I went to Christopher and was VERY pleased with my cut. I have long hair that could always use a little extra body- and the cut he game me moved naturally and was exactly what I wanted (even thought I wasn't totally sure what that was)!
He was careful to ask me questions and run his ideas by me first.
I'm really glad I went and would DEFINITELY recommend him to others searching for a steady stylist. Quality

It was time for a new look. I was recommended to a stylist at Van Michael and decided to read the reviews before I made an appointment. To my surprise
all I saw was client after client raving about a standout stylist named Harry. They loved the way he cut and styled their hair. They also appreciated Harry as a person. I always like to work with the best, so I decided to see for myself. I set certain criteria to determine if Harry was as good as the reviews indicated. The first criteria was the cut. Being that I had a great haircut, I didn't know how Harry could improve on it. He did. Harry works with you, not imposing his vision, but using his talents to create a style that you described, that is better than what you asked for. What stands out is the quality of the cut. He made very small changes that changed the look in a big way. The second criteria was: could I leave the house at 7:00 a.m. and style my own hair effortlessly. Big surprise. Harry's haircut was easy to style. So far, all the wonderful comments about Harry were true. So I decided to check further. I interviewed other clients. Every client loved Harry. I noticed that each client had a great cut that was uniquely suited to their style. Harry's work is amazing and so is Harry.

This hauty-tauty salon is one of the more expensive in Atlanta, but if you're looking to stretch your money, new-talents are the way to go. These young, fresh colorists and stylists have significant training before they see clients... Unlike hair schools, you can request the same new talent everytime you go and can expect a top-notch experience. If you find someone you LOVE, make sure you get your stylist's contact info, because once they have Van Michael experience, these skilled stylists often go elsewhere to expand their techniques and skills... and don't count on Van Michael to lead you in their direction.

If you are looking for an excellent colorist in the Atlanta area, look no further than Chrissy Anderson at this location of Van Michael. Chrissy has been coloring my hair for years and I will not see anyone else. I have changed my colors many times and I always get exactly what I asked for. She listens and the result is beautifully colored hair. She has a fun and upbeat personality that makes the whole experience enjoyable. If you want a great colorist, go see Chrissy! You will not be dissapointed!

Harry recently gave me the best haircut I have ever had in my life. I came into the salon with an idea of what I wanted but Harry surpassed my own expectations by far. While I was there I received a soothing massage and shampoo from his assistant followed by the best hair cut of my life. I left looking and feeling like a new and improved ME. Everywhere I go I receive tons of compliments on my hair and owe it all to Harry and the Van Michael Team. I think that Harry improved me but also helped to represent my personality through my hair... it is amazing! I definitely can?t wait for my next appointment and am now a permanent customer and will be for life!

I live in Dallas, TX and make sure I travel to Atlanta every few weeks for a cut at Van Michael Salon. Harry is the best! I have lived in Los Angels and Dallas, and there isn't another salon anywhere that compares to Van Michael. I am an artist and recognize that Harry Wood is an artist also. I give him "creative license" to cut my hair as he envisions the style. He has never disappointed me. It is about relationship. I trust Harry implicitly.

Lets be honest here, I am not a good looking person. Harry made me look handsome. I came into the salon looking a little rough and saw Harry for a haircut. I got a relaxing massage and shampoo from his assistant followed by the best hair cut of my life. I left looking and feeling like a million bucks. When I went out that weekend I got all sorts of attention from the ladies for the first time in a wile. I blame Harry and his great hair cut for my success. I am a customer for life!

What's great about Harry...
The hair cut is first rate, he is a champion when it comes to customer service, great sense of humor, and most of all her cares about the individual as well as the customer. Even in today's tough economy I will continue to go to Harry. He will give my hair a touch up to make sure it looks super right before an interview or a special occasion. - Harry, You're the bomb!

I moved to Atlanta about 7 years ago from Seattle and was getting my hair done in Seattle by one of the best. I found Harry and my hair has never looked better. I have fine, thin, straight hair and Harry makes me look great. Not only that, Harry has become a friend and seen me through some rough times. You not only get one awesome haircut, you get attention and a level of personal interaction that cannot be found elsewhere. You will not be disappointed - Harry is a magician with scissors!!

