husband took it back for the battery and the service manager said Nope, she wasn't going to do anything, no battery, nada. And wouldn't you know it, this was our fifth day to return it (which frankly we liked the car!). So lesson learned, we aren't going back to carmax anytime soon.

I will repeat, while I like the actual car we got the experience was nothing short of evil. If this is the way car buying is supposed to be, I think I'm better off taking public transportation.

CareMax is a pain in th A**. I nmake my payment on time over the internet and then for 3-4 days receive constant phone call from Carmax, asking for my payment.
