WOW... all I can say is wow! Meaning "Worst Overall Waste" of time spent dining... Granted, I haven't been there in a while, but, I hate this place, and not the loosely renderings to the use of the word hate, but, I actually can honestly portray my apprehension with this "place" as hateful coupled with disdain. I have never witnessed such a poorly run establishment, and to think this "place" (as I cannot bring myself to offer the description of establishment) dons themselves as the best! What a joke. My problems with Bones span from my incredibly horrible steak to that of the irrational supposed GM "Mark" who, without a doubt, is nothing more than a debaucher of young girls. Guys, keep an eye out for this pervert and public molester. I swear the only thing that will have my business back to this "place" is the unfinished and unsettling business with him to which took place at the bar after my meal.

I only give a star at all... because the site requires at least one.

My husband and I rarely get to go out to eat with a new baby, but we ventured out an early evening during the week and were able to enjoy an exceptional meal with very friendly and accommodating staff. Our little one slept through it all in the quiet corner of the restaurant, and we even got to enjoy dessert! Thank you Bones staff!

My wife and I always try to go to a new restaurant once a month. You know try whats hot and what's not. We always come back to Bone's. The service is above and beyond what any other restaurants here in Atlanta offer. A must to try for an appetizer is the onion rings. Thats right, onion rings. They are huge. I also would recommend the cold seafood platter too. The lobster bisque is a favorite of mine if you are looking for just a soup. You cant come to Bone's without trying the tenderest steaks in town. Still have yet to get them to come out that way at home. Last but not least if there is room for dessert, the Creme Brule is a must. This just is not the run of the mill Brule in a ramekin this one comes in a shell that is edible. I know you will enjoy.

I feel this restaurant is over - rated in Atlanta. When I went there I did not get the exceptional service that I expected. The food was good, but not as good as I had been led to believe it would be.

For a lovely evening out Bones is your destination. There is something to please every palate. Choose from delicious steaks , chops , and seafood. The wind list is impressive. Service is attentive but not bothersome.

If you want an excellent steak and "King-Like" service, Bones Restaurant on Piedmont Road would be a great choice. I was highly impressed with the idea that I could receive excellent service and food at the same time. ( : Valley parking and great desserts don't hurt either. Great for Business Meetings

I took my parents here for their wedding anniversary two years in a row.

Both times were great - no complaints whatsoever, only that it's a bit pricey (but knowing that ahead of time & you're good) and sometimes the servers could be a bit more attentive.

Pros: Fabulous food and atmosphere

Cons: Costly & untimely service

July 22, 2010

My family visited this place to celebrate my brother's birthday and we really had a fantastic dining experience. The steak I ordered was cooked to my specifications and they offer delectable desserts. The very accommodating service crew even made the night more special because of the attention they gave us. It was truly a 5-star experience.

Pros: great food

If you are celebrating an occasion, then Bones is a great place to go to. Their salads are great, the main courses are tasty, and the desserts are simple but good. I've gone here a few times and have never been disappointed.

September 24, 2009

I went here for my birthday and enjoyed every second - from the delicious steak to the (free) ice cream cake at the end. I highly recommend this restaurant!

I love this place. Although it can feel a little aged at times! The salads are to die for!!!

Pros: Salads

Cons: Feels aged

February 25, 2009

This is definitely THE place in atlanta to go for a celebration. I went their for my birthdady, and my wife loved it so much made me take her there for valentines a few months later. My wife mentioned to our waiter that she loved the bones steak souce and they gave us a bottle for free. My wife also is not a desert person, but we got a free cake on my birthday that we still rave about. It truly is one of the best steak palces in the entire country!

Pros: Service, food, atmosphere

Cons: slightly pricey, but you do get what you pay for

October 12, 2008

Wonderful atmosphere, excellent service, and even better food! Expect complimentary valet parking and waiters who never let your glass drop below halfway. My steak was cooked to perfection. It was tender and juicy. Everything is a la carte, so expect is pay extra for the sides. Each side can be split between 2-4 people though. All round excellent experience, my new favorite restaurant!

