If I could give a ZERO, I would!

I tried to book massages and mani/pedi(s) for three people for my friend's 40th birthday almost a week in advance. I called and spoke with a person named Misty on a Wednesday. She said she would try and make sure they had the personnel to cover the services. I called again on Thursday and Misty advised that she had not forgotten, but was still trying to line up personnel. I called AGAIN on Friday and spoke with someone different. I advised her that I'd been calling and just wanted an answer. There was some confusion about the services I requested, which we promptly straightened out and she advised it would be much easier to staff the appointments. Then she said that there was someone in front of her who required service and she would call me right back. Apparently my name and number were near the phone because she confirmed my cell phone number. There was NEVER a return phone call on Friday, Saturday or Sunday. I called AGAIN on Monday morning (6 days now I've been trying to book 3 appointments worth $600). I spoke with Elroy and he was unhelpful. I was put on hold twice when asking about rearranging some of the services. I told him I'd been calling since last Wednesday. There was no effort to try and help me figure out a solution. I was the one trying to work it out. I promptly told him goodbye and called Natural Body Spa. This was going to be my first experience at Key Lime and needless to say I won't be calling back. I'm sticking with Natural Body. They are a tad bit more expensive, but the quality and the customer services is ALWAYS excellent no matter which location I visit. I called and got my 3 appointments with NO problem and in the time slot I requested. GO TO NATURAL BODY...you'll never consider Key Lime again!

i had an appointment with a girl named Dana. after i tried to get in with the wonder dj who i was supposed to see but i just got passed down to Dana and a cut with a guy named Robert. i hated my highlights and cut. Dana didn't really even consult with me and was running about 40 minutes late. Robert kept talking to the girl stationed next to him and seemed uninterested. horrible service. horrible everything. never going back.

This place was deplorable. You go in and expect a spa experience, but are greeted by a bunch of unprofessional individuals who have a chip on their shoulder. I will never return. Ever.

I love the whole experience of Key Lime Pie!! I started coming late last year in 2009. f you want great, smooth hair and a stylist that will listen to what you want, go to Jenny!! From the moment Icame in, she listened to what i wanted, and did exactly that! i have naturally wavy hair, and wanted to do something shorter with layers, and she helped me decide a good length. After we were all done, i loved it!! I'm so glad i took my hair shorter...I have been coming here ever since.

I was trying to set up a bachelorette spa party. I called Key Lime Pie 6 times - each time they confirmed that they would call me back within the day, hour, etc to set up the details and I never received a proactive call back from them - I was the one that had to do all of the follow up. I only tried to book here because of the location and it was recommended. I have never had such awful customer service - I would never go here and will be sure to reply back to the person that recommended it that she must be smoking something.

I would pretty much go anywhere else in Atlanta for a massage.
None of the staff seemed happy to be there, or even willing to act like it for the customers.
I feel bad saying this, but, the massage therapist did not smell good. As in, I had to hold my breath because of her body odor.
That combined with the mediocre massage was, like I said...not good.
Never going back.

I had an appointment with Sara who is supposed to be a master stylist that charges 50 dollars. The entire experience, hair cut, style, etc. was garbage. I truly could've gotten a better cut, style, and even a nicer stylist anywhere else. She seemed totally rushed and inattentive to what she was doing. She didn't explain what products she put in my hair unless I asked. One of the things I usually love about higher end salons, is the the feeling of rapport and friendship you can have with your stylist. In this instance, it completely lacked. In all actuality, I could've forgiven the poor customer service and attention if she would've turned out a great cut and style. Unfortunately, that did not happen. My 13 yr old cousin could've straightened my hair 10x better than she did. She flipped some pieces out and flipped some pieces in and NONE of my hair was shiny or smooth. I ended up having to go home and re-straighten my hair so it looked somewhat presentable. I will never go back here again and I wish I would've seen all these reviews before I made an appointment here. Next time, I'll just stick to my wonderful stylist at Van Michaels (who was unfortunately booked for the one day I needed her)

I have been going to KLP for 15+ years. I have never felt any of the negitive comments I have read on here. DJ is a excellent owner and takes good care of her clients, the staff is five star and well trained. I have tried others but always come back to KLP. Go relax in the spa and enjoy this Atlanta gem. Love you guys. Bob Fawcett

Was on time for a 9:45 single process color touch up appointment. Stylist "Dana" finally came over at 10:05. No "sorry I'm running late" nothing. Takes ten minutes to get roots done. Then left sitting there for almost another 1 and 1/2 hours while she dealt with other customers. Usually don't write reviews on these sites but this is the SECOND time this has happened. I paid almost $80 for a horrible experience.

