Ratings_icons Extremely disappointed

Michelle B.

I wouldn't put my children in a class with Susan Chambers. Despite her many year teaching experience, she seems incapable of understanding young children. During the first and only two classes my daughter attended, I watched five 4-6 year old little girls burst into tears because of her complete lack of compassion and incessant need to play favorites with the student who perform the best. She is condescending and has little patience for children who don't immediately understand what she is teaching. She attempted to teach quarter turns to 4-6 year olds using fractions. She had the young girls make an imaginary circle in the air and then she attempted to have them imagine splitting the circle into four parts to describe what a quarter is. Obviously - the children were confused. She is a strange woman in my opinion.

Ratings_icons Great dancing school!

Jacqueline W.

My daughter Chelsie just started dancing at the age of 17. She is in the Adult/Teen Jazz class in Alpharetta and loves it!

There are others in the class who are really new to dance and she feels right at home here!

Thanks!

Ratings_icons I made the switch to Susan Chambers

Jane D.

My daughter Sarah was 10 years old, and she had been dancing at another studio in the area since she was three years old. I switched because I felt that Sarah was not improving, and there were a lot of teenagers teaching her classes.

I was appalled at what I had been paying for at my previous studio when I saw the tap classes at Susan Chambers where 7 year old's were more advanced than my daughter at 10- I was amazed!

But with a lot of patience and support from the school, Sarah was placed in a perfect class and was right where she needed to be. She has been dancing here for three years and is getting better each year- although I have never danced I can see a big difference.

I just wanted Sarah to get the best opportunity that she could have, and now that she is 13 she is thinking about trying out for the dance company. Definitely try it out! It was worth it for us.

Ratings_icons Would not go here

Carol S.

This is not the best dance school if you are an older beginner. My 10 year old was not encerraged and felt fusterated because she always had to stand in the back because they only allow good dancers to be in the front of the class. The teacher would say 'move to the back row' if she cant figure out the steps right away. My daughter would come home crying because she was embarased by it. We moved to another studio after a year and now my daughter loves to dance, specialy tap and hiphop.

My daugher was a student at Chambers School of Dance for many years. I was very pleased with the instructors and how they helped my daughter gain new dancing schools. They also put on a lovely recital, which was enjoyable for the whole family. This is a great school for beginning dancers, as well as those who are more advanced.