Pros: Ambience, Complimentary Valet Parking, Quiet

Cons: expensive

August 07, 2008

Great Food, Service it top notch. I have been twice and you can't beat it. Teh Lobster Nepolian was to die for. Steak was cooked to perfection. Just a great place. Quiet and clean. I would go every week if I had $75 bucks to spend on dinner!

Pros: Top Dog in the steak World

Cons: None

May 27, 2008

Went to Bones for "Girls Night Out". Thought it might be stuffy but much to my surprise we were treated like Queen's. The food was over the top and the service impeccable! The scenery was also NICE!
Can't wait to go back for another "Girls Night Out"

May 27, 2008

I just ate at Bones on Saturday night to celebrate my 30th Birthday and I must say that it was a truly delicious experience. I tried a White Zinfandel and ate the Seared Spiced Grouper and it was so good. Thank you for a great Dinner!

Pros: romantic spot

Cons: expensive

May 27, 2008

Bones is my favorite restaurant in town. By far. The service is fabulous, but without being too pushy or ingratiating. I always feel like a valued customer, and people know my name. There is a certain comfort level to that. Of course, the quality of the food, including the fabulous aged prime beef, is a given. Don't miss this place for good eats in Atlanta.

May 20, 2008

Bring your appetite! Bones is a steak lover?s paradise! I had the petite NY Strip and there was nothing small about it. The staff is accommodating and the food is exceptional. Try the Pecan Pie for dessert.!

October 31, 2007

I went into Bone's with high expectations. I have heard it is the best around. I had ordered the best steak on the menu and with the experience of steakhouses that I have, I found it to be the worse of the high end steaks.
Even to the point that I am sitting down to write this review which I have never done before. The steak was burnt and the texture and flavor was something out of Longhorn's. The potatoes were obviously left over from the day before. I could have spent the $49 dollars for that steak somewhere else. No need to go back

October 15, 2007

Over the past few years I?ve been to Bone?s a handful of times. It has always been outstanding, so I expected when I made reservations to celebrate a friends birthday it would be a very special evening. What was astonishing was the attention to detail & flawless execution of service the Bone?s staff delivered in making this a truly special occasion. The moment I entered the parking I was greeted by the valet ?Welcoming? me back to Bone?s. My date was running a few minutes late so I enjoyed a drink at the bar, the bartenders let the host know I was there and transferred my drinks to the table without my asking. When we were seated the table had a tasteful amount of confetti in the center. Every person we interacted with had impeccable timing in wishing my date a Happy Birthday. Then at the end of dinner we were presented with an enormous slice of cake complete with 2 candles courtesy of Bone?s. The service staff amazed me with there ability to turn a Birthday into a very special occasion without ever crossing that fine line of coming off as rehearsed or overbearing. On this evening Bone?s turned both the Food & Service into an art form.

September 14, 2007

We went to Bone's for a birthday celebration and were well impressed with our experience. The food was great: lobster bisque was amazing, filet mignon was so tender you could cut it with a butter knife and the mashed potatoes were phenomenal, creamy and perfect. My favorite part of the meal was dessert: the chocolate truffle cake that spilled molten chocolate when you cut into it. Wow.

Pros: filet was perfectly cooked and tender and the truffle cake was unbelievable

Cons: service was so-so

August 15, 2007

We had my husband birthday dinner there with friends and we loved the service and food. I expected the service to be good but they exceeded my expectations. When we got there they knew exactly who we were and our table was decorated with happy birthday confetti. Everything we needed was there before we could ask. We all had steak and it was perfect. I would definatly recommed Bones for a special occation!!

Pros: Service!!

Cons: none come to mind

July 08, 2007

Wow! The food might be the best I've had in Atlanta and the wine selection is incredible. The meal isn't cheap, but you definitely get what you pay for. What a wonderful experience and the staff is incredible! I can't wait to go back.