Pros: close to my house

Cons: customer service challenged

Worst spa experience ever!!! The incompetent staff made the spa unbearable. The staff will not call you back to schedule appointments. The receptionist is rude and condescending. Anytime you have a question you will sit on hold for at least 10 minutes, then when the pick back up they have forgotten that they put you on hold. The worst customer service I have ever had at a spa. I do not recommend this spa to anyone for any reason.

I didn't pay attention to the negative reviews and should have. I had appts. for mani/pedi/haircut/ and color--a day for me before Christmas. The mani/pedi was very good--although, my nails ended up ruined because of putting on a smock for the haircut. While I was getting my mani, the stylist came over to check on me--said it wasn't a problem that the mani was running late--she talked to me about what I wanted done to my hair............15 minutes later she returned stating that she was given an "add-on" therefore I couldn't get my color done that day, but I could return the following day. I don't know if I was "bumped" for a regular client or what. I'm new to the area and my salon in Cary, NC highly recommended this salon........I was deeply disappointed that I didn't get my hair color, and my nails were ruined as well--the haircut wasn't good either--not for all of my cowlicks or for my texture. I'm going to a different salon tomorrow!

I have been going to Key Lime off and on for years. I had moved away back to Buckhead and tried to find a great stylist. This past week- i made an appt-and was not sure who to use and i ended up getting a young girl that just moved here from Florida. Her name is Megan-i must say i am pretty picky with my hair and wanted someone who listens. My hair cut was the best i have had in years- and was at the time paying top $$. The prices are great the and service is just the best, including the front desk and staff that checks on you from time to time. I just love my hair and now have found a great stylist. If you want a great hair cut and someone that listens to you, go to Megan. I have now found a great stylist and will continue to do all my services at Key Lime. Anything negative you here about salon is wrong..great salon, and megan is great. Thanks-janetann :)

DJ refuses to give information on her past employees, and even tells clients they no longer work in the industry.

Lili Wu (esthetician) is at Jolie the Day Spa in Buckhead 404-266-0060. The front desk knows what they're doing, the management knows how to run a business and the technicians are licensed.

Chadd Jonesmith (hair stylist) is at A La Mode in Midtown 404-351-5775. He owns the business and has defnitely learned NOT what to do from DJ. The salon is quiet, no drama and his business is thriving.

I just moved to ATL about 7 months ago and decided to go to Key Lime after a recommendation from a co-worker. I made an appointment with the owner, but she only picked the color and let someone else do it. I wanted to just get a touch-up on roots since I had my hair colored and highlighted in NJ before I left for ATL.

The color did not match the rest of my hair. It came out darker! They did not know what they were doing! I was very upset. However, the funniest part is that everyone complainted me on how nice my hair color was but Key Lime DID NOT color and/or highlighted my hair originally it was my salon in NJ.

I would never go back there again! I am so scared to try another salon in ATL that I just wait until I go to NJ to get it color and cut.

I didn't know where to go and trusted the place bc of the location and atmosphere. When I called to request someone who had been there the longest I found that the employee there the longest had only been with KLP a few years which concerned me a bit. I went with the owner instead... She is crazy and she gave me a freaking mullet! She was so mean to her employees it made me more tense than a bad day at work! Don't go here I wish I had read reviews before going. Now I have to deal with my hair until I can get it fixed and I wasted a lot of money.

WHAT A DYNAMIC GROUP OF PEOPLE!!! I've been to many spas all around the country,as well as on cruise ships. The people who are employed at Key Lime are just wonderfull . The spa and salon experience as well as the overall customer service are top notch . All I can say is Thank You All.

This place is awful. Most of the employees are not licensed. The front desk staff must be on something. The owner makes you wait for at LEAST an hour for your appt because she never shows up on time. She's a little tiny troll that makes her employess lives miserable. The turn over rate is so high, she can't keep good staff.

I wouldn't want an unlicensed Esthetician working on my face would you??

Avoid at all cost. Go next door to Van Michaels for a hair cut and down the street to Natural body for skin care and massages.

The woman is nuts and the staff is dangerous if you ask me. The can cause some serious damage to someones skin

After being on hold a long time with woman who didn't seem to know what she was doing(typical), made rsv to surprise wife w/ 4hr spa package. Lady even told me from about 2:30 to 7:00 for all services. Wife got there and they only had her down for a 30 minute massage! How does that happen? Will never go there again. If you are dumb enough to book there, be prepared for disappointment.

