College Park Elementary School

College Park Elementary is a school that has made academic gains in recent years but still has a long way to go. It is housed in a fine building, with a responsive and intelligent principal, and a staff including many excellent teachers. The student body also seems orderly and ready to learn.

What is missing? Involved parents. We need more parents to really get involved - first, by just sending their kids here instead of to private school. Then by getting involved with the PTA and their child's education. We can do great things at this school with more participation.

If you've never visited the school, do so before making your choice. Meet with the principal, Mrs. Gretchen Thornton, and visit the classrooms. You will be pleasantly surprised. The school is on a good track but needs involved parents to take it to the next level.
