The Capital Grille

This has to be one my favorite steak restaurants in Atlanta, I am always treated so well there and the choice of food is first class.

I have also tried the Capital Grille in Philadelphia and Las Vegas and both are on par with the Grille in Buckhead Atlanta.

Keep up the good work and service guys your doing a great job.

If anything, you have to go here at least once to experience the view. The food is definitely pricey but it is well worth it considering the quality of the food and exceptional service. Our server consistently checked on us even though we closed the house. The wine list is extensive and the best in town, need i say Atlanta. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted at the door and even by the manager who later stopped by our table again to thank us for coming in. The meats offered here are extremely high quality but there is definitely not many vegetarian options for anyone who is not looking to eat meat. Also, the complimentary valet parking was a nice to have as well. And again, one of the best views of the city.

It was my 42nd birthday and because this place was so highly recommended by a friend who visited a week ago, I ask my boyfriend to take me there. I wanted a different experience, and I got just that at Capital Grille. The Food was awesome and the service was just as good. I have been to numerous restaurants throughout the Buckhead corridor, and never have experienced such an excellent combination of service and great food. I strongly recommend anyone who is looking for a good evening at an upscale restaurant with a classy staff choose Capital Grille. This is the place to be.

When you go to a place with a price tag like this, you have quite high expectations. Capital Grille failed very highly in the service area. Not only were our reservations requests ignored, they placed us next to the waiters' drink station, so I was constantly bumped all evening and nearly had a tray of food dumped down my friend's back.

The waiter took about 10 minutes at the start to tell us everything on the menu as if we were unable to read.

The food runners were not polite and arrogantly deliverd the food after asking, "who had the salmon?"... I have gone to chain restaurants that know where the orders go. I had to beg for refills on our drinks.

I was extremely disappointed and the food was good, but for that price, your high expectations will not be met. There are MUCH BETTER restaurants in Atlanta.

It's not much to say but this is my favorite restaurant and the food is outstanding. The crab cakes are to die for!! If you are looking for a place that is going to give you great service and excellent food this is the place. My brother did his engagement here also and they really made it nice for him. Thanks for all the great dinning nights I have had there.

I have been a couple of times and have had a great experience everytime. The service was very good and greeted you like they are supposed too at a fine dining restaurant. The menu includes many varieties to choose from.

Hello,

I think this place is great, but not fantastic. The food is excellent. The view from the bar and dining area is excellent. The staff is not so excellent. Most people that go to this restaurant are probably attending for a paticular occasion. For that reason alone, the staff should treat you accordingly. Unfortunately I did not get that warm feeling you should get from an important evening out. Now, let me say that know person was particularly rude. Although it was seriously lacking that southern hospitality that you get from many of the fine restaurants in Atlanta...

This was my first visit to this restaurant to celebrate a promotion and I have to say that I was completely satified by alll aspects of this establishment. I was fortunate enough to get a table that overlooked the beautiful Atlanta sklyline at night. The filet mingnot was delicious...tender, juicy, oh man my mouth is watering thinking about it. The service was great, the server was very knowledgeable of all specials and was very attentive while giving us the privacy that would be expected at a this type of restaurant. Romantic setting for a date if you think she is worth the high bill. I had such a great time that the bill didn't matter but be prepared.

The decor seems to be an intentional cliche -- dark wood paneling, moose and deer heads, bad painted portraits of rich people. But there's a nice view of the city, and you're not there for the decor anyway. My first visit was last night. The service was terrific -- attentive but unobtrusive. Patrons are treated very well. My wife and a friend wanted to share an order of lobster and a steak and were going to divide it up after it was served. The waiter said the kitchen could divide it for them and cook the meat as each preferred. They said the lobster was very good, though I didn't try it myself. They recommend it with the hollandaise that accompanies the asparagus. The steak they got was the same as mine - the Delmonico with a porcini and balsamic rub. As served, it seemed laughably enormous, but not as I dug in. It was fabulous. But the winner of the night was the fries. Yes, the fries. With grated parmesan and white truffle oil. The texture was exquisite. Amazing. With a recommended Oregon Syrah, all was right. The bill was through the roof, but we were celebrating a birthday, and at least we didn't pay that much while being unsatisfied with the meal.

First off, you must start off with the Stoli Doli. Tasty little drink!!! :) All of the entree's and appetizers I have had are good, can't complain. Great date place! Great wine list, great food, and excellent service.

When I first saw the menu, I knew we had chosen the right place for our anniversary. All steak houses have steak, but The Capital Grille offered many seafood options as well, I wanted it all. We shared classics like shrimp cocktail, clam chowder, and ceasar salad for our appetizers. My wife chose the live Maine lobster, and I had decided to get a steak before we ever made the reservation. There were so many steaks to choose from but I decided on the specialty of the house, the dry aged porterhouse. There were many other selections that I also wanted to try, so when our server explained that I could basically create my own steak, I mixed and matched some of the suggestions on the menu and had my porterhouse with the porcini mushroom rub and the sauteed wild mushrooms and cippolini onions. The most tender and flavorful steak I have ever put in my mouth. The essence of fig and balsamico were perfect compliments to the steak. My wife's lobster was exceptional. We also shared the best creamed spinach I've ever had and the au gratin potates were amazing. The service was impecible. Not only was our server knowledgeable about the menu, which showed during the explanation of the daily specials and the specialties, but she also anticipated our needs. She was truly happy to be waiting on us.
It was the little things that Stephanie did for us on this occasion that made our anniversary dinner unforgettable. Candles and rose petals were on the table when we were seated, she offered us a glass of champagne to start the evening, suggested perfect wines to compliment our entrees, then brought a flourless chocolate espresso cake for dessert. I love watching the flow of a busy restaurant, and the staff at The Capital Grille didn't miss a beat. Friendly, courteous, attentive but unobtrusive, precise, clean, and organized. Everyone seemed to enjoy making this the best dinner we have ever had. We will definately be returning.