I first started with Harry Wood in 1992 at the Buckhead Salon. Harry has been cutting my hair ever since. Everytime I go in I receive an awesome cut that meets my lifestyle and time commitment. Harry has also been there for me through many lifechanging experinces. After losing my hair due to a severe brain trauma he would meet my at the salon before it opened (as I was extremely self conscienous of my scars) to give my new hair a shape up making me feel special. After going through cancer a few years later he gave me a cut(s) that was easy to manage through my hospitalizations and always called to check on me. He also cuts my son's hair and will always find time to fit him in on his visits home from college--I'm sure that many stories have been swapped between the two of then that I am glad not to know about!! Harry is attentive and will listen to your needs and his expertise and confidence in his talents make him an outstanding and professional stylist for anyone. His recommendations are always right on! Thank you Harry for all of these great years together!!!!!!

It's unfortunate that Michael Campbell is no longer with Van Michael. What a shame! He is a Top Stylist for women of color and Van Michael should be ashamed that they do not care about their loyal clients that are also women of color. I will never go back to Van Michael, it is apparent that my needs are of no concern for them.

I have been a faithful client of Van Michael Salon since I moved to the Sandy Springs area several years ago from my beloved Chicago salon that I went to since I was a kid. So being in unfamiliar territory was definately a fear of mine but my neighbors and other moms at my school reassured me that I would be impressed. Was I EVER! I have seen both Jeffrey and Daniel for my cuts and they have been equally impressive. Jen as been doing my color since day 1 and I won't ever leave her. I will never get my hair done in Chicago again! Make sure you get a chance to look as good as I do!

Sage is the best colorist. I love being able to just relax when i have my hair done. I know that I can trust her with my hair color. She makes me feel like I am her only client! She's the best! Nicki cuts my hair and that girl can cut some layers! She is always in a great mood and I love being in her chair. I am so lucky to have found such a great team to make me look my best! Hurry and get a appointment with these girls. Make sure to call at least 3 weeks in advance they book up fast!

Whether you are an Atlanta native or just moved here- you have to look your best, and you will when HARRY WOOD is your stylist. HARRY has been styling my hair for almost 5 years and I never have to worry about my hairstyle. HARRY ALWAYS creates the best cut you will ever have- all you need to do is tell him what you want, sit back and RELAX! It doesn't matter if your hair is thin and straight (like mine) or curly, HARRY will make your hair Beautiful. I've been going Van Michael Sandy Springs for nearly three years and have thoroughly enjoyed each and every visit! It's so refreshing to go to a salon where hair styling is treated as a fine art. As an Atlanta traffic reporter for Kicks 101.5 FM and True Oldies 106.7, it's important that I look my absolute best any time I appear in public! Harry does a fabulous job! I get compliments all day long on my hair and it owe it all to him and the wonderful staff at Van Michael!

I have been going to harry for years to get my haircut. I am a college student out of state, but I always wait to get my haircut when I come home so Harry can cut my hair. He always does such a good job, and he styles my hair just the way I like it. He has been cutting my hair for so many years, that I don't even need to tell him what I like. Harry Wood has been my hairdresser for the past 12 yrs. and I completely TRUST him. I can walk right out of his salon and go wherever I need to and not have to "fidget" with my hair or fix it back the way I like it. He's a master at his craft and I am SO glad I found him. I am a long time client of Harry Wood. I will admit that I have tried other people in the past but always end up going back to Harry. I have never gotten a hair cut that I didn't love! The price is a little high but worth every penny! I highly recommened Harry and Van Michael Salon!

Jackson always gives me the color I ask for and helps me look great. She does the prettiest highlights I have ever had.!!! and I love getting my color done with her because she is so sweet and fun to talk to.....My hair cuts are also the best ever ...I love Nickie and Kitt, and go to whoever can see me.They are both awesome with my frizzy unruly hair.!...and nickie is a LAYERING queen!

The Best!
Harry Wood at Van Michael Sandy Springs is the best. He has been my lifesaver many times, whether it be a haircut or running in on the spur of the moment to have my bangs trimmed. The haircut is not a "rubber stamp". He assesses your facial features, your lifestyle, everything and offers suggestions. He actually takes the time to listen.....he has the patience of a saint......he makes sure the client is the happy one! I constantly receive compliments on my hair and it has never looked better. I wouldn't consider going anywhere else.

