Hello Mr.Jay or Ms. Kelly i would rather..there is nothing wrong with the store...It's find to me I actually would like to work up there at jays if you didn't mind..I'm only 14 but coming soon in February I would turn 15 and if I'm not mistaken that is the age requirements to get hired.I haven't work anywhere really but I know I will have good work experience. I wouldn't mind bagging, stocking, or racking/bringing in the buggies..Well thanks and hopefully I would get a chance discuss this with Mr. Jay

Hey everyone:). I'm Kelly and I am a cashier at Jays IGA. I have read the reviews on this page. I find it quite offensive that you find our store dirty because all we do is clean all the time. Mind you, it is an old store, so give Mr. Jay some slack. It doesn't matter what restaurant you go to, somebody will get food poisoning, but that doesn't make that restaurant a bad place. With this example in mind, we are consistent with rotating our dairy products and our bread. Some customers buy our reduced items that are about to expire, and then they come back into the store and complain about those items. The problem with this is the fact that the customers know that the items are marked down because they are about to go out of date and thus may become sour or spoiled. However, they return the damaged items as if unaware that the prior situation was bound to happen. Of course, this is not just a local problem, but it is also something that is dealt with around the world. The idea thing to do is to pay the extra few dollars to get the product that is not going to expire soon. We are sorry for any inconveniences that our customers may come across in his or her shopping experience. The employees at Jays IGA try their best to satisfy customers in every way and are considerate to their complaints. Employees work hard to present a friendly and comfortable shopping environment. Mr. Jay is kind and thoughtful. Even though he is the owner of the store, he is very humble. Most of the time you will find him at the front of the store, never hesitating to bag groceries, or even helping customers put their groceries in their car. No matter who you are, Mr. Jay always stops to speak. He even helps those who are in major financial need. Mr. Jay also contributes and sponsors a number of businesses in this county and should be appreciated. To you, the customer: thank you for shopping at Jays IGA. We enjoy seeing you and helping you in any way we can. We appreciate any feedback and will strive to improve to better assist you. Please let us know if you have questions, comments, or concerns. Once again, thank you customers! We are here for YOU!

I have been shopping with Jay for years now, and I can understand that an out of date item may seem nasty at the moment, but you do have the option of getting your money back. The cashiers at the store work as much as they can of getting items off the shelf that are out of date, and stock clerks have been good to rotate. Jay has helped many people out in their time of need. Several times have I watched him pull his wallet out and give money to someone who was a few dollars short, and never ask for it back. Maybe the store is a little on the dirty side, but the store has been there for years, to me it makes it look more original. If you dont like Jay's go to Harveys and pay twice your amount. For myself, I'd rather shop with a good man, and good people.

I like the fact that it is a local owned busness but then again it is embarrassing. They do not rotate their stock and you get out of date food a lot of the time. Moldy cheese, bread, and out of date baby formula is just uncalled for. The coolers are always dirty too.

Jay's IGA is nasty. The store is filthy and smells bad. You have to watch what you buy because it is liable to be rotten. I have bought rotten food there on two occasions and I know others that have gotten rotten food there as well. After that I quit shopping there at all. The prices are about average and sometimes they have good deals but it is not worth taking the chance of getting food poisoning.