I used to go to Key Lime Pie and left because I was sick of the horrendous customer service. I went to Fresche, which received excellent reviews in CitySearch. Although their customer service is much better, my hair color was disappointing to say the least. Not to mention, it was almost twice as much as other salons I've gone too. I went back to Key Lime and found Suzanne who now does my color. She is wonderful! I have received so many compliments on my hair color now that I go to her. Plus, she does such a great job that I don't have to go to the salon as often for touch-ups. The customer service hasn't improved that much, but I'll put up with it to get great hair color.

I am new to salons and did not go to Key Lime with a totally clear idea of what I wanted, but I had the jist- a natural pretty hair cut and color to look elegant for my wedding. While I was very pleased with the layout, style and extras of Key Lime (tea, coffee, water, changing rooms to keep day clothes clean if you are getting color, and many spa extras), I was less than pleased with my cut. Much shorter than I asked for, brightly colored hair that required another also failed fit and an exceptionally long wait for both of those to be completed. If my request for assistance and expert advise was ill timed- I wish they would have said so and not allowed me to make an appointment. I am currently completely spa-shy and hesitant to try another venue at all. Truly disappointed.

Ladies ! Please don't try it - I was left with ammonia based highlight foils ON MY HEAD as my stylist left town for the WEEKEND on a Friday afternoon. They had to pull someone off of another haircut to rinse me, but it was too late. Truly, it was the most traumatic hair experience I've ever had. Well over two years later and still growing out what didn't break off.

Hot roots, broken hair, and worst part about it - they ignored my request for my money back!

Whenever I see "Salon and Spa" I usually get leery because a Spa should be serene at all times. Key Lime Pie has mastered this concept because the spa is very separate. The concern is the service can sometime be inconsistent. The therapists are good but the front desk is not always knowledgeable and responsive. For the prices, you would expect more.

I'd been a loyal KLP customer since 1997 and during that time I'd had two stylists (Brandi and Louie)- that is until the past 1.5 years. Since then I've had 4 and not very good experiences with any. The straw that broke the camel's back was when I came in and had the owner DJ butcher my hair. I was 7 months pregnant and told her I just wanted it thinned out. 3.5 hours later after she flitted from customer to customer and had trainee after trainee come look at how "awful" my hair was due to too much product I walked out of there with the shortest most ill fitting hair cut of my life (this would include my childhood visits to a budget training salon). I had people literally ask me "what happened to your hair". I will never walk into the place again. Wouldn't the owner of a salon know not to drastically cut a pregnant woman's long hair? I guess not. Still trying to find Louie that I went to for 8 years. Can anyone tell me if they know where he is now?

I recently purchased Key Lime's
massage/manicure/pedicure 3-hour spa package as a gift for my husband. As he was scheduling his appointment we had some
confusion about the time-frame of the package. They wanted to schedule
his manicure/pedicure 1 hour after his massage had ended - when he asked
why, he was told that the extra time was to make sure he got to each of
his appointments...
Upset, I spoke with the staff later and was assured that his package would
include an hour-massage, a 1.5 hour manicure and pedicure, and a
half-hour "sensory journey". Unfortunately, this did not turn out to be
true - his appointment started at 5pm and promptly ended at 7pm. It seems
that there were only 2 hours of services and one hour of potential
waiting time. I purchased the 3-hour package because I thought he would
get three hours worth of spa services! I have enjoyed the waxing
and salon aspects of Key Lime in the past, but I have to say that I
am very dissatisfied with the misleading advertising strategies. I wrote to the management and have yet to hear back. I am glad that I didn't to give more packages as gifts - I would have been
quite embarrassed.

Cons: misleading advertising of spa services, management responsiveness to problems!!!

I can honestly say that although the wait is long at key lime pie i have always enjoyed my time and expierience there. The atmosphere, staff and energy always made me feel at home and important a little like a rock star actually. This includes DJ Freed herself. On that note i would like to let everyone know that although my intent is not to take anyone from this beautiful salon Sidney has not in fact, left to open a restraunt,do missonary work or move to Indiana. He is at Marie Marie Salon in Kirkwood.

For my first appointment I had to wait almost 2 hours. They did feed me tea and muffins, and the stylist, Julian, seemed apologetic. He gave me a great creative haircut, so I was willing to go back. I saw him once more before trying to make an appointment and being told that neither he nor the colorist I used were still at the salon. Fine, I said, make me an appointment with someone else. They hooked me up with Sidney, and again I was happy enough with the cuts to go back even though wait times ranged from fifteen minutes to almost an hour. Today I found out that Sidney is gone too, which according to these reviews is par for the course. I've never seen a salon with this kind of staff turnover. I'll try some of the salons that are being mentioned here, like Fresche and Midtown Hair, and avoid KLP from now on.