April 18, 2007

While it's known for it's great steaks, i love the lobester dish there! Try the flash fried lobster.

Pros: Great steaks and seafood

March 26, 2007

This is a great place for steaks. My wife says that this is the best steak that she's had.
The service was great. The baked potato was excellent according to my mom.
The creamed corn and the spinach was also good.
The halibut was fantastic.
The crab cakes were good but not as good as Panos and Paul's,
If you are looking for a premium steakhouse this would be the place to go.

Pros: The Steaks and the service.

January 05, 2007

Whenever a high profile client of mine comes into the city, there is only one place to meet for a quality business lunch, Bones. It's not one of the newer steakhouses of recent years, but certainly sets the standard. The Prime Steaks are the best in the city. And the servers are among the best, and some have been here for years. Seafood offerings are excellent, starting with the best Shrimp Cocktail, we've ever had. No fancy fusion, just straight forward steaks and seafood. You can really close a business deal here, without any question. Wine list is huge, and yes expensive, but it's about the art of the deal. Five Stars!

Pros: Prime Steaks, Professional Service! Cozy Business Atmosphere!

Cons: None! Are You Kidding!

December 31, 2006

My husband and I visted Bones for the first time in celebration of my birthday. I thought the atmosphere was very cozy and romantic (we were tucked away in a corner) and the service was excellent. The Crab and Lobster Napoleon was so delicious that I can't stop daydreaming about it. I am not big on red meat but my husband says the steak was delicious as well. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to someone who wanted to have a great dining experience.

Pros: Crab and Lobster Napoleon and excellent service

December 27, 2006

I was in atlanta from chicago my home city and yes i am a homeboy from the concrete jungle by the Sears Tower. Steaks are king in this city along with deep dish pizza. The steak was great the drinks a tad too small and not up to Rush Street Standards. I noticed the steaks were not frozen like at mortons and the palm. Most steak houses buy frozen dry aged beef from either Allen Brothers or Stockyard Inn both of which are here in chicago. Bones buys fresh meat and ages it on the premises which makes a huge difference. Have you ever had a steak in LA? they are almost all frozen dry aged midwestern prime but once they are frozen they loose that meaty taste. Bones had that fresh meat taste. Our waiter screwed up the order and i beefed and he sent a round of drinks and desert on the house. the poor manager came to our table almost on his hands an knees apologizing which means that this joint has great management. My next trip back includes a steak a Bones you locals should be happy you have a joint like Bones in chicago we have at least 10 joints like bones so we are some spoiled yankees to say the least and to you New Yorkers in Atlanta this joint is better than Pete Lugars or Sparks!

Pros: food and service

Cons: drinks too small

December 09, 2006

Many people in Atlanta consider Bone's a great place to drink and eat. I have to agree with those people. If you want to eat a steak and just smile afterwards then go eat at Bone's. Try the MILE-HIGH PIE!!

Pros: one of the best steaks in the country

Cons: could fix a stronger drink.

November 29, 2006

Great service and Great food but for the prices charged, they should bib you and feed you by hand. A good chop steak at the waffle house will cost you $40.00 less and you'll be just as full and satisfied. And you won't have to tip two hours pay to go with the 50.00 meal. After all, we are talking COW!!!

Pros: Service

Cons: Prices(paying the property taxes)

September 21, 2006

Bones had become a tradition for my husband and I - we celebrate our anniversary there every year! We start with the seared tuna appetizer and the crab meat cocktail and follow with a warm bowl of their fantastic French onion soup (it even tops *my* recipe!). I love the Bone's Salad with the crisp green apples and cranberries. My husband is a big fan of the New York strip, and I usually get the rib eye or the filet mignon - both are buttery and wonderfully tender, cooked to perfection. Steak sauce? HA! The flavor of these steaks needs no interruptions or additions. We then end our visit to Bones with a shared piece of the Mountain High Pie - a complete indulgence and a perfect ending to a perfect meal.