I recently had my first visit to the Capital Grille. Let me tell you, I regret that after living in Atlanta for 36 years, I had not visited this awesome steakhouse. The bar is full of Buckhead's more attractive set. Everyone drinks the signature house drink, a Stoli Doli, which is a pineapple infused vodka martini. I happend to walk right in on the weekly Wednesday night wine down special. The cocktail waitresses were offering free appatizers and glasses of very fine wine for an incredibly low price. The food we tasted in the bar was so good, my guest and I just had to have a full meal. Whats cool about this place is that they offer the traditional steakhouse fare as well as interesting variations like spice rubs, sauces, etc. Give this place a try, you won't be sorry

The Capital Grille in Atlanta not only has a great view, but the food and service are superior. Great place to power-lunch and terrific place to take clients and guests.

The service is outstanding and these folks, particularly at dinner, pay great attention to detail.

The Delmonico is one of the best steaks you'll ever have, especially for the price. Great meal! I like the asparagus. If you like calamari....this is the best. Period. There's none better. I've had calamari many different ways around the world and this is great. Some Capital Grilles will fluxuate with regards to the quality of preparation of the calamari, but Atlanta has it down.

Capital Grille has only one thing going for it An Incredible View. Save your money though and just go for drinks at sunset.

Steaks are basically what you would expect at chain restaurant for twice the price. My bone-in Delmonico tasted like the grill it was cooked on. Lyonaise potatoes were hard and chewy. White chocolate mousse tasted like whip cream. Our table of 4 had 4 cocktails, one bottle of wine, and we had 3 courses Total bill $445. Yikes. We couldve gone to a much better restaurant for that money.

Atmosphere is basically cigar room with animal heads on the wall.

I love calamar and seek it out at every restaurant I go to. I can say, without a doubt that Capital Grill has the BEST calamari I have ever had. I have not had the steaks yet so I cant rate them, but WOW, the calamari!!

capital grille is a top of the line restaurant and competes with the best easily. the buckhead location is on the 8th fl. of the capital building overlooking the city of atlanta. from martinis to the side dishes, this restaurant suceeds in every area. the garlic mashed potatoes are so delicious that one night i dragged my girlfriend i here just so i could get some. come to find out i wasn't the only one that night to do this. the steaks and the calamari are excellent as well.

I was invited to the Capital Grill for a business dinner. The atmosphere was great. Dark colors and lots of windows. Suits and dresses. I enjoyed the spicy calamari for an appetiser and swordfish for entree. The drinks were as ordered, so they meet my expectations. The service was terrific and friendly.

The Capital Grille is a wonderful place to dine! It has a beautiful view, it's sexy and just a wonderful atmosphere. My family and I took my parents there for their 30th wedding anniversary and they absoulutely loved it. My mother is still talking about it! I recommend this place for everyone!

My boyfriend and I went here for Valentine's, and it was the most fun we have had a restaurant in a while. Our waiter was exquisite, and the food was beyond that. Their steaks KILL Ruth Chris's by far. The stoli doli martini's are so good, they are a must! They seated us in a panoramic view table, and it was absolutely amazing. I highly recommend this restaurant for any special occasion. I can't wait to take more family and friends there for the spectacular view and food.

I am not from here, and have traveled exstensively.... I disagree with The Capital Grill not being # 1... Having eaten all over the world, I am a huge critic when it comes to food. This food is some of the best. The service is unmatched. I always leave that place feeling so warm and fuzzy. The atmosphere is absolutely beautiful!!!! THIS PLACE SHOULD BE ON YOUR NUMBER 1!!!!!

Views and service are top notch. Doesn't have the stuffy attitude or arrogance of the "other" older Buckhead steak houses. Chef Paul is one of THE up and coming chefs in Atlanta - make sure to try his specials and deserts. Wednesday Wine Down is a good change of pace.

Dry aged steaks are the best, and the Delmonico is fabulous as well. Great calamari, amazing creme brulee, and the new coconut cream pie is WOW!! Actually, one of the easier in-and-out parking situations in Buckhead.

I've been to the Capital Grille three times, and it is certainly one of the premier steakhouses in Atlanta. The view of the ATL skyline is incredible, and I get reservations around 7:30 so that you get to see it as the sun goes down. The food is terrific from the steak tartare to the mushrooms and asparagus to exceptional filets. Note that they tend to overcook. If you're worried that a medium-rare will be too rare, don't. And for desert, the flourless expresso cake is exceptional. The waitstaff is excellent and the execution shows tremendous professionalism, from knowing your name from the outset to providing black napkins. This place is a can't miss.
