I had my baby in August of 2010 and had a horrible experience. I wasn't in the room five minutes before I was being pushed into a C-Section. Well, I had one after being there for 12 hours, but my ordeal wasn't over yet. I had a terrible recovery, it was a nightmare. My doctors (Gwinnett OB) blew off all the trouble I was having, discharged me with a fever, and didn't do anything when I was back in their office 4 days later worse than when I was discharged. I went back to the Eastside OR 1 week postpartum, was admitted for reasons they didn't bother to tell me, then told to give my baby to someone to take care of because I was considered a "dirty case". I told them to go you know where and needless to say, did not send the baby off. They were horrible. Come to find out, after having my care transferred to Piedmont Hospital, I had STAPHYLOCOCCUS EPIDERMIDIS! Yes, I got a staph infection from the surgery! I also had Pseudomonas, ESBL (An aggressive form of E-COLI), and another Staph Species. My blood cultures were all positive, so that means I was septic. I spent an additional three weeks in the hospital, and had to have a PICC Line placed to receive daily antibitiotic infusion therapy for a month. I have horrible scarring, both emotional and physical. Think they care? NO! If you value your life, NEVER GO TO THIS HOSPITAL!!!

When I had my surgery at Eastside Medical Center I received the best care. My nurses were really great and I was very impressed with my overall care. I would not hesitate to return to Eastside.

When I had my daughter I stayed at the brand spankin new Womans Center at Emory Eastside. The nurses were wonderful and the facilities were top notch. I got the latest technology and best care available anywhere, but the best part was it was close to home. I would definitely recommend.