We then go home, unbutton our pants, and lay on the living room floor to recover.

We've always had wonderful service as well, and the atmosphere is classy, without being too stuffy - its a great treat to get a little dressed up, but not have to worry about using the wrong fork! Bones has just a little touch of Southern charm to make it comfortable.

If you'd like a great steak, Bones is the place to go! You will not be disappointed!

September 10, 2006

Our waiter we had was rude and insulting. Finally, the atmosphere inside was horrible. He refused to refill drinks. This restaurant is very overrated. I would not recommend.

Pros: I can't think of any pros.

Cons: Expensive, Poor Service

September 02, 2006

My hotel concierge referred me to Bone's this past week. I can't say enough what pleasurable experience my guests and I had. The old school atmosphere, the food and the service all combine to make this place the real deal. Our waiter's name was Derek and was about as good as they get. His service was warm, personable and very professional. If you're to have dinner at Bone's, skip lunch. We had an appetizer platter of shrimp, lobster, mussels and crab that was astounding. My ribeye was juicy and delicious. Next time I'm in Atlanta, I will definitely return to Bone's.

Pros: These folks know what they are doing.

Cons: No cigar smoking.

August 29, 2006

I am new to the City of and Atlanta and have been desperate to find the perfect place to bring friends and family, for a top dinning experience. BONES IS IT! Finally, after hitting all the top steakhouses in the city I have been successful in finding the one. Bones is not only the finest steak I have had, but also the most exciting and intoxicating dining experience to date.
I have had the pleasure of dining in the Bones establishment on three occasions, and no longer will I go to the competetors. The entire staff from the valets to the time we left, was superior to all others. Greetings are genuine and personal upon entering and exiting the restaurant and the attention to detail is impecable . The staff is knowledgeable and provides a service that exceeds all expectations.
To any all Atlanta residents, especially those new to the area, I recommend the Bones Experience; as one worth trying!

Pros: From the valet to the time we left everything was perfect!

Cons: N/A

August 28, 2006

I was just in Bones the other night for dinner and I must say it is better then any other steakhouse in the US. I have been to them all and Bones continues the have the most professional waitstaff and darn tasty food. Thumbs up to this steakhouse. I will back, this time with more people .

Pros: Seasoned Waiters, Great Food

Cons: Don't serve breakfast

August 27, 2006

I just read the review by the woman who went to Bone's at 10:00 p.m. on Friday , August 11, ordered a glass of iced tea and complained that "she didn't get the usual good service that she was used to" from one of the waiters named "Pete". As a frequent customer of Bone's and one who has been assisted by Pete from time-to-time, I would like to point out the fact that he, like all of the other waiters at Bone's are hard-working, helpful, competent and courteous--always. The fact that this obviously sad, unhappy woman landed her broom at Bone's at crush time on a busy weekend night, and possibly was not fawned upon by a waiter who'd most likely been schleping tables since lunch time, tells me that she went there with a chip on her shoulder and Pete happened to wind up in her crosshairs. The fact remains that this is the best steak restaurant in the South and the waiters there are pros--always professional and polite to everyone. In the future, this unhappy woman needs to stay at home and vent her frustrations by kicking her dog--not Pete.

August 27, 2006

I just have to say that AtlantaGirl's (Aug. 13) review is so far off of the mark that it is pathetic. I dine at Bone's no less than twice a week, both for lunch and dinner, and have for the past few years. Nothing has changed at all!!! The service is still the best around and the food is always on point. No one is perfect and if you can find a restaurant that is, then please enlighten us all. First off, who goes to get an appetizer at 10:00 pm, maybe you are more suited for Waffle House or try Friday's. Sweetheart you will be hard pressed to find what Bone's offers anywhere in the country, much less Atlanta. These guys are awesome and I can only hope that some of them will read this and let the comments of an obviously lonely hag roll off their backs. I don't know 'Pete', but next time I am in I will definitely ask for him just to prove a point.

