I used Texaco Express Lube's $19.00 Oil Change Special a total of two times. The deal is great; but the second time I went to this place turned into a complete nightmare.

The Oil change was fine. But apparently when they checked my fluids they "misplaced" my radiator cap. To make a long story short, my radiator cap blew off on the interstate after I left and my vehicle's engine quickly over-heated.

They helped initially with a $750 repair on the engine, which were easily identifiable damaged parts (distribution cap & rotor, new plugs, etc...), to a repair shop of my choice of course, but the buck stopped there.

At least that's what they thought.

I ended up suing them, and winning a judgment in Fulton County Magistrate Court for a total of $3,500.00 (three thousand five hundred dollars), which I can agree is fair. This was November of 2009.

I have yet to be paid my judgment.

My experience with Mr. Phil Mendell, the operations manager, was for the lack of a better word, horrendous. After he paid that first repair, grudgingly of course, then realized the damage they had done to my vehicle, his attitude literally turned into a viscous, nasty, "you ain't nobody", literally "F. you - sue me" type attitude.

And that is exactly what I did.

I proved that no one at the establishment at the time - even held an ASE Certification. They even had video - which the judge didn't even care to look at. Because the pictures I had clearly showed a radiator cap - which had no damage - that had been indeed misplaced, causing it to blow off and spew hot water and antifreeze all over the engine, thereby causing the engine to over-heat and cause significant internal as well as external damage.

I plan to get my money - real soon - and publicize what happened, and hopefully put Mr. Terry Fowler out of business, and Mr. Phil Mendell and Mr. Steven Temple on the unemployment list.

I would appreciate it if you helped me.

Thanks in advance.

On Saturday, June 19, 2010, we took our 1993 Jeep Wrangler (manual transmission) into this location for just an oil change.

As the vehicle was being inspected, we had one of the service techs come out and tell us we needed to replace our ??very frayed and almost ready to break? serpentine belt, the radiator needs flushed and filled, the engine needs to be flushed, among other things.
We agreed to get the oil change and the engine flush and it would cost around $70.00.
This only took about 15-20 minutes.

We were told that our vehicle was ready, as we approached the vehicle, one of the other services techs COULD NOT get our car into gear. We said ??oh it is a Jeep thing, let one of us try". The manager pushed us out of the way and jumped into the driver??s seat. We could tell he was having trouble getting it into first gear. He then dropped into second gear. We could tell just by the sound that the manager (Jamie) dropped it into second gear just enough to get it out of the service bay. As I tried to get the vehicle out of the parking lot, I had to get it into second gear as the vehicle would not got into first gear. We only live less than a mile from this location. We barely got the vehicle back home and parked it as we were pressed for time for a family function out of town.

When we got back from the family function, we tried to move the Jeep closer in the parking area of where we live. It would barely go into gear and it took all of my boyfriends strength to get it to go into gear. We did eventually get the vehicle moved closer to our residence.

We went back that Monday and asked why when we drove the vehicle over there that it was fine, but when we got it back that we could not get into gear. We spoke to the person who claimed he was the manager, Jamie. He said he worked fine when he pulled it out of the bay, we told him that ??no you put it into second gear to get it out of the bay.? He argued with us claiming no he didn??t. He refused to help us in anyway possible and got very defensive. He then gave us the district managers (Luke) number. I have tried many times since that day to contact Luke. No response. My boyfriend actually got a hold of him but as soon as he said ??We got a problem?, Luke hung up on him and refused to return any more calls.

This weekend, we inspected the vehicle and determined that they deliberately drained the clutch reservoir. You could see where the line was pulled and the fluid was drained. All we had to do was add some more clutch fluid to it and the vehicle drives fine now. Also, the serpentine belt has some wear on it, but it was not as nearly as bad and they said it was. The belt is not frayed at all, just slightly worn.

We went through over two weeks of no return phone calls, and no vehicle to drive. We got very poor customer service and no response from this company.
Right after this happened I did a quick google search on this particular location and found SEVERAL complaints about them.

We feel and can prove that our vehicle was deliberately sabotaged for them to get more money out of us. Thank goodness it was an easy fix and no damage (as of this far) was done to our Jeep. Corporate HQ got involved and we finally got the matter resolved with our money back.

Don't go to this company's oil change for anything , you think you're getting honest deal but it's a scam. They rip you off and try to sell you things you don't need. When they break something they can't fix they don't take responsibility. Such a hassle and rip off.

Pros: none that I can see

Cons: Unethical

.

I WENT THERE FOR AN OIL CHANGE FOR MY 2005 CAR. A WEEK LATER MY OIL LIGHT CAME ON INDICATING LOW OIL. I BOUGHT A QUART OF OIL AND PUT IT IN AND TOOK THE CAR BACK. THEY TOLDME THAT I NEEDED TO TAKE MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED THE CAR BECAUSE THE OIL PAN CASQUET WAS LEAKING AND MY CAR WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER AND THEY REVEALED THAT THERE WAS NO OIL LEAK. THEY WENT ON TO SAY THAT WHERE I GOT THE OIL CHANGE "FIXED" THE PROBLEM (NORMALLY IS WHEN THEY DON'T TIGHTEN THE SCREW TIGHT ENOUGH OR THE OIL FILTER IS OUT OF PLACE). NOT ONLY DID THEY CHARGE ME $35 FOR AN OIL CHANGE (WHICH IS $5 MORE THAN THE DEALERSHIP), I COULD OF LOST MY NEW ENGINE DUE TO THEIR NEGLIGENCE.

Pros: ITS FAST

Cons: THEY ARE NOT CAREFUL