I just moved to Atlanta from SC. Ofcorse first things first I needed to find a new colorist. I asked my co-workers for a recommendation and they all raved about Van Michael. I was a tad nervous going in to my appointment but that was quickly changed by a warm greeting. Mac did a wonderful job. She really took her time talking to me about my hair ( what I liked and didn't like) and the different service options. She was super knowledgeable about my "resistant" (her word) gray hair and the color turned out beautiful. She even gave me great tips on how to make the color last longer. Over all, it was a great experience and I can't wait to go back. Thanks Mac!

When my husband gave me Matt Cauvel's card 6 yrs. ago as a New Talent colorist at Van Michael in Norcross, (the Forum on Peachtree Pkwy. location), I wasn't sure what to expect. He did such a great job that I left my current colorist at the time, and have never looked back! I have been w/Matt since then, and while he is now 1 of the highest level Van Michael colorists, he is worth EVERY PENNY!! I have been hi- lighting my hair since I was 17 yrs. old, and my hair has never looked as good as when Matt does my color. He is attentive, talented, kind, and simply a wonderful person, and I look forward to getting my high-lights every time I go see him. I cannot recommend him highly enough for getting color or high-lights. I promise that you will not be disappointed!

After many years of going to Van Michael in Virginia Highlands, I switched to the Sandy Springs location out of convenience. I am very happy with the results. The receptionists set me up with Sadie for color and Jeffrey for cut. The two of them convinced me to change my look. Jeffrey cut 10 inches off my hair and Sadie did an amazing job at accentuating my new cut. I get compliments everywhere I go and I feel great! Both of them were very nice and are extremely talented. Also, the receptionists are very polite and accommodating, just like at the Highlands location. I am so thankful that my location switch has turned out so good! I miss Courtney in Virginia Highlands, but am happy that I found Jeffrey and Sadie in Sandy Springs.

I change my look frequently, and only trust one person in Atlanta to cut my hair. Jeffrey has given me everything from short crops to sleek bobs to fun textured looks that accentuate my naturally curly hair with effortless precision every time. The customer service in the salon is excellent, as is the atmoshpere.

Jeffrey has his finger on the pulse of the fashion world and uses that expertise to consistently find new looks that compliment my face shape, lifestyle and personality. His creativity and talent will continue bringing me back to Van Michael Salon for years to come.

After having another colorist mess up my hair color (at another salon), I visited Sage to get it fixed. She was wonderful! She patiently listened to what I did not like about the current color of my hair and made sure that before we did anything, we went through her books and picked out the color that I was looking for so that the same mistakes were not made again. We talked about the colors that were right for my skin tone and that would complement my natural color. She was very pleasant and easy to talk to. I walked into the salon miserable and feeling horrible about my hair, but she allowed me to leave feeling 100% better! And the best part was that I didn't feel I needed to hide under my hat anymore! Thank you so much!! She is definitely my new colorist from now on!

Had my hair cut with Len, it was one of the best experiences I've had at a salon here in Atlanta. After a long conversation in which Len showed me pictures from his portfolio and explained my face shape and he explained what would work best for me we picked a new style for me. After this I was given a head massage followed by a hand massage during the haircut, Very pampering(i like that kind of stuff) Very happy and will recommend to everyone.

I just had an amazing color and cut last week at Van Michael in Sandy Springs! Carol did the color and Jeffrey did the cut. The rest of the staff was really friendly, too. I was pampered from beginning to end with shoulder massages and hand massages, and great conversation as well. I will be back!

This salon is definitely a cut above -- no pun intended. While other I've been to around town also certainly have capable stylists, Van Michael seems to have the entire salon experience down pat. So imagine getting a great haircut but also enjoying every minute of your visit. I'm never going anywhere else!

I have been to Van Michael in Buckhead a few times and loved the experience, then I switched to a lesser known salon when I moved...BIG MISTAKE! Finally I decided I needed to go back to Van Michael and made an appointment with Jennifer in Sandy Springs! Best decision ever! She is so wonderful and attentive. She listened to my hair woes and fixed everything in one visit. I'll never stray again!