To you innocent readers out there, here is my perfect Bone's meal and I get it everytime. Lobster Napoleon or the Bisque (appetizer), Bone's Salad (one-of-a-kind), Bone-in Filet or Ribeye, and the pecan pie (to share of course). Try a glass of their newest Pinot Noir, it starts with a 'B', sorry I can't remember the name.

Keep it up you guys, you're doing great!!!!

Pros: Great steaks, phenomenal service, awesome wine selection

Cons: needs better music, a bathroom in the back room

August 26, 2006

ate at bone's recently, and as usual, it is still by far the best steakhouse dining experience you will have in atlanta and most other places, too. no where else comes close to the personable, attentive, hospitable and courteous service you will receive here. bad service, bad food, bad experience - i don't doubt it happens, i would just have to say it is a fluke if it does. i am also a firm believer that bad experiences are sometimes perpetuated by the customer. at bone's, if something doesn't please you, tell somebody!! i've never left there unhappy, and i've had things happen...i just tell somebody about it, the problem is rectified, and i'm happy. it's not rocket science.

August 13, 2006

I moved to Atlanta 7 years ago, and I have been to a lot of 5 star restaurants. Bones has always been my favorite restaurants because of its mouth watering steaks, outstanding service, and atmosphere. It was 10:00 PM on August 11, 2006, I was out with on of my friends, and she wanted to stop at Bones for an appetizer. I have been very strict diet: so, I cant any food after 7:30 at night. The restaurant was not that full when we arrived, and we were seated in Petes area. She ordered an appetizer, and beverage; I ordered an ice tea. He refused to give us the usually service that I have received at Bones. He didnt come back to our table to check on us, he was inconsistent with his service to our table and he to refresh our drinks. He thinks he is not going to get a high tip, he will shun you and hide in the back. Is this Bones policy? As every review has stated already, the food here is top notch. However, the service is atrocious and after last night's debacle I'll be not be returning. In the past I have always recommend this restaurant after this experience I will not be able to do this anymore.

Pros: Great Steaks

Cons: Poor Service ~ It has lost it 5 star quailty ~

July 25, 2006

I took my parents and brother (who were visiting from out of state) to Bones last week. I was hoping to show them a good time and a great meal. I had high expectations going in. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with the service, atmosphere and food. I honestly have no idea how they're rated so highly. Here were the problems-

1. It smells like smoke when you first walk in.
2. Very close seating, and very loud. It was so loud it actually hurt my dad's ears!
3. My brother's steak wasn't cooked correctly- we had to send it back. He ordered his steak Medium and it was CLEARLY medium rare. Ok, I'm sorry, but if you pay $40 for a steak- they better get it right the first time. But, even worse- we spent 10 minutes trying to get our server's attention to send it back!!
4. My steak (I had the petite filet) was my least favorite of all the steaks I've had in atlanta restaurants known for steak- Chops, Ruth's Chris, Blue Ridge Grill, NY prime, Hal's etc... they're all better.
4. We ordered dessert and 4 coffees. The dessert got to our table before the coffee. Then, when the bill came the server charged us for 4 double espressos!!! Coffee for $20!! I don't think so. They did take the coffee off... but com'mon- that's a pretty bad "mistake."
5. To top it off some- woman was pucking in the bathroom when my mom went in to use the restroom. Granted, the restaurant can't neccessarily control this one- but it didn't help the situation!

Overall- it was not anywhere close to what I was expecting. In fact, it was a disappointing experience.

There is only one reason to go to this restaurant- to show off to business colleagues on the company's tab. Do not go here for any other reason.... you'll be disappointed. I have no idea how they get off charging what they do- oh yea, probably because the only people who go there are all business men showing off to their colleagues on the company tab!!

Pros: um.... not really sure. Too much competition in this town- they don't stack up.

Cons: WAY to expensive for what you get. They're average at best.

July 20, 2006

This is what I call restaurant, best restaurant. We all impressed with the food, service, and the ambience. Thanks for the enjoyable food.
