My son attended The Bridge Learning Center in Carrollton, GA for exactly 1 year. When I visited The Bridge prior to enrolling, they advertised "lower than state ratios"in their classrooms. Shortly after I enrolled him at 3 months old, the 6 week to 6 month old infant room went from the advertised 5 infants, to 14. The room did not have enough individual beds for all of the infants and did not have the appropriate square footage in the room to have 14 children. After complaining for an extended amount of time, the room was finally split into multiple age groups. He moved up to the next room, the 6 month to 12 month room. In February of 2013 when he was 9 months old I visited him on my lunch break to discover he had a random object in his mouth that he could have choked on. It was determined to be a piece of a mop. After discussing with the assistant director, she said she believed it came from the bedding for the cribs because the mop heads were washed with the dirty laundry. I took a photo of the object, filed a complaint with Bright From The Start, an investigation was conducted and the facility was cited for not meeting the supervision rule.

On 6/20/13, my son was bitten at daycare for the first time. I did not take a photo, or discuss with director/staff because it was the first time and I didn't feel like it was going to be an ongoing issue. It happened again on 6/28, at which point I spoke to the Director and asked to see the surveillance video footage. When watching, we determined the staff in his room were not supervising the children. One was cleaning, and the other was arranging mats for nap time. She said she agreed they were not properly supervising and that she would add a 3rd staff member during transition times or times that the staff were busy taking on extra tasks which may distract them from properly supervising, such as diapering. She also said they may need to change their feeding schedule or buy more toys if toys were causing the argument. My son was bitten again on 7/26, the incident report said they were able to stop the other child from actually biting him and that there was not an indention in his skin. Later that day, he had visible teeth marks on his forearm, which I have photographs of. He was bitten again, 7/29. I asked the director of the facility to show me the video of both the 7/26 incident and 7/29 incident. For the 7/26 incident, one staff was talking to a parent and the other was not supervising children. For the 7/29 incident, one staff was diapering a child and the other was picking up toys (not supervising the children that were playing). Neither video had a 3rd staff person in it like she previously mentioned.
On 7/29, I had an extensive conversation with the director about why this happened 4 times in a month's time. She agreed her staff were not properly supervising the children. She said she may need to change staff in the room or split the children up into 2 separate rooms. She mentioned again that they might need to buy more toys if the children were fighting over toys. She stated she was going to ask her "director of operations" as well as her state representative from Bright From The Start for feedback on biting and tips to improve the # of incidents. I told her I already reached out to the state and there is no policy in place for "biting". I asked her to provide written documentation of her plan of improvement to me that day and she confirmed she would. I also asked for the # of times a biting incident had occurred in that room since 6/20 and how many repeated offenses the biters involved in my son's incidents had. She confirmed via email she would provide this information when I picked my son up on 7/30. When I came to pick him up, I went into the office and she said they made the decision to dismiss my son from the daycare. Her reasoning for the dismissal was because I had not given them time to improve the situation and because I posted photos of the bites on my personal Facebook page. This of course was after 5-10 employees who work there proactively found me online and added me as a friend on their own free will.

We have been with The Bridge Learning Center for six years, and we absolutely love it! Everybody in the center knows our children by name and seem to take a personal interest in them. The after school program and summer camp have been excellent for our older son, and the day program has been great for our youngest. Both of our boys often ask to go on school holidays and they really miss it when they do not go. The Bridge is given a stamp of approval by my outstanding pediatrician who also uses The Bridge for childcare! Thank you to the awesome Bridge staff for loving our children which gives me a piece of mind when I leave them in your care each day.

We have had a very positive experience with The Bridge. The facility is very clean, there is an emphasis on safety, and the children are nurtured. Any time web have had an issue, management has been quick to correct the problem. My son's current teacher is very consistent and firm, but extrmely caring. I highly recommend the Bridge. It's easily the best choice in Carroll County.

We came to The Bridge from another daycare center because they had a slot open up in their Pre-K program. Going in I was scared and nervous wondering if I made the right choice. I can say I could not be more happy with this center. Miss. Mia in the afterschool program is AMAZING!! It is so refreshing to walk in everyday and my daughters class is doing something constructive and not just coloring pages over and over. Miss. Mia is always doing a craft, playing hangman, or doing a dimenstration with the kids which they love! She teaches them to be respectful of each other and to use manners. For me that is above and beyond what is expected out of a daycare center!!

We were very nervous about our children attending daycare but the Bridge is more like a school than a daycare. Our 7 month old twins are always in a good mood when it's time to go home and we get the complete update on their day. All the teachers are so nice and we really feel comfortable leaving our children in their care.

