Westside Animal Hospital

My dear friend and buddy Jackson a rescued Greyhound had to be put down Sunday due to issues from a heat stroke 2 weeks prior. I called the vet I had been using for the past 14 years to help with the situation and all I got was an answering service who spoke to the Dr. on call, and I was instructed by the lady at the service to take my friend to the emergency vet clinic in Marietta. As my mother n law and I were headed out of town on 41 my aunt called and informed us that Linda the vet at Westside would be glad to help us out. I had never used Linda's services before, but I thought it was great for her to help us out in this desprate situation. She let me spend time with Jackson before the euthanization and I held his head in my arms as he passed his last breath. The treatment was done with the up most respect for my friend and I will be changing vets now and using Westside from now on. I guess my other vet's business is getting too big to help out a customer of theirs for the past 14 years during a time of need. I would recomend Westside to anyone who wants their pets cared for with a personal touch of kindness and love.

It was not the vet in particular but the whole entire system.

Our pet was hit by a car and we of course rushed him to the vet. He stopped breathing on the way...

When we got there, the vet got him back some how (got a heart beat, I think) however it was short lived, they lost it agian and soon he was pronouced dead.

Now, this is clearly a terrible thing but it got worse. The vet's office would not hand over our dog's dead body without us first paying them $200. We pleaded with the vet to let us at least bring him home to bury him and we'd come back and pay it, but they refused. This office also owned us credit that had been on the books for sometime, evidently we trusted them more with money than they trusted us, even as I begged them to let me take my son and my dog home and return with the balance owed them.

DO NOT USE THIS OFFICE! THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT MONEY!!!

A car in front of my home, which I take full responsibility for, hit my dog. I took my Louie here, because this was my vet for my cats. The vet tried so hard to save him to no prevail. I was told that the vet would bring him to my car. I went to the desk and told the young lady that I wanted to go home and bury Louie and I would come back to pay because I needed to transfer money from my savings to my checking. She had to call her office manager and her office manager said no and they would not give me my dogs remains until I paid. I could not believe this, here I am very upset crying and my son is in the car crying and I have to go to the bank and come back within 40 minutes before they closed to get my dogs remains. This was so horrible. It was very undignified. On my last visit with my cat I overpaid them a little over $40 and let them keep it until my pets next visit. How this was handled made a painful situation worse. My Louie was beautiful and he was a part of our family and he deserved better.

The ladies are very friendly and know animals by name. The place looks clean and does not have an oder. That is as far as I can go.
I am not rich, nor am I poor... but their charges are very high. Their kennel looks very nice, but when we picked up our animal after being boarded, the poor baby was sick. a couple of hundred dollars later.... still do not know the exact cause. Like I said, the ladies are very friendly and very sweet to all the animals. I just can not say that we will be back.