Pros: You can get a cool haircut.

Cons: You'll never see your stylist again.

The reviews are right - the owner DJ is NUTS!!! She can't keep her staff - she drove one assistant to tears screaming at her in front of everyone and that makes you so uncomfortable when you are trying to get a "haircut" - if you can call it that - I was very unhappy - the stylists are always changing and I was speaking to mine only to realize that she (as well as a large majority of the staff) are unlicenced and inexperienced - (I guess that explains the lousy cut) and I had to wait for an hour and a half! Also, the place looks pretty but - the palmettos crawling around ... uuuuuugh! STAY AWAY - DON"T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY ON THIS PLACE!!!! HEED THE WARNINGS (unless you love being treated poorly and recieving the worst cut EVER!)

i sincerely wish i would have read the reviews and i would have STAYED FAR AWAY!!. it was the worst experience i've had. i had a partial highlight and haircut and was there for FOUR, yes, FOUR hours. she went from my hair to others and left my highlights on for 1hr (vs. 30min norm). the highlights were awful.. she cut layers so the top was blond and the underneath was brown. i looked two-tone. moreover, when i called back to nicely say that i needed to get it fixed, they made no apologies and couldnt get me in in the next two days. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE. I sincerely question the "best of's..." litigimacy. i've never seen one that makes it w/ this bad of reviews.

I have been to Key Lime Pie several times in the past year, and was never thirlled with my service there, but the location was good and the price was o.k. and my experiences with my color services were always fine. I just wasn't happy with the vibe in there, the owner seemed like a loon and you could feel the change in the air when she entered the room. The last two times I was there I had Marianne do my color and Cody do my haircut and I loved it! They were both very professional and did beautiful jobs.I recently called to book my next appointment with them and was told that both Marianne and Cody were gone. I don't know where Cody went,if anybody knows please post, but a friend of mine told me that Marianne was working in Buckhead at Robin Stiles Salon. Its a little pricier there, but totally worth the trip, plus its got a great vibe. Its small, but everyone is very sweet and accomidating. Warning to anyone thinking about going to Key Lime Pie- read the previous reviews- they are so true!

We all have read the reviews and know that not only is DJ (the owner) crazy ,but a bad person to work for . However, I found her SHANNON THE BEST COLORIST I have ever had @ Helmet on N.Highland (404) 249-9133 she is the best

Tried this salon (Key Lime) since it is a good location and looks professional. but, I warn you to take heed to the many poor reviews that keep appearing about this salon. the employees stand around staring and talking about the customers (I know, I heard them). And, if you must go here, avoid having Sidney do your hair. He cut my hair far shorter than I had asked, but, then, he didn't seem to really care about listening to what I wanted evidenced by a blank stare, a frown as if miffed, and with no comment at all while I tried to tell him how I like my hair cut and styled. I wish I had not gone to him as my hair now looks like it was cut by an untrained person. I didn't say anything because I was so upset; I had to run out and try to fix it myself with a pair of sewing scissors.

I have been a customer for 3 years, the service there is horrible, the only reason I continued to go was to see Eric he cuts and colors my hair. He recently left but one of my friends found him. He?s now working at Midtown Hair Studio

I feel so bad for the clients that have to even write the mass of negative reviews. This is not to con or pro KLP having never gotten my hair done there. I did however apply for a job there about a year ago and thank goodness I did not get a call back just from what I've read. ::PHEW:: Billy and Mimi are both working at fresche the salon in Grant Park. So please put your mind and your hair at ease and come see them. They are awesome to work with and perfection is what they create in any hair style.

I've been going to the salon for over 5 years but in the last two I've noticed serious turnover problems in the salon section. (not as much in the spa). I've had two bad cuts in a row, and DJ is now doing my color and its not going well. I noticed someone had found Mimi, anyone know where Katie, Eric, Sabine, Jeanette or Tim are now working? I even liked Billy (who was very new). I'm just not sure I can trust the salon to be consistent. The last two times, my color was also off, didnt seem to match my previous formulas...