I was really apprehensive to go back to work and needing to take my 7 week old to daycare. The Bridge has been friendly and so helpful in making that transition for my child and my self so much easier.

My son has been attending The Bridge Learning Center since he was three months old--he's 3 1/2 now. I spent lots of time researching daycares in the area not knowing who I could really trust to take care of my first child while I worked. The Bridge received top notch reviews from the state so I decided to check them out. It was the BEST decision I could have made for my son. He LOVES going to "school" everyday. He adores his teachers and receives quailty care! The staff know my son by name--even teachers that haven't had him in class yet. My son is learning so much and I cannot believe how far ahead he is of other children his age. It's amazing! I would recommend The Bridge Learning Center to any parents looking for a quality place to send their child(ren). You won't be disappointed!

After moving to Carrollton from out of state, we thoroughly researched daycare options. We reviewed the State of Georgia's publicly available reports on daycare providers, and we took recommendations from new friends at church. The Bridge quickly rose to the top of our list! We did start out at another daycare in Carrollton because we wanted to have our infant son in a smaller, more intimate environment. However, when he turned 2, we wanted him to have access to the programs that The Bridge offers. Their sports program was particularly appealing. Now that he has been at The Bridge for several months, we see that our son is growing, learning, and loving his new school. The Bridge is more like school than daycare because of their curriculum. The location is also convenient. We look forward to continuing to have him at The Bridge as he starts elementary school because the city schools are literally right next door. We are happy with our choice!

All of my children have attended Carrollton Academy, now called The Bridge for several years. The facility is always very clean and has top of the line educational materials. The staff is always very pleasant and I am so glad that they have young men working on staff. This really makes a difference with the boys and the time they spend with them playing games. My children are very challenging in behavior and the staff is always willing to help and work with the children. The facility is also very convenient to the school systems.

I have three children that attend The Bridge. My children love waking up and getting ready to go to The Bridge every morning. I am always greeted with a warm smile and the staff has always been so pleasant and helpful. I could not ask for a better place for my children to be while I am away at work. If you are looking for childcare and haven't found the right place yet, I highly recommend touring The Bridge Learning Center if your looking for quality childcare.

My children have been attending this Daycare for a little under a year. When Carrollton Academy became The Bridge Learning Center, they changed more than just their name. The quality of care changed for the worse! It's complete CHAOS from 2pm thru 5:30pm, which is when the Temp Teachers come in.
Children who are potty trained "suddenly" don't make it to the restroom, children falling off Picnic Tables while teachers chat away. Not to mentioned the extensive line of "young teachers" who don't seem old enough to even be working!
Complete disappointment! But it is well kept and organized. I just wish the personnell was more mature, reliable and knowledgable.

Here recently I have heard so many complaints from teachers of other teachers in the pre K room, like the teacher forcing food down childrens mouth. Also I have heard if the teacher dont want to go outside they will not go, pretty or bad weather.

Although they are one of the higher priced daycare centers in town, they are well worth it. The facility is very well kept, the playground equipment is in excellent shape, and the classrooms are particularly well organized. Not to mention, they offer state-funded Pre-K along with after school care. It is a blessing to have my four year old and my one year old in the same location for a while.

Most of the staff is very friendly and does very well with the children. Every now and then you run across a teacher that maybe shouldn't be working in childcare, but they don't stay for long. The key to deciding if this is the right daycare center for you and your children is to be sure to take a tour and ask lots of questions of the staff. It's a really great place and my children absolutely love it there.

... but still not perfect. Over the years that my daughter attended Carrollton Academy, we had our ups and downs. But I can say with all honesty that I feel like it was the best daycare that we experienced in Carrollton. The facilities are clean, bright, well maintained. The teachers for the most part seem caring and loving and well trained. The kids seem happy and well cared for. The meals are decent and nutritious. In the second baby room I felt as though the teacher to baby ratio was too much. The babies didn't always seem to get the individual attention they needed. In some of the 'after school' rooms the young staff members didn't seem to keep controll of the room and often let the kids run wild. But in general, the students seem to be kept involved in organized activities and the rooms seem under control ... but in a postive way ... the kids are having fun, they aren't just being forced to sit quietly. I like that the kids get outdoor time and that there is a lot of playground equipment. My daughter enjoyed the pool, but we found that the swimming 'lessons' were a joke. She learned little or nothing and grew frustrated having to sit on the side of the pool and wait her turn. Free swim time was much more enjoyable.

PROS: Nice facility, organized activities, caring atmosphere
CONS: Some staff members aren't very sincere, part-time staff sometimes apathetic
