We were definitely not prepared when our baby died the day after he was born. A very dear friend from our church recommended Winkenhofer to us. The staff there went above and beyond their duties to make things as easy as possible for our family. Chuck Peavy actually took time to come to our home on a Sunday night because I had just been released from the hospital, and after having an emergency C-Section just two days before, I was not in any physical shape to go anywhere. He sat down with us, explained everything, and was very patient. We were still in emotional shock, and he let us cry, let us talk, whatever we needed to do. The next day we went and picked out a lot at their cemetery which is conveniently located next door. We received the same hospitality from Lauren that we did from Chuck as far as being supportive and just taking time with us. We were not rushed in any way. The funeral was handled with delicacy and again, whenever we felt we were about to fall apart, someone was there to offer support. It has almost been a year, and I can still go in the funeral home today, and they remember who I am. I get a hug as soon as I walk in the door, and they ask how my family is doing and still take the time to talk. I will never forget what they did for my family and the love they showed us, and still show us, through what is probably the worst time we will ever have to endure.

Planning for the inevitable is not something most people like to do, however, it is a necessity to make things easier on loved ones. The staff was kind, considerate of our needs, appreciative of our budget and questions and made this whole process as pain-free as possible. They answered questions with authority and yet with concern for our concers. The location is good, right on 41 in Kennesaw and there is a cemetary right next door.
