Rates are rather expensive due to being a resort. Limited time in, then you vacate, thus not good for long term stays, ie. working in area. Has nice holiday lighting scenes.

Pros: Sites are near or on lake edge, some laundry facilities.
Cons: Limited stay time, NOT for the long termers.
I love this place. when I was growing up my family used to come up here every summer and spend our days camping and out on the lake. It's still that cool, and actually it's just gotten cooler over the years. I've never gotten to stay in the resort, BUT WOW it's lovely, with the pool and the view and just... everyting. If you need something to do that has water, camping, beaches, boating or watever your into, but you don't want to actually drive far, then go here. We went up on a Sat this year, got to the lake around 11am, spent the afternoon on a boat, grabbed some food, then was back home in candler Park by 5. It was great.

Pros: close to city, lots of things to do, too much fun in summer
Curious that all the reviews are dated 2005 or earlier. I guess no one wants to talk about the drought and the impact on tourism at the lake and the reduced availablity of amenities.

Lake Lanier Islands Resort is a great place to get away without having to drive so far. We spent a few days here over the summer and our family really enjoyed it. There is tons to do for adults and kids. The beach and waterpark is really fun and well maintained. The staff really do a great job of keeping the resort clean. During the holidays, don't miss the awesome light show. It is a six mile drive through the resort displaying what must be millions of twinkling holiday lights. My family looks forward to this every year.

It is a wonderful place to visit during summer. Your kids will love you if you bring them there. Our family have been there couple of times and everytime we can find something new there. Water is clean and great!
5Brought my family there for a few times. We go to the waterpark and the beach every year. Fun activities, rides, water attractions for both adults and kids. We can spend there the whole day. Though the entrance fee is a bit expensive, but it's worth the money. If you want some fun but not planning to drive too far for that, the Lake Lanier beach & waterpark is a great place! The resort itself is amazing. Beautiful! Sometimes in May every year the radio stations will sponsor the public to go into the waterpark at very low price. Also a great place for camping, partying, a romantic getaway and golfing.

It has got a very nice beach right on the lake and water slides...kids really enjoy ...they have mini golf course, horse riding , boat rentals...lot of activites like that...to keep you busy throughout the day...you can actually spend a day or two very comfortably...u can either stay at their resort or u can rent & camp.but all the activities are best suited for summers.

In summers, its the best place to visit. They have beach, water sports etc. U can rent a boat....just chill in the water, Can have fun on water slides..you can actually spend 2 relaxed days there. They have resort where u can just enjoy , be in light mood and can catch up with horse riding the next day and do lot of other activites too. I just love spending my time there and best is being a tourist place..its so neat and clean..so well maintained.

This is a great water park. We've gone several times. They have tons of different waters slides, a wave pool, a beach to lay out and relax on. They keep it well maintained and clean. The scenery and surroundings of it being right on the lake make it really special. It's not just a bunch of concrete to look at. Get a locker and keep your stuff in it and spend the day out here. A lot of fun for adults and kids.

They have a great beach and water park. Its right on lake lanier. The water park has water slides, wave pool and lots more. My kids just love this place. The often have great summer deals for the family.
5Lake Lanier is a beautiful resort. However, we went in mid-march during our kids spring break and less than half of the amenities were available. No where in the brochures or website does it advise about the water park or equestrian center being limited certain times of the year. It was disappointing.

Pros: Cabins are nice, Food at Resort was ok, Beautiful nature
Cons: Repairs were needed
