An Atlanta institution since 1967, Anthony's Fine Dining is located in the heart of Atlanta, Georgia, on three pristine wooded acres only 15 minutes from downtown. This historic plantation home, moved to this site from Wilkes County, Georgia, is truly "one of a kind". They have 12 elegant and unique rooms, two wine cellars, 7 fireplaces and a glass enclosed porch for your Corporate Executive Dinner, Holiday Party or Meeting, Retirement Celebration, Prom Night, Anniversary or Birthday Party, Bar or Bat mitzvah, Rehearsal Dinner and small or large Wedding Ceremony and Reception. A la carte dinner guests are always welcome, dinner is served from 6:00 p.m. M-Sat except for the week of Christmas when they are open for private events only. Magnificent, splendid, elegant; words do not adquately portray Anthony's Fine Dining.

The Scene
This antebellum mansion, with its lovely gardens, numerous dining rooms and authentic furnishings, is unexpected off congested Piedmont Road. Anthony's builds its reputation around private parties and holiday meals, but several rooms, including the glass-enclosed porch, are appointed for a la carte dining. Service is knowledgeable and polished.

The Food
Anthony's serves traditional favorites with regional touches and the menu is marked with thoughtful pairings. Citrus-crossed crab cakes are savory and rich with meat. Golden raisins and curry vinaigrette charge the baby spinach salad with flavor and aroma; cognac-spiked bisque poured over tender lobster claw is another tangy starter. Dayboat grouper is buttery and flaky, but the taste of lobster in the smooth mashed potatoes isn't distinct. Other favorites: the filet mignon and veal scaloppini. Creamy creme brulee tops the desserts. Wines are expertly chosen.

Key Points

  • Wedding ceremonies, receptions
  • Corporate parties
  • Wonderful fine dining

The Inside Scoop

  1. Where to Sit - Ask for the "old" wine cellar if you're booking a business meeting.

Southern homestead Atmosphere

by locae

The atmosphere of old southern living, very cozy dining experience, only one thing missing, small portions of vegetables, SO not southern. The food was very good, just not enough for the money. The experience was great, very warm, cozy and good conversation about the old homestead. Service was nice, elegant decore. Being a native Atlanta, and very southern, discouraging that our southern tradition falls at the table with portions.

Pros: Everything about this place is wonderful

Cons: small portions of vegetables

Awesome Food and Service

by jschambly

I went to this restaurant a few days ago and found it to not just be a place for good food, but a dining "experience". The service and food were great. The vegetables were fresh and I usually don't get fresh vegetables at restaurants. I just loved the steak and seafood entree. While I understand the previous reviewer has his opinion, I did not see it the same as he/she did. Not sure where they were coming from... I'd definately recommend this place to everyone. It's great food, great service and you will get a history lesson if you ask for the tour. This is old southern dining with charm and grace.

Pros: Great food and service....take the tour!

Cons: None

This place needs to be on Gordon Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares!

by ATLGator1

First off I want to say that dining out is my wife and my hobby. We have consistantly gone out to nice dinners 2-3 times a week for the past 5 years in Atlanta so we've been just about everywhere.

This was by far the worst "nice" resaurant we've ever been to (It is such a shame too because the actual building and grounds are georgous). From the Ceasar Salad that looked like a kit salad, to the wrong kind of liquor that we ordered in our drinks (and not telling us about it), to the previously frozen seafood that we were served, to the store bought terrible cheesecake that they brought us, it was just laughable. They serve wedding food, and every plate that comes to the table looks the exact same with the exact same sides and sauces.

Please do not recommend this restaurant to any friends or family, I beg you for the sake of your relationship with them. You can spend the same amount of money and go to a fabulous steakhouse (Rathbun's Steak and Chops are my personal favorites) or to Bacchanalia or something. Anywhere but here!

Pros: Beautiful house and setting

Cons: Everything else...

Second experience not the best

by quadracool

I dined in December 2006 for the second time and was not impressed with the quality of service as I had been on my first visit. The food was excellent, but they were out of at least 3 wines & I was not chosing 'one of a kinds'. The service was extremely slow after a large party arrived on the main floor and I waited at least 30 minutes for the check. The servers were apologetic, but blamed their fellow staff members for their myriad of mistakes.

The house is very romantic & my first experience was without trouble. Entrees and desserts are superb.

Pros: Dessert, Ambience

Cons: Service, Wine Availability

Outstanding

by quesenal

Our company had a sales meeting and I needed to find a restaurant that would be able to accomodate 29 people. Anthony's was excellent. They were accomodating and the service and food were tremedious. I absolutely recommend this place.

Pros: Service, Food

Nothing but the best

by scoutster

If you want the taste and the hospitality of the old South, then this is the place for you. We were treated as if we were the only customers from the moment the curtious staff greeted us. The wine list was outstanding, the crabcakes to die for, the filet mignon like butter and the Gran Marnier souffle was simply the best thing we've ever tasted.
To top it off, it was extremely romantic. The couple next to us got engaged. As for a tour of the wine cellars!

Pros: Romantic, Impeccable service, Great wine list

Cons: , but worth it!

Heavenly Desserts

by jcysiede

We were surprised on the quality of their steaks (excellent), and the simply delicious passion-fruit cheesecake (light and fresh). My Grand Marnier soufflé was just splendid, I would die for another one! I loved my brithday dinner ...

This restaurant has been around for a very long time and we usually recommend this restaurant to all the customers that we can not accomodate in our own establishment. It's is known for it's beauty as well as it's good food.