I have been going to Key Lime Pie for about a year and a half and I will never be back! While it is really convenient to my home and uses Aveda products and I've never had a bad haircut, I think the owner (DJ) is pretty crazy and makes the atmosphere miserable for everyone there. I've probably been through about 6 stylists in the 18 months I've gone there. I was with Said for a couple of cuts and then he was fired. Then they rehired him for a few months, and yesterday I called KLP to find out that he's "no longer with Key Lime Pie". I am tired of being juggled from one new stylist to another, only to have that one fired or quit after a cut or two. This is poor customer service to assume that customers will keep flocking despite not having enough time to build trust or rapport or a relationship with a stylist.

Whenever DJ is around, everyone is really tense and unhappy and quiet. When's she out, it's much more relaxed. I feel some loyalty to my stylists but not to the salon itself after seeing how uncomfortable it seems there.

I've only had a long wait once - otherwise, I was always served within a couple of minutes after walking in. However, my stylists have all been very meticulous (I have very short hair) so the cuts took up to 90 minutes.

My recommendation is that if you have a stylist there that you love, sneak him/her your contact info on your way out. I don't know if anyone has ever tried this, but I wish I had with all the stylists I went through while there who I would like to track down. I am never going back to KLP!

Thanks to whoever found Mimi and Fresche - I'll go to her unless I can find Said!

I had been goign to KLP for about 1.5 years. During that time I never once had my hair cut by the same person. While I had the same colorist, she informed me she was leaving on the down low since it is not any salons obligation to tell you your colorist is leaving (they want you with them not to follow the colorist). Once she moved she finally told me why their was such high turn over... besides being treated poorly by the owner, they were also being ripped off by her as well. I want to try thier message/facial but am reluctant. I never had a prpblem with waiting or service.

When I first got to KLP I was offered tea and complimented... It was nice, I was walked back and began my highlights. The colorist I had was extremely concentrated and didnt talk much. But once he rinsed my hair out I noticed that the color was probably the best I'd ever had. Unfortunately it took another 45 minutes to style my hair which I have to admit was definitely world class. Overall it was the best color and style I'd ever had but unless your going to a photoshoot this is NOT the salon for you.

I'm not one to bash an establishment without sufficient data. I've been going to KLP for a year because it was recommended by a friend when I moved to Atlanta. LIke many who have posted reviews, I continued going to KLP because of Mimi (thanks btw to the customer who found her at Fresche). Mimi is great and I can't say enough good things about her. However, the customer service at KLP is nonexistent. In the past year I have gone through 3 colorists because everybody keeps quitting. Each time the salon has not had the decency to call me and let me know that my colorist quit, instead they just let me show up and tell me that because of the unfortunate situation, DJ (the owner) will color my hair. DJ has never even touched my head. Each time, I actually got an inexperienced assistant with DJ telling her what to mix - I've gotten better results in my own bathroom. To top it all off, the "amazing" DJ is always backed up, last time was the worst and the straw the broke the camel's back - my color took 4.5 hours. I was furious! I tried to get my formula from them so I could take it to another Aveda salon with no luck - I'd rather just risk it than waste another ENTIRE day at KLP.

I recently made a wax appointment at Key Lime Pie and when I called to make my appointment, a stylist answered the phone, so my booking took at least 20 minutes. I understood the amount of time and I appreciated the fact that they were cross-training their employees...or so I thought. Anyway, the appoinment was confirmed for a Saturday so I rearranged my work schedule for Sat. and planned on being there. Well, Friday night at 8pm I received a call informing me that I was schdeduled for an appointment that morning (friday) and so I apologized and explained that I thought the appointment was Saturday morning. After that, she then asked me for my credit card because I needed to take care of the appointment due to their 48 hour cancelation policy. I was furious. I explained that a stylist had made my appointment and that she had confirmed a Saturday with me, also that no one had explained the cancleation policy to me so even if I had done it on purpose, I still wouldn't have paid. Anyway, she put me on hold for a couple minutes, got back on the phone and explained that they had had a rough day that day and apologized. I then tried to rebook and she said that they had no openings. I was completely unhappy with the entire situation and will never go there or refer anyone. Being in the same kind of business, I hope they learn that wether you have an opening or not, it is best to attempt to squeeze in a client or at least provide some kind of a solution. I had made the appointment before I was leaving town, so getting that phone call Friday night at 8pm made it impossible for me to get another appointment before I left.

i went to key lime spa for three years for massages and waxing. the turnover among employees is high and none of the employees I worked with were happy with the ownership and management. this translates into generally mediocre service and an unpleasant experience. I won't go back despite living two blocks away.

I won't go back despite living two blocks away.

Pros: location, decor

Cons: service
