Wellstar cobb hospital is a terrible place. If you have a choice, look for another establishment. The right hand doesn't have a clue what the other is doing. My experience was a disaster in all areas, especially with the Care Co-ordinator on the fourth floor..She lacks people skills. This person acts more like an army drill sargent than someone that is to help care for a sick, or injured, patient. I would give zero stars if that was an option. Cobb has got to be one of the worst hospitals in Georgia.

I have had 3 surgeries at this hospital. 2 planned and 1 emergency. Emergency Room staff was efficient, friendly and caring. PreOp staff the same. Surgical nurses were awesome. Having gone through alot of outpatient therapy, the PT staff

Go to a different ER if possible. The doctor and nurses did not adequately describe their treatment nor answer questions. It was if the test results were some big secret. The waiting is quite long even after being admitted. The turn around time for lab tests is way too long and inefficient as one must wait several hours to see the doctor; and then several more hours for lab work (which it would be easy to take blood and start tests going beforehand). I did not feel respected overall as a patient and felt I received sub par medical treatment.

Cobb Wellstar is a pathetic corporate run facility that cares not a bit for their staff, much less their patients. My good friend is a RN there and the administrative policy is abyssmal. They treat their staff like serfs. Longtime LPN's were given one week notice that their LPN services were no longer needed, since Wellstar is trying to become a Magnet Hospital. They are being forced to either, take a pay cut to tech status or go back to school and move up to RN. 20+ year employees given ONE WEEK! They are constantly understaffed and so, the individual work load of each nurse is unreasonable. My friend prides herself on giving excellent patient care, but is constantly being drowned with a workload that prevents this. The frustration level of the nursing staff is at the boiling point. Wellstar has gone out of their way to make it clear that a nursing union is out of the question. If anyone brings it up, they are dismissed for some "work related" cause. This is a Nazi regime run buy a corrupt leadership. The CEO just got a 5million+ dollar severance package after he was caught cheating with an employee. And we wonder why Health care is so expensive....
If you have unhappy employees that you treat like dirt, how do you think it will translate into patient care? Magnet hospital? It will never happen Wellstar, not until you learn to put your employee's before your bank account....

ABSOLUTELY the worse ER service I have ever experienced. Arrived at the ER with my sister who could not even hold her head up due to severe dehydration, high fever, etc.. Took 45 minutes for her to get checked by the nurse for symptoms to then be told there were no beds and she would have to wait in ER until one became available. Said wait could be up to 4-6 hours. Several in waiting room had commented they had been there for 7 hours already. This is PATHETIC. Cobb County needs to open an ER for INSURED PATIENT EMERGENCIES and keep this run down facility for all the UNINSURED
MY ANIMALS RECEIVE BETTER CARE AT THE VET OFFICE THAN THE HUMANS AT THIS FACILITY.

On October 8, I arrived at the ER at 6AM in extreme pain. I didn't even have to wait in this area and was immediately seen by a trauma specialist. Within the hour I was in a hospital bed and scheduled for emergency surgery.

The staff and nurses of 4W could not have been more caring and sensitive to me and my family. I was scared and apprehensive - they were self assured and understanding. Dr Wyatt was brought in as was the kidney specialist. Every effort was made to make me feel comfortable and aleviate my pain.

AND, NO, I do not have insurance - no one pressured me about monies and I did receive a written referral to a county assistance program.

Yes, it was a shame when Cobb started charging for parking. I was so Proud of Cobb being from the Mableton/Austell area all my life (I'm 56). Because it was the only hos. with free parking in the vicinity. I would bragg to all! However, I had a friend that knew the owner of the land the hos. is buldt on, and he said that there would never be parking fees at the hos. That may be why for a # of years Quite a few may I say, NO FEES. I had my first 2 babies there "79 and 81. My mom and bro were patients there right after it opened around '68. Now they R like EVERYBODY else.

My wife delivered our second child at this hospital and since our first child was delivered at Piedmont this hospital was just ok. #1 They do not have a nursery and my wife's 2nd night in the hospital the baby would not go to sleep and I was not there because I had to keep our 2 year old. After not getting any sleep the night before because she was delivering and the night before that she had contractions every 10-15 minutes so she didn't get much sleep for 2 nights. Then to deliver & not get any sleep the following night is a stressful experience. #2 The food delivery stops early in the evening so I had to physically go get the food for my wife since she delivered at 11pm and they would not deliver that late. What if a woman has no family? There are many single moms. Not to mention that fathers would like to stay with their wife and new baby, not run errands. #3 They charge for parking. It was not all bad, we had some wonderful nurses who did a great job. However, If we ever had another child we are going back to Piedmont

Don't expect to see a doctor ever, only overworked nurse practitioners. They won't give you any information about available financial help for low-income clients, although they have it available. More than $500 for a 20 min consultation not including staff charges, those come apart. Staff are third party contractors.

Wellstar Cobb Hospital. This hospital charges for parking, and if you don't have money they treat you horrible. It doesn't matter to them what kind of trama you are going through with your family they still look down there noses at you as if you have just committed a terrible crime.

The hospital staff was great, especially a kind, warm and very friendly nurse in the CCU. Her name was Tamika. I give her high praise. If all nurses were as compassionate and caring, and may I say, "Down to earth," you would not see a sad face from patients who are in the unit with non-end -of -life problems and would probably see a very seldom smile from those who are. I had experienced a heart attack on Nov 20,2008 and she made the day for me. She calmed my fears and made me feel I was a special patient, Certainly, I was not but she made me feel that way. I will always remember her sweet little face. May GOD Bless this precious young lady/nurse.There was a downfall though. My children had to pay $5 every time they came and left the hospital parking lot, even for the same day and you had to argue with them to except validation cards from the hospital staff. They stated the hospital staff or any hospital department had any authority with their parking lots to do so,pleeeease, no one in the family came in or out for a mental evaluation, give me a break. Some one in authority should do something about this. Even though I received great care inside the hospital, the parking lot attendants were a nightmare to deal with. So, if you don't have $5-10 on you, you cant park your car to visit anyone there.

I got a call my mother was send to the ER on june 24, around 12 am.We waited around rwo hours, Still no nurse came to inform us anthing, When we drcide to go to another hospital the nurse name Amada did talk us into staying
Still hours went by, no nurse came to inform us anything, We didn;t know how to lift the bed head down, were the bathroom was, anything about if the doctor was coming, We call for a pain pill, still no answer
We decide to leave and go to another doctor the next day. When I ask for the discharge paper the nurse got a hateful tone and told my mother you didn't want to stay anywaty, And told me that sense I am in medical care she surprise I didn't talk my mother into staying, I learn in medical training to check on patients every two hours which they didn't. or answer any calls. Also not to voice your personal opinion. The RN seems to be more into her title of her job than careing for the patients

We had family stay there a few times and honestly the staff is excellent or mediocre. It is unfortunate that from floor to floor or unit or unit, there is no consistency. I am very impressed with the cleanliness of the facility and the accessibility of location is great, but the nursing staff was not always up to par. The onstaff physicians were also great, but some of the specialists that saw our family were totally rude and hadn't even read charts before coming in the room. They do have one of the prettiest labor, delivery and recovery facilities in the city.
